Democrats are having a good old time these days, running around, torching churches, looting stores, pulling down statues, painting Official Graffiti on the streets, and hitting cops with baseball bats.

I say to each of them, knock yourself out because it is all fun and games until the election comes around and you have to pay for your Summer of Hate.

President Donald John Trump trolled them in Seattle. He sent undercover agents to Portland, Oregon, to stop and question rioting Democrats.

That was on Friday.

On Monday, United Press International reported, “Democratic congressional leaders have called for an investigation into the legality of the Trump administration’s use of federal law enforcement officers during protests following reports of abusive practices being deployed against demonstrators in Portland.

“In a letter to the inspectors general of the Justice and Homeland Security Departments on Sunday, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie G. Thompson and Oversight and Reform Committee Chairwoman Carolyn B. Maloney urged for an investigation to be opened into reports Trump administration officials have abused emergency authorities to prevent Americans from exercising their right to peaceful assembly.”

The right to peacefully assemble does not cover throwing rocks and other objects at the police.

Americans know this.

They know peaceful protests do not cause $500 million in damage in a city. And yet, that’s what happened in Minneapolis.

Democrats think that as long as the media pretends this is not looting and rioting, then they can get away with it. This is their plan to win in November. Create chaos and then promise to turn the chaos off if elected.

The Wall Street Journal is not buying this.

It said in an editorial, “Anarchists and rioters have wreaked havoc on Portland, Ore., for nearly two months. Democrats have excused and emboldened them, and they’re now claiming the real problem is that federal law enforcement has intervened to restore order. Maybe the feds should leave and let the city put out its own fires.

“Peaceful protests broke out in Portland in late May in response to the killing of George Floyd, but they’ve quickly escalated to rioting and vandalism. Demonstrators have launched large fireworks at law enforcement, shone laser pointers at their eyes, thrown fecal matter, and assaulted at least one officer with a hammer.

“The Department of Homeland Security reports that rioters are armed with rifles, tasers, slingshots and sledgehammers and have committed multiple acts of arson. On July 3 someone firebombed the Hatfield U.S. Courthouse, and scarcely a day passes without graffiti and property damage.”If radicals feel emboldened, that’s because Portland has long allowed political violence to occur with impunity. In recent years dueling marches by Antifa and far-right activists have descended into brawling, and too often police have done little to stop it. Assaults have gone unpunished, including a violent attack on journalist Andy Ngo. Portland Police admit that they sometimes simply walk away from protests — er, strategically disengage.

“In early June Mayor Ted Wheeler told police to refrain from using tear gas unless there’s ‘violence that threatens life safety.’ Federal Judge Marco Hernandez also issued an injunction prohibiting the use of tear gas ‘to disperse crowds where there is no or little risk of injury.’ And on June 30, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown signed legislation that bans tear gas unless police declare a riot.

“Enter federal agents, who face no such restrictions on crowd-control tactics.”Judge Hernandez is an Obama judge and an idiot, but I repeat myself.

As does history.

Retired Colonel Kurt Schlichter drew upon his military experience to explain what is happening.

He wrote, “I recall walking through the ruins of Kosovo when I first got there a few years after the active conflict. The Serbs started it, deciding they would drive out those of their Kosovar Albanian neighbors who they didn’t murder. This whole fight was based on a cultural ideology and history too convoluted and, frankly, too tiresome and dumb to explain here. Suffice it to say, the Serbs played the force card and they chose poorly. Most of the ruins were of the Serbs’ and their allies’ villages, the wreckage payback by the very people they picked a fight with.”

In the end, cities are ruined and a bunch of creepy Antifa foot soldiers will face federal charges. The Democrat hierarchy will skate and purchase their next product from Acme.

All this is avoidable. For all the money Wile E. Coyote spent on dud rockets and malfunctioning catapults, he could have lived on KFC for the rest of his life.

I have no idea why Democrats think they can carry out a revolution with a brigade of Pajama Boys.

But they are having a good time cos-playing the French resistance. They should pace themselves because they will have to do it for another 4 years come November.
