Biden’s Border Botch Is No Accident

The massive influx of illegal immigrants on our nation’s southern border almost defies description. The Biden administration has actively sought this disaster in a bid to undermine the integrity of both our border and our nation’s rule of law. President Joe Biden is responsible for this human crisis, and should answer for it.
We’re already seeing 200,000 or so people each month reach our borders. But things have changed dramatically.
After the July 22 assassination of Haiti’s president, some 15,000 Haitians showed up, many in Del Rio, Texas, swelling the ranks of the thousands of Central Americans and Mexican citizens already at the border waiting to come across. Another 20,000 or so Haitians might soon be on their way from South America, according to NBC News.
Meanwhile, thousands more have already been released into the U.S., with little screening, while just a relative handful have been sent back to their country, according to news reports.
As the Associated Press noted:
Many Haitian migrants in Del Rio are being released in the United States, according to two U.S. officials, undercutting the Biden administration’s public statements that the thousands in the camp faced immediate expulsion to Haiti.
Haitians have been freed on a ‘very, very large scale’ in recent days, one official said Tuesday. The official, who was not authorized to discuss the matter and thus spoke on condition of anonymity, put the figure in the thousands.
AP adds that “Criteria for deciding who is flown to Haiti and who is released in the U.S. are a mystery,” but it’s really not. The administration has decided not to send families with children, or children alone, back to Haiti. So they’re appearing in droves.
This may just be the tip of a very large iceberg. Biden’s plans include doubling the current level of refugees admitted each year to 125,000.
What’s worse, those who stay aren’t required to be vaccinated before being admitted, even though American workers are. Will we see an open-border-driven surge of new COVID cases this fall? Stay tuned.
Rather than cover this disaster, the U.S. media have played up sensational video footage appearing to show U.S. Border Patrol officers on horses “whipping” Haitians. It has everything the leftist media love: Bad cops, alleged racism and brutality. The only problem is, it’s false.
Amid all this chaos, 26 governors, including some Democrats, have requested a meeting with Biden to find ways to end the border crisis. The last two months have been the largest for illegal immigrant apprehensions in more than 21 years, with 420,000 people nabbed.
The more desperate governors, including those from border states such as Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott, and Arizona, Gov. Doug Ducey, are deploying National Guard troops to back up the Border Patrol.
“The negative impacts of an unenforced border policy on the American people can no longer be ignored,” the governors noted in their letter to Biden. “Border apprehensions are up almost 500% compared to last year, totaling more than 1.3 million – more people than the populations of nine U.S. states.”
What can possibly be behind such an insane policy, which contrasts sharply with President Donald Trump’s highly successful “Stay In Mexico” policy? Widely criticized by the left, it slashed illegal crossings and slowed the flood of would-be immigrants to the border.
Former chief of border security, Rodney S. Scott, who served both Trump and Biden, has the answer. In a letter to both Democrat and Republican leaders in the Senate and the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, he makes some stunning allegations:
“Common sense border security recommendations from experienced career professionals are being ignored and stymied by inexperienced political appointees,” Scott wrote. “The Biden administration’s team at DHS is laser-focused on expediting the flow of migrants into the U.S. and downplaying the significant vulnerability this creates for terrorists, narcotics smugglers, human traffickers, and even hostile nations to gain access to our homeland.”
That powerful condemnation of Biden’s policy comes not from a partisan politician but from a border security official who recently retired after nearly 30 years experience protecting the U.S. border.
In short, this isn’t mere incompetence or the unforeseen consequences of a misbegotten policy; it’s intentional.
But if so, what could the possible reason be? The answer, of course, is that the far-left Democratic Party dislikes this country and its recalcitrant, non-compliant citizens so much that it wants to replace them with people from failed states.
The idea, of course, is that bringing in impoverished people from other countries will create a massive underclass, one with little education, an inability to speak the majority tongue, and a lack of understanding of America’s unique constitutional tradition.
In short, they will become Democrats. That, Democrats hope, will cement their position as the dominant party in America. With never-ending welfare for all, it will be “Make America Dependent Again,” MADA. That, at least, is what that party’s elected and unelected officials appear to want.
In the $3.5 trillion spending bill the Democrats have pushed so hard for, they’ve included sweeping amnesty provisions and major increases in immigration that would result in as many as 8 million new citizens, virtually overnight.
Here at Issues & Insights, we’re not against immigration. Ordered, lawful immigration that allows in those who are most likely to thrive and help build a strong future for America is much desired. This isn’t about xenophobia or race or any other buzzword of the left.
The simple fact is, countries that don’t control their borders cease to be countries. Biden and the Democrats in Congress are abrogating their constitutional, sworn duty to protect this country from such lawless mayhem. They’ve failed on purpose.
The only remedy is impeachment. Four Republicans in Congress have already proposed just that. Of course, with Democrats in control, it’ll never happen. So voters take note: The alternative is to vote them all out of office, as soon as you can. Before America as we know it is erased.
