Just before Christmas, an article about Elisabeth appeared in Wienerin, a glossy Austrian magazine similar to Vanity Fair. Some translated excerpts:

She is said to have incited hate against Muslims, and is before the court on a charge of incitement. But even a conviction will not silence Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff. S. M. Steinitz accompanied the new figurehead of the Islam critics to Copenhagen. And witnessed how Sabaditsch-Wolff made her trial a manifesto — and gained in political influence.

The prosecutor apparently did not consider it necessary to prepare for the trial. No, he said, he had no questions for the defendant. The tape recording of her comments, the basis for the charge against Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, 39, he had only heard “in excerpts.” On this tape, covertly recorded by a reporter in the fall of 2009, can be heard how Sabaditsch-Wolff — during her seminar “The Fundamentals of Islam” — says to a participant, among other things, “Cardinals rape in spite of their religion. Muslims rape because of their religion.” Sponsor of the seminar: the Freedom Education Institute. A charge was laid after a report appeared in the weekly magazine, NEWS.

One of its most notable attendees is Bill Aossey, a Muslim Youth Camps of America (MYCA) official and president of Midamar Corporation, a leading supplier of Halal foods that was given a loan guarantee of $1.75 million as part of the stimulus package. On August 13, 2010, Aossey sat at President Obama’s table in the White House to enjoy an Iftar meal.

Ron Prosor, the personable and popular (with Israel’s friends, at least) diplomat who this year left the post of Israeli Ambassador to the Court of St James to become his country’s envoy to the United Nations, has proved his mettle yet again as an outstanding representative of the beleaguered Jewish State. His speech yesterday at the UN General Assembly on the occasion of the so-called International Day of Solidarity With The Palestinian People inaugurated by that Arab/pro-Arab-hijacked international body in 1977, bears witness to that.

Declared Mr Prosor:

‘A great Jewish sage once wrote, “The truth can hurt like a thorn, at first; but in the end it blossoms like a rose.”
His words came to my mind today. His insight could really benefit many in this hall.
It takes a well of truth to water the seeds of peace. Yet, we continue to witness a drought of candour in this body’s discussion of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. On this historic day, real facts in the General Assembly remain few and far between.

For any who have been here on November 29th before, today is déjà vu. Some of you may have noticed that some minor changes have been taking place in the Middle East lately, but any changes in this body’s resolutions condemning Israel are very, very rare.
Indeed, it didn’t take a creative writer to craft the language in these resolutions. The exact same text is copied and pasted, year after year – much of it dating back five decades.

The account we heard today is one-sided. It is unilateral. It is unjust. And it is unhelpful. It presents a distorted and impartial version of history. It transforms the cause of Palestinian self-determination into a deliberate attempt to denigrate, defame, and delegitimize the State of Israel.

Holder Lashes Out at Media Over Fast and Furious

Attorney General Eric Holder blames the media for Fast and Furious and mounting calls for his resignation. No, he really does. More, including the audio, at the Daily Caller.

A couple of things today about this latest loss of cool. First, it isn’t just the Daily Caller covering the story as Holder wrongly claims. Every corner of the media is covering it. This sounds like something Press Harpy Tracy Schmaler at DOJ might be telling him, that only just one or two outlets are covering the story, but it isn’t true. She has a reputation of lying to the media, so maybe she also lies to her boss. She also has a reputation of lashing out at the media, like Holder did. (Memo to Press Harpy Schmaler: You’re blowing it, Tracy. This guy is getting clobbered on your watch. And your catty tactics are just antagonizing outlets.)

Secondly, blaming the Daily Caller ignores all the great work PJ Media has done on this!

Thirdly, it seems that every day more on the Hill are calling for Holder to resign. The irony is that Holder’s resignation would do more for Obama’s reelection chances than almost anything else that could happen, apart from the worst economy in decades suddenly growing wings. Hatred for Holder is visceral across the country. He represents the worst and most base aspects of this administration. So if he goes, and a new, cleaned-up attorney general replaces him, it defuses a powerful weapon the GOP is going to use against Obama in the fall. Yes, Holder is going to be a major issue in the election campaign. Holder stepping down would undo those plans. Those calling for his resignation (and make no mistake, he is unfit for the office) need to realize that whomever replaces him will share the same ideology that led to the Black Panther dismissal and mirandizing terrorists. Meet the new boss…

If Holder resigns, we will get a shiny new radical in the office, without blemish. Of course it is a lot more fun covering and writing books like Injustice about the wounded, flailing Holder, but he’s a disaster for the country.

