http://melaniephillips.com/the-liverpool-killing-pathway For relatives anxious about a frail loved one in hospital, few things could surely sound more reassuring than a ‘care pathway’. It sounds like a well-worked-out schedule for providing the best possible approach to treating a patient. Accordingly, when relatives have been asked to sign up to the Liverpool Care Pathway (LCP), that’s precisely […]
Smirkin’ Joe gave us quite a show in the VP debate. He was quite the comedian. What could be funnier than the idea that Iran is 4 years closer to a nuclear weapon than they were 4 years ago? Maybe the idea that they didn’t have a delivery system is funnier? Maybe the idea that […]

http://www.dianawest.net/Home/tabid/36/EntryId/2270/About-the-Gate-to-the-Compound-in-Benghazi.aspx Just read the State Department blow-by-blow briefing, or “tick-tock,” on events in Benghazi given reporters on background on October 9. As senior official #2 summed up the attack in his concluding remarks: The lethality and the number of armed people is unprecedented. There had been no attacks like that anywhere in Libya – Tripoli, […]

“Hillary takes this one hard on the chin and she deserves it. The wife of a former U.S. President supported the agenda to blame America first and protect Muslim countries no matter the cost. Hillary climbed aboard to serve a man she couldn’t abide. She knew she would be seen as the most powerful woman in the world. Her legacy as Secretary of State would pave her road to the Oval Office, but she’s under the bus now, and I ask you again, when have you ever seen an ounce, a word, of patriotism from Hillary Clinton?”
Doug Ross is quoting Ed Klein, the author of The Amateur saying Bill Clinton has “assembled an informal legal team” to come up with some strategy to defend Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi strategy, which was insane and irresponsible by any measure. If we have a Marine detachment in Barbados, why wouldn’t we have protected our interests in Benghazi? Perhaps because Hillary has busily and with great import taken on the Muslim cause around the world. She jumped on that bus going in the wrong direction – the vehicle Obama tuned-up in his Cairo speech, and has kept the petal to the metal ever since.

A protest by 10,000 Muslims outside the offices of Google in London today is just the first in an orchestrated attempt to force the company to remove an anti-Islamic film from website YouTube in Britain.
Thousands had travelled from as far afield as Glasgow to take part in the demonstration, ahead of a planned million-strong march in Hyde Park in coming weeks.

Anger over ‘The Innocence of Muslims’, an American-produced film which insults the Prophet Mohammad and demeans Muslims, according to protesters, remains available to watch on the website YouTube, a subsidiary of Google.
Organiser Masoud Alam said: “Our next protest will be at the offices of Google and YouTube across the world. We are looking to ban this film.
“This is not freedom of expression, there is a limit for that. This insult of the Prophet will not be allowed.
The group’s next action was a march Mr Alam hoped would be “a million strong” would take place in Hyde Park “in the next few weeks”, he said.
“Until it is banned we will keep protesting,” he added.
Today’s demonstration was the third organised in a month, and took place on the central London street where the website search giant has its UK headquarters. A demonstration outside the American Embassy in London last month drew little attention as protests in Libya, Tunisia and Yemen dominated headlines, including the storming of embassy in Benghazi, Libya, that led to the death of the US Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens.

Federal prosecutors and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are in the final stages of a criminal probe into allegations that Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. misused campaign money to decorate his house, according to people familiar with the matter.
The probe of Mr. Jackson, a Democrat and the son of civil-rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson, is nearing completion, and attorneys for the lawmaker recently sought assurance from senior Justice Department officials to not seek an indictment before the November election, according to people familiar with the matter. Those people said the Justice Department officials refused to make such a promise. …

As Islamic outrages multiply, PC France remains adamant: This has nothing to do with Islam.
PARIS. Islam, où est le problème? [literally, Islam, where is the problem?]. In the wake of the latest spate of Islamic rage operations, Yves Calvi, one of our most decent journalists, made an honest effort to squarely face the question. Though he tried as usual to include a broad range of guests, the September 24th broadcast of his political discussion program “Mots Croisés” was a mismatch, with philosopher Alain Finkielkraut fending off a barrage of accusations from all sides. Accusations, of course, against us, not against Islam.
The very possibility that Islam might be a problem was evacuated early on. The majority of Muslims in France are law-abiding well-integrated members of society. The proof? French Muslims did not react violently to Charlie Hebdo’s caricatures of Muhamed. Consequently, the problem is not Islam and Islam is not a problem. The problem is the failure of French society to integrate immigrants and make them feel at home. The problem is the stigmatization of Muslim immigrants down to the third and fourth generation, relegated to ghettoes, victims of discrimination in the job market, subjected to humiliating ID controls, constantly suspected of criminality.
Clémentine Autain of the Front de Gauche [The Left Front, ed.] extended the humiliation argument to its outer limits. Those immigrants had to put up with the debate on national identity, the burqa ban, the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, and the festering Israel-Palestinian crisis. Finkielkraut and Socialist politician Julian Dray managed to squeeze in a few words about anti-Semitism without really linking it to Islam or stemming the tide of criticism of French society.
Finkielkraut gave a subtle explanation for this studied reluctance to entertain the notion that Islam in and of itself might be a problem by citing the case of his colleague Robert Redeker, a philosophy professor who has been in hiding and under police protection since he published an unvarnished reflection on Islam in the Figaro daily in September 2006.
