Who Will Be The Vindicator To ‘Cancel’ China? Bob Maistros

“U.S. trade deficit hits record $75.7 billion in June … So far this year, the goods deficit with China, the largest that the United States runs with any country, totals $158.5 billion, an increase of 19.2% compared to the same period in 2020.” — APNews
For once the Bidenites have something right: Paramount Leader Xi isn’t about to scribble a check amounting to nearly half our annual gross domestic product.
And why should he when China shockingly came out of COVID in an even stronger position vis-à-vis the U.S. economically?
Not to mention that the Chinese are the tightwad tyrants who of late, according to the Wall Street Journal, have “blown up what would have been the world’s largest initial public offering, launched probes into some of (China’s) biggest technology companies, and wiped out more than $1 trillion in market value while investors scramble for cover.”
The goal? “(E)nsuring companies do more to serve the Communist Party’s economic, social and national-security concerns.”
But then that’s always the Chinese goal. More sops to Xi and his bloodthirsty brethren, at your expense. More record surpluses. More displaced American jobs. More access to (and theft of) U.S. intellectual property as table stakes for access to their 1.45 billion-person-strong market. More leverage over our business, entertainment, education and cultural institutions.
Any American bill to China could go way beyond COVID – and economic harm. As Paul Boardman, founder of the Decouple China PAC, points out, “If you support China in any way – from buying their products, investing there or selling them U.S. land to educating their CCP (Chinese Communist Party)-backed students – you condone, aid and abet live body part harvesting, slavery, genocide and fascism, to name just a few of a long list of CCP daily atrocities to eliminate freedom and the rule of law on earth.”
Now, Trump was a little closer with another proposal for 100% tariffs on Chinese goods.
But the only real way to make such blackguards pay is how you deal with any bully ordering you to hand over your lunch money: punch him in the nose and tell him to get lost.
Or in the language our current culture can understand: You “cancel” them.
Deny them access to our markets, our industry, our technology, our jobs, our money, our college slots. All of all of it. Boardman’s organization has the right idea: “100% decoupling.”
Yet there’s a problem with that approach as well. A communications guru with whom this correspondent associates teaches that every political narrative can be broken down simply: Villain. Victim. Vindicator.
It’s clear here who the Villain is. And the Victim – all Americans via the many ways the Chinese afflict us.
But who will be the Vindicator to lead in taking real, not merely rhetorical, action to cut Xi Jinping and the lying, murderous despots surrounding him off at the knees?
Because Xi has used his nation’s enormous leverage to do the canceling, not be canceled, in the face of spineless American elites.
Start with Sleepy Joe’s milquetoast foreign policy team, which met up with its Middle Kingdom opposite number earlier this year and was promptly b-slapped, to put it mildly. With an in-your-face diatribe on a racist U.S. of A that “has exercised long-arm jurisdiction and suppression and overstretched the national security through the use of force or financial hegemony.”
Our secretary of state’s bold answer: nobody’s perfect.
Well, what about the rest of the political class, on either side of the aisle, or members of the media? Fugeddabadit. Many whimpered like whipped puppies for various constituencies allegedly hurt by “Trump’s trade war.”
The bootlicking business community that, per Mashable, “alter(s) products and company materials at the behest of Chinese authorities”? Pshaw.
The world of sports and entertainment? Like the NBA, which threw one of its own general managers under the bus for praising courageous Hong Kong protesters? Disney, which in the credits to “Mulan” offered “special thanks” to leaders of the region where China holds some 1 million Muslims in concentration camps? Stars like John Cena, who groveled for Chinese forgiveness after referring to Taiwan as a country, or Hollywood producers who regularly self-censor even U.S. releases?
Iconoclastic author and Ohio Senate candidate J.D. Vance put his finger on the missing element in a recent speech in noting how he too had been personally “canceled” by clients when previous comments were deliberately mischaracterized as racist.
“So much of what needs to happen in the conservative movement these days is courage,” Vance asserted. “Courage to respond to the threats and the reactions of the left. Courage to stand on principle. Courage to offer new ideas to new challenges.”
Is there anyone, anywhere who will summon the courage to stand up in the face of Chinese threats? To stand on principle against its evil ways? To offer new ideas to counter the existential challenge of our time?
In short, to be the “Vindicator” to cancel China?
As trade deficits and COVID damage mount, America is watching. And waiting.
