U.S. Taxes and the United Nations Money Pit Posted By Claudia Rosett URL to article: http://pajamasmedia.com/claudiarosett/u-s-taxes-and-the-united-nations-money-pit/ Whether you love or hate the United Nations, one thing all Americans ought to be able to agree on is that sloshing billions of American tax dollars into the UN, with little accountability and regardless of UN performance, […]

Robert Conquest, pre-eminent historian of the genocides, purges and terrors of the Soviet Union, has long contemplated the blinders the West wears so as not to look at the millions of dead bodies for which the gigantically Evil Empire was responsible.
“Why people didn’t, and still don’t, understand the communist regimes has to do with their concentration on reputable, or reputable-sounding, phenomena,” Conquest wrote in a 2005 essay. “This is what amounts to an attempt to tame the data or, perhaps more correctly, a mental or psychological bent toward blocking the real essentials, the real meaning.”
In only rare instances is this block ever exposed. One memorable example came when Jimmy Carter announced to the world that the December 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan “has made a more dramatic change in my own opinion of what the Soviets’ ultimate goals are than anything they have done in the previous time I’ve been in office.” Since this was the president of the United States talking, not Little Bo Peep, such laughable naivete — evidence of taming the data, or blocking reality — was subject to ridicule, even at the time.
http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/id.10477/pub_detail.asp The usual truism is that many politicians make the mistake of not coming completely clean when allegations of wrongdoing surface. The cover-up, it is said, is often worse than the underlying crime or ethical violation. This has often been cited as the mistake made by people including Richard Nixon (Watergate break-in), Bill Clinton (Lewinsky, […]

America!! It’s time to wake up: There’s an Iranian missile base in Venezuela; The Iranian Navy is starting a mission in the Atlantic Ocean and into the Gulf of Mexico; Iranian missiles are being armed with nuclear warheads; Iran now has enough enriched uranium for six nuclear bombs; and Iran has hundreds of terrorist cells in the U.S. and in Europe.
For decades I have tirelessly tried to warn the West about the ideology and agenda of the radicals ruling Iran. I have urged the West to help the people of Iran with their aspirations for freedom and democracy. I have tried to help the West understand the determination of these radicals in their quest to bring about death, destruction and disaster to the world.
However, the Western leaders have instead chosen to allow these radicals not only to slaughter the freedom loving people of Iran but to arm themselves to the teeth and to continue developing their nuclear program unabated, which only emboldens them and confirms their belief that Allah is protecting them — that they are on the right path.
The Idea of the ‘Fair Share’ By Frank Salvato http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/id.10475/pub_detail.asp We’re hearing an awful lot about the “wealthy” paying “their fair share” where taxes are concerned. Pres. Obama and his Progressive and liberal Democrat brethren have perfectly coordinated their talking points to affect a campaign of undefined and reckless class warfare against the productive class, […]
http://sultanknish.blogspot.com/ Three years after energy independence and alternative energy measures had bipartisan support under the Bush Administration, the Obama Administration has not only succeeded in politicizing alternative energy until it became a divisive issue, but with the Solyndra scandal, it may have also tarred the entire alternative energy field with another Enron. The problem was […]

Remember when “Operation Infinite Justice” — the post-9/11 US military build-up — was quickly changed to “Operation Enduring Freedom” because Islam believes only Allah dispenses “infinite justice”?
Well, now that as many 50 Pakistani imams in the Sunni Ittehad Council — Facebook page here — have declared jihad on the US, they have also declared that it is haram (forbidden) to call the U.S. a superpower because only Allah deserves the title.
Of course, Pakistan has been fighting a jihad against the American Superdumbpower (is that ok???) for a long time — even as it has been collecting billions in backsheesh — US taxpayer dollars. This week, we learned about one skirmish in that jihad — the deliberate and concerted Pakistani ambush of US military personnel in 2007 during which a US major was killed and three others were wounded. The most shocking aspect of the attack, as reported for the first time in yesterday’s NYT, is that it was not unique. It “fit a pattern.”
The Defense Contractors of Islam Posted By Daniel Greenfield URL to article: http://frontpagemag.com/2011/09/29/the-defense-contractors-of-islam/ One of the more peculiar twists in the caliphate’s tale is that a sizable amount of the funding for Islamic propaganda aimed at Americans comes from Muslim-owned defense contractors. Sabtech Industries recently made the news when it lost its security clearance after […]
The Lady Gaga Administration Posted By Ben Shapiro URL to article: http://frontpagemag.com/2011/09/29/the-lady-gaga-administration/ On Sunday, President Obama, demonstrating once again his populist bona fides, held a fundraiser near San Francisco for his Hollywood friends. The price of admission: $38,500 per plate. (Couldn’t these folks have donated that money to pay down the debt in order […]
Another Tack: Optimism was compulsory

Israeli babies born this month 18 years ago are now old enough for the draft. Some are already in uniform while others soon will be. They were born under the Oslo sign. It seemed a great time to come into the world.
They took their first breaths as the Oslo accords were inaugurated with whoops of rapture. Niggling doubt was politically incorrect and accordingly drowned out with heaps of scorn and wrath in the name of goodwill and broad-minded tolerance. Optimism was compulsory
