GOOD NEWS ABOUT FOOTBALL AND ISRAEL…THE GAME TODAY….PLEASE READ

FROM AN E-PAL…..STEVE STEIN
I know that many of you are not football fans or rather familiar with the game played with a pointy ball and men in suits of armour.  But the UEFA football championships are of immense interest to much of the world. That Israel hosts the Under 21competition is a great success and a signal defeat for the BDS movement.Luke Akehurst, you will see his email below, is a Labour Party councillor in Hackney, London. He leads “We Believe in Israel”. Luke isn’t Israeli or Jewish nor does he depend on Jewish votes.  He advocates for Israel from pure conviction.
Please spread the word and encourage others to tweet and Facebook and email.

Many thanks,

Subject: FW: UEFA Under-21 Championships in Israel

Further to the briefing pack I previously circulated, tomorrow night (Tuesday 11th June) is the England vs Israel match at the UEFA Under-21 championships in Israel. The match starts at 17.00 UK time and is broadcast on Sky Sports 2.

During the match it is a prime opportunity to say positive things on social media about Israel hosting the championships.

It is worth highlighting that Israel’s squad includes six Arab players, as this completely contradicts anti-Israel rhetoric about “apartheid”.

As this article notes, “with the help of the Peres Center for Peace, Jewish and Arab children, who play together throughout the season, will be called onto the field before every game involving the Israeli team”:

This article from the FA is also worth linking to:

There are at least two prominent pro-Israel tweeters live-tweeting and blogging the match from the stadium: Richard Millett (https://twitter.com/RichMillett @RichMillett) and Adam Levick of Cif Watch (https://twitter.com/adamlevick @adamlevick). You can follow them and RT their tweets from the match.

The main hashtags to follow and use are #EnglandU21, used by the FA, English sponsors etc, and  #U21EURO which is the one most used by the boycott tweeters and is used by UEFA.