Since I can’t quite get over the latest on Greg Mortenson, I went back to examining the disgraced author-guru’s unrenounced, unrepudiated impact on US COIN strategy in Afghanistan, a large subject I’ve touched on before. In a nutshell, as written here:

Mortenson’s unusual life as counselor to generals started back in September 2007, when then-Lt. Col. Christopher D. Kolenda “reached out” to him. Kolenda’s wife had sent “Three Cups” to Kolenda in Afghanistan where, as the New York Times put it, “Kolenda knew well the instructions about building relationships with elders that were in the Army and Marine Corps’ new counterinsurgency manual, which had been released in late 2006. But ‘Three Cups of Tea’ brought the lessons to life.”

By the end of 2008, the Wall Street Journal reported, Mortenson was in the Pentagon for a private meeting with Joint Chiefs Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen. By the summer of 2009, Mortenson had met with Mullen several times, Mortenson wrote on his blog, “to consult on new approaches to strategic policy in Afghanistan.” And “in the frantic last hours of Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal’s command in Afghanistan” last year, the Times reported somewhat breathlessly, Mortenson was among those the general “reached out” to via email en route from Kabul to Washington. This, the Times wrote, showed the extent to which military leaders “have increasingly turned to Mortenson … to help translate the theory of counterinsurgency into tribal realities on the ground.”

Notwithstanding alleged U.N. support for a two-state solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict, at New York Headquarters Tuesday only the flag of the non-state of Palestine was flown alongside the U.N.’s own flag. The flag of the member state of Israel was barred.

This is how the U.N. General Assembly marked the anniversary of November 29, 1947 when it adopted the partition resolution that sanctioned a Jewish and another Arab state in the former Mandate for Palestine. “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People,” as it is called, is the U.N.’s annual attempt to turn the clock back.

This year Palestinian U.N. Ambassador Riyad Mansour tried to gather momentum for propelling the unilateral Palestinian statehood bid forward. A controversial statement of Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, delivered by his Deputy, appeared intended to do just that.

The Secretary-General announced: “The Palestinian Authority is now institutionally ready to assume the responsibilities of statehood…” No matter that the Palestinian gambit violates UN resolutions, the Roadmap, bilateral agreements and repeated international and bilateral commitments to negotiations. Ban also said “Jerusalem must emerge from negotiations as the capital of two states” – despite remembering near the end of his statement that “the goal” was “a negotiated peace agreement on all final status issues including…Jerusalem.” And Ban called “settlement activity” “contrary to international law,” while explaining to “those in Gaza who fire rockets at Israel and smuggle weapons” that “these actions are unacceptable and contrary to Palestinian interests.”

Speaking on behalf of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Mansour clearly relished his annual moment at UN center stage. He accused Israel of the alleged offense of “Judaization,” in addition to “ethnic cleansing” and “apartheid.” Without batting an eye over the preposterous distortion, he claimed Israel’s membership in the UN was “conditional” upon “Israel’s commitment to the partition resolution” which he stressed gave it less area than it has now. He never mentioned that in 1947 Jews accepted the resolution and Arabs rejected it.

Solidarity Day also featured Yahya Mahmassani, speaking for the League of Arab States, who explicitly rejected Israel’s “insistence on recognition as a Jewish state.” Only one representative of “civil society” was invited – Americans United for Palestinian Human Rights. The reasons for his invitation quickly became clear as he called Israel an “apartheid state,” demanded “boycotts, divestment and sanctions,” claimed Israel was guilty of “pogroms,” and alleged that U.S. support for Israel resulted from our being “held hostage to domestic politics.” Ambassador Mansour clapped when the rant finally ended.
