Barack Obama and his minions have done everything they can to mislead Americans regarding Al Qaeda and its role in the attack in Benghazi that killed four Americans serving their nation. The attack was called by the administration a spontaneous demonstration caused by an all but unwatched video created by a hapless Coptic Christian in California — who was promptly jailed. This narrative was spread by Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama.

Then, as the truth leaked out despite efforts by the White House to stonewall and prevent witnesses from testifying, it became all but obvious that the attack was planned and perpetrated by Al Qaeda.

However, that revelation would have caused campaign and image problems for Barack Obama since he had repeatedly and grandiosely declared many times that Al Qaeda was on the run, was decimated, on the ropes and that, needless to say, Bin Laden was dead.

In reality, Obama’s incompetency has led to Al Qaeda controlling more territory than ever before.

But the false story has had other bad consequences: the administration’s refusal to designate Al Qaeda as the group behind Benghazi has put handcuffs on the Pentagon. Under the law known as the Authorization for Use of Military Force, the Pentagon can only engage in military action against “Al Qaeda” members. The law bars the military from trying to capture or kill the murderers of Americans-all to protect the image of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Kristina Wong of The Hill reports:

The U.S. military cannot hunt down and kill people responsible for the deadly 2012 attack on an American compound in Benghazi, Libya, as long as the terrorists are not officially deemed members or affiliates of al Qaeda, newly declassified transcripts from congressional hearings show.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Martin Dempsey in testimony on Oct. 10 said the Pentagon’s hands are tied because the groups involved are not covered by the Authorization for Use of Military Force. The AUMF law allows U.S. attacks anywhere in the world only on al Qaeda and “associated forces.”

“The individuals related in the Benghazi attack, those that we believe were either participants or leadership of it, are not ‘authorized use of military force,’ ” Gen. Dempsey told the House Armed Services Committee in his classified testimony during a closed hearing.

The transcript was released on Monday.

“In other words, they don’t fall under the AUMF authorized by the Congress of the United States. So we would not have the capacity to simply find them and kill them either with a remotely-piloted aircraft or with an assault on the ground,” Dempsey said.
