In the wake of the mass killing of Dallas police officers, Barack Obama spoke at the memorial service.
His speech began with the appropriate language and tone that made it appear that finally, he was trying to bring America together. But then, apparently unable to help himself, he veered off the path of reason and fell back to his old pattern of painting with a broad brush, virtually declaring that there are only two types of racists – those who admit they are racists and those who, although they are racists, deny that they are.
The ABC Dallas affiliated station, WFAA posted the full transcript of President Obama’s speech at the Dallas memorial service on Tuesday, July 12, 2016.
Obama’s inflammatory statements, coupled with the statements made by Democratic members of the House of Representatives during hearings that were conducted to consider the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal, turned those hearings into opportunities to focus on police shootings.
Those hearings were called because of the apparent crimes committed by Ms Clinton in mishandling e-mails that contained classified information up to and including at the Top Secret level and higher. Clinton also made use of unauthorized computer servers in her house that were in total violation of laws and regulations concerning national security. Yet Democratic members of Congress insisted that Clinton’s actions were of no significance but then sought to question both FBI Direct Comey and at a subsequent hearing, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, about police shootings and issues concerning gun control.
This tactic, either by design or stupidity, fans the flames that threaten to engulf so many of America’s tinderbox poverty-stricken neighborhoods around the United States, in the flames of conflict. This threatens the safety and the lives of those neighborhoods and the safety and the lives of the police officers who patrol those neighborhoods to protect those who live there.
Clearly there are many problems in America and under the current administration many of our problems have gotten far worse. For Obama to acknowledge that poverty is a huge problem, that our schools are failing and decent jobs are hard to come. He made the assertion that kids could more easily get a gun than a computer or a book.
Consider this excerpt from Mr. Obama’s speech at the memorial service:
We also know what Chief Brown has said is true: That so much of the tensions between police departments and minority communities that they serve is because we ask the police to do too much and we ask too little of ourselves. (Applause.) As a society, we choose to underinvest in decent schools. We allow poverty to fester so that entire neighborhoods offer no prospect for gainful employment. (Applause.) We refuse to fund drug treatment and mental health programs. (Applause.) We flood communities with so many guns that it is easier for a teenager to buy a Glock than get his hands on a computer or even a book — (applause) — and then we tell the police “you’re a social worker, you’re the parent, you’re the teacher, you’re the drug counselor.” We tell them to keep those neighborhoods in check at all costs, and do so without causing any political blowback or inconvenience. Don’t make a mistake that might disturb our own peace of mind. And then we feign surprise when, periodically, the tensions boil over.
We know these things to be true. They’ve been true for a long time. We know it. Police, you know it. Protestors, you know it. You know how dangerous some of the communities where these police officers serve are, and you pretend as if there’s no context. These things we know to be true. And if we cannot even talk about these things — if we cannot talk honestly and openly not just in the comfort of our own circles, but with those who look different than us or bring a different perspective, then we will never break this dangerous cycle.
These claims are infuriating because many of the problems Obama cited during his speech have been exacerbated during his two terms in office.
His desire to “bring change to America,” a goal he articulated when he was first elected, represents one of the few promises he has kept. He brought change to America by failing to secure our nation’s borders and enforce our immigration laws. He encouraged surges of huge numbers of unaccompanied minors- illegal aliens who, at great personal risk, made their way through Central America into Mexico and ultimately across the border that is supposed to separate the United States from Mexico where they were greeted by U.S. Border Patrol agents who under the administration’s policies facilitated their entry into the United States and assisting them by helping move them into communities around the United States.
Heroin addiction is now a national epidemic that has become so pervasive that police officers and other first responders and even public school nurses have been issued doses of Narcan (naloxone hydrochloride) and appropriate training to save the lives of individuals who have overdosed on heroin.
Heroin is totally illegal and is not produced in the United States. Simply stated, every single gram of heroin present in the United States had to have been smuggled across our borders to get here. The smugglers who get heroin, cocaine and other dangerous drugs into the United States not only smuggle them across the U.S./Mexican border but across the U.S./Canadian border, on ships that gain access to our nation’s 95,000 miles of coastline and by hiding those drugs in cargo holds of airplanes that land at international airports located in virtually all of our states and territories and in motor vehicles that enter the United States through land border ports.
Every gram of heroin and every gram of cocaine provides unequivocal evidence that our borders are not secure. Furthermore, drug trafficking organizations do not simply send packages of drugs into the United States, they first get their own people into the United States to make certain that their operations run smoothly and with extreme integrity. This is true where Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTO’s) from around the world are concerned. Whether these organizations are based in Latin America, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Russia or elsewhere, they all understand that the best way to control their drugs and their profits from the drug trade, by putting people from their home countries in charge of their operations in the United States, the leaders of these DTO’s apply incredible pressure on their underlings by making it clear that the family members of those who run their operations in the United States will face the consequences if drugs or proceeds go missing.
Drugs fuel crime and violence in the United States, particularly in our poor and minority neighborhoods. With such huge quantities of narcotics flooding into the United States, extremely violent gangs flourish. Those gangs seek to recruit young people including American kids, especially minority children who seek a sense of belonging to compensate for their all too-often dysfunctional families.
For Obama to talk about the lack of good jobs, we should look no further than the fact that virtually every month, the number of foreign workers that enter the United States exceeds the number of new jobs that are created. This leads to further displacement of American workers, wage suppression and the destruction of the middle class and the growth of the number of Americans who live below the poverty line.
When illegal aliens take the jobs that politicians are quick to describe as the “Jobs American won’t do” the reality is that these low-level jobs are the jobs that often provide young Americans with their first jobs that help them to enter the labor force and thus begin to create a resume that leads to ever-increasing steps up the economic ladder.
Furthermore, both Mr. Obama and Ms Clinton are pushing for a massive amnesty program that would enable tens of millions of illegal aliens to acquire lawful status. They would have an equal standing in the already overflowing labor pool. More American workers would be displaced and more wages would be depressed. More middle class American families would drop below the poverty line.
This would certainly run contrary to what Mr. Obama said the cure for our ills are.
Finally, if such a massive amnesty program was implemented, besides the irreparable damage that this would do to national security, millions of heretofore illegal aliens would immediately be able to file applications for their minor children to be lawfully admitted into the United States. Many millions of such young aliens would suddenly flow into the United States legally and be admitted into those very same failing schools that Obama spoke about during his speech in Dallas.
How on earth would this make the lives and the futures of America’s struggling minority children be helped by this?
It is clear that Mr. Obama lacks mouth/ear coordination: His own ears apparently are unable to hear the words that come out of his own mouth. However, we do not suffer from that malady. It is abundantly clear that Obama’s agenda, an agenda embraced by Hillary Clinton, would make things far worse for America and Americans, particularly American minority children.
