NEW YORK, August 6, 2013—Frankly my dear, NBC does give a damn, and so does CNN. Both networks, affiliates of the Democrat Party, have films in development about Hillary Rodham Clinton, and they don’t care what anybody says. Already there is noise from the Republican Party, to which the networks say, “There is a Republican Party? Where?”
Which is why (my guess) the reproachful email from the RNC ended up in the spam file until somebody at the networks pointed out that Reince Priebus was for real and so, perhaps, was the Republican National Committee, complaining that the Hillary movies were “a thinly-veiled attempt at putting the thumb on the scales of the 2016 presidential election.”
In other words, NBC’s four-hour miniseries, starring Diane Lane, and CNN’s docudrama, were sure to favor Hillary, if she planned to run.
There are no plans for any Republican to run for president. Ever. It is over and done.
Next came the threat, saying that if NBC and CNN persisted, why in that case, they would lose their chance to host the 2016 GOP Olympics, or debates, which ordinarily attract a national viewership between four and four million Americans. Both NBC and CNN responded by saying, “Oooh. We are so scared.”
In any case, both films are set to air around that time, when Hillary, unopposed from any Democrat or Republican, will announce her candidacy for a third term as president. Some may recall the following Hillary quote to be found in James B. Stewart’s Blood Sport: The President and his Adversaries: “I’m not going to have some reporters pawing through our papers. [Bill and Hillary] We are the president.”
Right about now the screenplays are being written for both projects and we cannot help but imagine what is going through the minds of the screenwriters – how to keep it tilted in such a way as to appear balanced. The brainstorming must be working round the clock.
Do we mention Benghazi and how she slept through it all as four Americans on her payroll and on her watch were slaughtered?
Do we use the famous, “What difference at this point does it make?”
She did say that she takes full responsibility. Nobody knows what that means. In fact, it does not mean anything.
Nobody in politics takes responsibility, fully or in part, but it sounds good.
How about the cookies? Remember that one? “I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies and had teas.”
One hundred million Americans who stayed home and baked cookies were offended. Hillary apologized and took full responsibility.
Brainstorm! How about this? Never mind Diane Lane. Get Dustin Hoffman and we do it like Tootsie. You know, turns out she’s really a guy.
No. This won’t be a comedy. There is nothing funny about Hillary Rodham Clinton (and as for tragedy, we are living it right now).
Okay. So this. We show how successful she has been as secretary of state. Now, after her many overtures and foot licking to the Islamic world, there is peace in the region, no? Along with her boss, Barack Obama, she was tireless in chastising the United States and telling the Muslim world that everything was our fault. We take full responsibility.
Too bad radical Islam is back with a vengeance, despite her bowing to princes and imams. So much for her legacy.
Which means, to keep it balanced, we will have to scrap that part, along with the rest.
Get rewrite – and remember, if anybody complains, we call it “a vast right-wing conspiracy.” Her words.
Besides, she has been writing her autobiography, also at the approach of the next election, in which she is sure to tell-all and take full responsibility.
