Smartmatic, a U.K.-based voting technology company with deep ties to George Soros, has control over voting machines in 16 states including battleground zones like Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Other jurisdictions affected are California, District of Columbia, Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin.

Its website includes a flow-chart that describes how the company has contributed to elections in the U.S. from 2006-2015 with “57,000 voting and counting machines deployed” and “35 million voters assisted.”

In 2005, Smartmatic bought-out California-based Sequoia Voting Systems and entered the world of U.S. elections.

According to Smarmatic’s website, “In less than one year Smartmatic tripled Sequoia’s market share” and “has offered technology and support services to the Electoral Commissions of 307 counties in 16 States.”

Among the “case studies” that Smartmatic lists on its website as examples of its work are Venezuela, where it has been facilitating elections since 2004 when it “won a bid to provide Venezuela with a reliable voting system.”

It also lists Cook County, Illinois as another success story, when in “in 2006, Smartmatic signed what at the moment was the largest election automation contract in US history.” Cook County includes Chicago and its suburbs, a geographic zone that has historically and lately been subject to criticism for voter fraud.

The chairman of Smartmatic is Lord Mark Malloch-Brown, who sits in the British House of Lords and on the board of George Soros’s Open Society Foundations. He was formerly the vice-chairman of Soros’s Investment Funds and even the deputy secretary-general of the United Nations when he worked as chief of staff to Kofi Annan.

Malloch-Brown’s resume includes stints as vice-president of the UN World Bank and in British Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s cabinet.

In addition to a close relationship with Soros, Malloch-Brown has worked with consulting firms that are well-connected to Bill and Hillary Clinton. He was an international partner with the Sawyer-Miller consulting firm and was a senior adviser to FTI Consulting.

One of Sawyer-Miller’s alumni is Mandy Grunwald, who ran the firm’s communication contract for Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential run. She was also the head of communications for Hillary Clinton’s unsuccessful 2008 presidential bid.

Jackson Dunn, who is a senior managing director with FTI Consulting, spent 15 years in Washington where he worked as an aide to President Bill Clinton and Sen. Hilllary Clinton.

Smartmatic has already encountered controversy in the ongoing presidential contest. It ran the online balloting for the Utah Republican caucus last March, when many critics said it was impossible to secure personal electronic devices that are used to register and vote.

Las Vegas Debate: Can Donald Trump Turn Things Around?

LAS VEGAS — The presidential race has been moving away from Donald Trump since last week’s debate: he is trailing in crucial battleground state polls; the speaker of the House of his own party essentially conceded the race to Hillary Clinton; and a steady stream of women have accused the former New York businessman of inappropriate sexual behavior (all of which he denies).

Can Donald Trump turn this thing around?

Wednesday’s debate here in Las Vegas at the University of Nevada might be Trump’s last chance before a massive television audience to come across as presidential, portray himself as a political outsider whose message meets the moment, use the WikiLeaks emails to inflict damage into Hillary Clinton’s campaign and convince people he still has a shot at winning.

The third and final presidential debate is being moderated by anchor Chris Wallace — the first time a journalist from Fox News has moderated a general election debate.

Wallace says the planned topics for the debate are debt and entitlements, immigration, economy, Supreme Court, foreign hot spots and fitness to be president.

But two political issues that are likely to come up: the recent accusations of lewd behavior against Trump and the WikiLeaks release of emails from Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s email account. And another issue sure to be mentioned: in recent days, Trump has emphasized his argument that the election is “rigged” against him.

Heading into the debate, no sign yet if Trump’s team has any tricks up their sleeves this time.

Trump reportedly battled with the Commission in the minutes before the last debate in St. Louis, attempting to seat women who have accused Bill Clinton of sexual abuse — including Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick and Kathleen Willey — in the box reserved for family of the candidate.

According to The Washington Post, Frank J. Fahrenkopf, the debate commission’s co-chairman, told the Trump campaign security would remove the women. So the campaign ended up seating them in other seats inside the debate hall to draw attention to the past accusations made against Clinton.

The Daily Caller has a team of journalists on the ground in Las Vegas. The debate — which begins at 9:00 p.m. EST and will run for 90 minutes without commercial interruptions — will be live streamed on TheDC.

Trump Overtakes Johnson Among US Troops

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has overtaken Libertarian nominee Gov. Gary Johnson among active duty U.S. military voters, according to a Military Times poll.

A Sept. 21 poll of military voters previously found Johnson and Trump were effectively tied, each holding approximately 37 percent of support. Despite a slew of scandals in the last month, Trump overtook Johnson, holding 40 percent of all military voters.

Among enlisted military personnel, Trump commands a hefty lead of 43.3 percent support, but only holds 26 percent of the officer corps. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton conversely ties with Johnson for 31 percent of the vote among officers.

“No one seems to care that Hillary Clinton is directly responsible for leaking classified information,” one enlisted Marine corporal told Military Times. He continued, “It’s an embarrassment that she is on the verge of becoming president.”

Among the services, Trump held the highest lead among the U.S. Marines, while Clinton had her highest support among the U.S. Navy. The Military Times poll comes before the third presidential debate between Trump and Clinton, which ostensibly will be more focused on national security issues. Only 1 in 20 troops indicated they the debates change their voting preferences come November.

Troops held little faith in either Clinton or Trump’s ability to be an effective commander in chief. Only 4 percent surveyed thought Clinton would lead the military effectively, compared with 9 percent among Trump. Sixty percent agreed they had little confidence in either major party nominee.

“We are currently in a race to the bottom, and it is a sad thing to witness that this is the best leadership options that the nation can bring to the table,” a U.S. Navy lieutenant said.

The military times poll has a 2 percent margin of error.

Why Would Liberal Agitators Incite Violence At Trump Rallies? (Hint: To Help Donald Trump Win)

In the wake of James O’Keefe’s latest video, a Democratic operative is “stepping back” from his role helping the Hillary Clinton campaign. As CNN notes, an edited video suggests the operative “and other staffers hired people to attend Donald Trump’s campaign rallies and incite violence.”

This has been widely reported. But what isn’t garnering much attention is the apparent motive. To understand that, it’s important to note that the alleged incitement of violence occurred in Chicago during the Republican primary campaign — back in March.

Here’s something I wrote about it at the time (also in March):

I’m not the only one to have observed that the Black Lives Matter or other liberal protests (from shutting down Trump’s rally in Chicago to shutting down traffic in Phoenix) help Trump in the same way that hippies and anti-war protesters helped elect Richard Nixon. Think of it this way, the more things remind you of the 1960s and 70s, the better it is for Trump.

And this is from April:

On Friday’s New Day on CNN, during a discussion of violent protests outside a Donald Trump appearance in Costa Mesa, California, after conservative CNN political commentator Matt Lewis suggested that they might be “leftist agitators” who are effectively boosting Trump’s campaign with their behavior…

This morning, I was back on CNN’s New Day making the case this might very well have been part of a larger, orchestrated campaign to help elevate Donald Trump as the Republican Party’s nominee.

If you think this is paranoid, consider the fact that Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill admits to helping Todd Akin win the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in Missouri back in 2012.)

Regardless of what happens with these new videos, it is very clear to me that Democrats were engaging in operation chaos. There is little doubt they wanted Donald Trump to be the GOP nominee — for obvious reasons.
