The Battle of Brittney Biden hands Putin a big win on the eastern front. by Lloyd Billingsley

Bringing home Brittney Griner was an easy call for the Biden Junta, an “equity” demo, in the run-up to Christmas, that gives the Delaware Democrat the appearance of a victory. For all but the willfully blind, the trade of a basketball player for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout was an exceptionally bad deal.
Bout has sold sophisticated Russian weaponry to terrorist groups and Communist revolutionaries alike. Before his capture in a sting operation, Bout was poised to sell 100 surface-to-air missiles, 20,000 AK-47 rifles, and five tons of explosives to FARC the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia. “We are together in this,” Bout explained, the Americans “are my enemies also.”
This global arms dealer was traded straight across for a basketball player who brought marijuana products into Russia and pleaded guilty to charges.
“This is playing Putin’s game,” former CIA man John Sipher tweeted “Bout was an actual criminal charged through a credible legal process recognized around the world. Griner was a hostage taken in order to extort us.” This successful extortion traces back to the composite character David Garrow described in Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama.
As Paul Kengor noted in The Communist: Frank Marshall Davis: The Untold Story of Barack Obama’s Mentor, Obama’s strongest influence was an African American Communist dedicated to an all-white Soviet dictatorship. American missile defense played a major role in taking down the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Russia also objected to American missile defense and Obama was hopeful for change.
One of his first actions, in 2009, was to scrap missile defense for US allies Poland and the Czech Republic. In 2012 Obama told Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that “missile defense” could “be solved.” So Medvedev was to tell Vladimir Putin that “after my election I will have more flexibility” so Putin should give him “more space.”
Medved told the American “I will transmit this information to Vladimir,” and the former KGB man got the message. The composite character was simply being consistent with his record. As a U.S. senator, Obama was already at the forefront of disarming Ukraine.
True to form, in 2014, when Russia annexed the Crimea, the composite character failed to provide arms to Ukraine. “President Barack Obama stuck to his refusal to provide weapons or other lethal military gear to Ukraine,” notes a September 18, 2014 news report, “despite a passionate appeal for help in fighting pro-Russia rebels by Ukraine’s president.”
If the embattled Ukrainians, victims of Stalinist genocide in the 1930s, thought Obama wanted Putin to get Ukraine back it would be hard to blame them. By trading a criminal for a hostage, the Biden Junta also plays Putin’s game, but it’s debatable whether it was, as some have suggested, the worst deal in history.
In 2014, the same year he denied arms to Ukraine, Obama traded U.S Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl for five high-level Taliban detainees held at Guantanamo Bay. Abdul Haq Wasiq was the Taliban’s intelligence minister, Mohammad Fazi served as army chief, and Khairulla Khairkhah was minister of information and culture. Norullah Noori was governor of two Afghan provinces and along with Taliban detainee Mohammad Fazi accused of ordering massacres of ethnic Hazara, Tajik and Uzbek communities.
By 2021, four of the released detainees, the worst of the worst, were part of the Taliban’s government in Afghanistan. Abdul Haq Wasiq, is Taliban intelligence director and Norullah Noori minister of borders and tribal affairs. Mohammad Fazi serves as deputy defense minister, and Khairulla Khairkhah minister of information and culture.
When he announced the deal in a Rose Garden ceremony, the president said “The United States of America does not ever leave our men and women in uniform behind.” That wasn’t exactly the case after Biden abandoned Afghanistan to the Taliban in exchange for nothing. The Delaware Democrat left Americans behind and even hired the Taliban for airport security. In short order, a terrorist bomb claimed the lives of 13 American service personnel.
That too might be worse than the Griner deal, which also left behind former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan, imprisoned in Russia for nearly four years on espionage charges the United States has called false. Biden’s deal also abandoned Marc Fogel, 60, a Pennsylvania teacher imprisoned for bringing medical marijuana into Russia.
As they rot in a Russian prison, these hostages have plenty to ponder. All things considered Biden’s deal is a clear victory for Putin, and that should come as no surprise.
In Obama’s fundamental transformation of the United States, his domestic opposition replaces terrorists and foreign adversaries as the greatest threat to the nation. In similar style, Biden brands anyone who wants to make America great a domestic terrorist, violent extremist and so forth. Should that be doubted, check out Biden’s September 1 hate speech, but there’s more to it.
As Robert Gates noted in Duty: Memoirs of A Secretary of State at War, the Obama administration did not want American troops to be seen as victorious over insurgent enemies. Joe Biden has opened the border to all comers, and is already on record that the Chinese are “not bad folks” and his handlers know which way they would run.
If an actual military showdown with China, Russia, or Iran were to takes place, things could get exciting. Meanwhile, the struggle against domestic tyranny, Islamic terrorism and foreign adversaries, is the struggle of memory against forgetting.
