UK’s Channel 4 in grovelling plan to broadcast the Muslim call to prayer “directly into British living rooms” daily during Ramadan. Be afraid, be very afraid of what this means
Channel 4, one of Britain’s top mainstream television media stations, has announced plans to broadcast the Muslim call to prayer this year on all 30 days during the Muslim festival of Ramadan, which begins next Tuesday.
This is merely the next logical step for a station steeped in the cliched agenda of 21st century political correctness and which shocked the world on Christmas Day 2008 by offering Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran’s Holocaust-denying president, a seven minute uninterrupted propaganda slot as a kind of riposte to the traditional Queen’s speech to the British people which takes place every year on the same day.
That same intent to invert traditional Western values by replacing them with a grovelling exhibition of Western self-hatred was made explicit by the words and associated themes offered by Channel 4’s Ralph Lee, who has (given the circumstances, what can only be described as) the Orwellian title of, “Head of Factual Programming”.
Without the slightest sense of self-awareness, Lee was quoted by the Independent newspaper as saying:
“…let’s not forget that Islam is one of the few religions that’s flourishing, actually increasing in the UK. Like Channel 4’s target audience, its followers are young. It’s recently been reported that half of British Muslims are under 25.
“Nearly five per cent of the country will actively engage in Ramadan this month – can we say the same of other national events that have received blanket coverage on television such as the Queen’s coronation anniversary?”
Channel 4 says it wants to show that Islam is being unfairly characterised as a religion associated with extremism and terrorism. The Independent reports:
“The Channel 4 News weather forecast will feature the sunrise and sunset times, to guide those fasting between those hours, and each of the daily adhans will be broadcast live on the Channel 4 website.”
Well, who needs Islamist extremists when core elements of the establishment of Europe’s leading democratic nation are doing their
work for them? And before anyone says the word “Islamophobia”, let’s remember that a phobia is an irrational fear about something that is not really happening.
This is happening, it is real, and I think it is rational to be scared.
