Easy come, easy go.
The Women’s March is replacing three inaugural board members who have been dogged by accusations of anti-Semitism, infighting and financial mismanagement — controversies some say have slowed the organization’s progress and diminished its impact.
Co-Chairs Bob Bland, Tamika Mallory and Linda Sarsour stepped down from the board July 15, though the organization has been slow to announce their departures. The Women’s March website continued to host their photos and titles as co-chairs through this week, when the group announced the board turnover.
A diverse cast of 16 new board members that includes three Jewish women, a transgender woman, a former legislator, two religious leaders and a member of the Oglala tribe of the Lakota nation will inherit an organization recovering from a failed attempt to trademark the Women’s March name and fractured relationships with local activist groups and the Jewish community.
Notice the vagueness. The organization does things. No people actually mentioned by name.
Mallory, Sarsour and Bland left in July, but we’re only being told this in September.
It goes without saying that the Women’s March has replaced anti-Israel and anti-Semitic figures with more of the same.
Samia Assed, a Palestinian American activist from New Mexico who serves on the board of the Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice and leads the organization’s New Mexico chapter.
Zahra Billoo, a civil rights attorney and executive director of the San Francisco Bay area chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Ginna Green, who runs the strategy arm of liberal Jewish group Bend the Arc and was among a group of Jewish women to lead the 2019 Women’s March on Washington.
Bend the Arc is an anti-Israel group. CAIR has links to Hamas
Samia Assed, a Palestinian American activist who serves on the board of the Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice, has posted pictures with Sarsour and retweeted a video with the with the caption, “Israel = worse than the devil part 2.” Assed’s Twitter account is now private.
CAIR’s Billoo had tweeted, “Blaming Hamas for firing rockets at [Apartheid] Israel is like blaming a woman for punching her rapist.”
Ryan Mauro at Clarion has a lot more on her.
In the past, Billoo has praised the terrorist group Hezbollah, tweeting “AH [All Hail] for Hezbollah having the courage to do what the Arab governments won’t”
A tweet of hers from 2009, where she casually mentions that she is listening to the sermon of the noted anti-Semitic hate preacher Louis Farrakhan while at the gym has recently gotten a lot of attention.
And from IPT.
In a Twitter post on May 6, 2012 Billoo wrote that she “finds inspiration in both Sami Al-Arian and Tariq Ramadan.” Sami Al-Arian was convicted of conspiracy to make or receive contributions of funds, goods or services to or for the benefit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a Specially Designated Terrorist Group.
Ramadan, the grandson of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna, was barred entry to the United States between 2004 and 2010 by the Department of Homeland Security due to his ties to a Muslim charity that supported Hamas.
She was elated when Mohammed Morsi of the Egyptian Page | 11 Muslim Brotherhood won the presidential election. “Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] were outlawed and its leaders tortured for six decades. Today, their candidate was announced Egypt’s new president. Subhan’Allah.”
There’s also, “Rabbi” Tamara Cohen, a member of the ‘rabbinic cabinet’ of the anti-Israel lobbying group, J Street. She’s associated with the usual roster of lefty anti-Jewish and anti-Israel groups such as JFREJ and Brit Tzedek V’Shalom.
So the Women’s March is determined to maintain its opposition to Israel, and Jews, and support for Farrakhan.
