Two flags. Same evil. Only one is condemned. Diane Bederman

These two flags represent the death of Jews, as a people and as a country.
We are living in a time when Jew hatred is once again condoned. There is no difference in the messaging between the Nazis and Muslims, today, who carry their flag while screaming “Palestine will be free from the River to the Sea.”
While the Swastika, the Nazi flag, represents the annihilation of all Jews, let us not forget that the Palestinian Flag, which represents a non-existent country, that according to the “Palestinians” includes the STATE OF ISRAEL. “Palestine will be free from the river to the sea.” Where is Israel? In other words, the flag is a call for the eradication of Israel. But that’s OK in Canada and apparently around the world.
The Nazi flag, the Swastika, as a symbol, became associated with the idea of a racially “pure” state. The swastika became the most recognizable symbol of Nazi propaganda. The Reich flag became associated with hateful laws against the Jews. The government passed the Law for the Protection of German Blood and German Honor, which prohibited marriages and sexual relations between citizens of “German or those of kindred blood” and Jews.
The Palestinian flag stands for a Muslim only state that encompasses Israel, Judea and Samaria. In other words, the ethnic cleansing of all Jews and the elimination of the only Jewish state. The roots of the Palestinian flag go back to the days of the Arab nationalist movement on the eve of World War I, and especially to al-Fatat (the Young Arab Society ), which was founded in Paris in 1911, and the Ottoman Party for Administrative Decentralization, founded in Cairo in 1913. The leaders of these movements wanted to create a symbol and emblem that Arab provinces could adopt when they broke free from Ottoman rule. The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) formally endorsed the flag on December 1, 1964.The PLO’s legislature, the Palestine National Council (PNC), was composed of members from the civilian population of various Palestinian communities, and its charter (the Palestine National Charter, or Covenant) set out the goals of the organization, which included the complete elimination of Israeli sovereignty in Palestine and the destruction of the State of Israel.
In Canada, Prime Minister Trudeau was beside himself when it was reported that ONE Nazi flag was seen at the Freedom Convoy 2022. The media in Canada obsessed over the Nazi Flag, but seem to be silent when they see the waving of the Palestinian flag.
“Freedom of expression, assembly and association are cornerstones of democracy. But Nazi symbolism, racist imagery, and desecration of war memorials are not.”
“We won’t give in to those who fly racist flags. We won’t cave to those who engage in vandalism or dishonour the memory of our veterans.”
But, when Muslims for Palestine protest for 13 weeks in Ottawa – silence from our PM and the police. Were bank accounts frozen? Were criminal charges laid? Oh wait, once protesters were off Parliament Hill and back on municipal property, near the corner of Wellington and Elgin streets, the officials cracked down, fining at least two people for noise violations.
And where was the shock when a Hamas flag was flying in Ottawa?
Canada designated Hamas, the militant Palestinian group that has been negotiating the failed ceasefire with Israel, a terrorist organization in 2002.
Where are the politicians and the media when Jewish communities are under attack by Muslim protesters?
Men clad in keffiyehs have led Muslim prayer services right in the middle of roads in Toronto’s Jewish community, the largest Jewish community in Canada. Crowds carrying Palestinian flags and placards comparing Zionism to Nazism blockaded streets and intersections surrounding a much traveled overpass. Demonstrators set off red and green smoke bombs and kept up a steady stream of honking and bullhorn-amplified chants of “free, free Palestine.” Demonstrators called the neighborhood a “Zionist-infested area.”
Meanwhile, Toronto Police were handing out coffee to the Palestinians protesters while they blocked access to the community. Totally different response from the treatment of Canadians at the Freedom Convoy.
Muslims protesting in the Jewish Community in Toronto
The explanation for this action:
“Due to public safety concerns, the Avenue Road overpass is now closed. There will be no access to the bridge. Police are on scene to enforce this in order to keep demonstrators, and passing traffic safe Stay tuned for updates.”
“Our officers are managing a dynamic situation.
In performing a helpful act today, our officer’s motivation was to help keep tensions low and should not be interpreted as showing support for any cause or group.
Our officers continue to work to de-escalate these demonstrations” https://t.co/iQUcfacteo— Laura Brabant (@LBrabant_TPS) January 6, 2024
The problem that Police services ignored: “This isn’t a typical protest site. It’s an overpass in the heart of a residential neighborhood, one that’s home to many Jewish families. Toronto cannot become a city where a few dozen ‘activists’ can harm an entire neighborhood on a near-daily basis.”
Sadly, the Jewish community is not treated with the same respect as the Muslim communities.
Why is it “Islamophobia”to call out Islam as it screams for the death of all Jews and now the eradication of the only Jewish country in the world, yet there is almost dead silence when Jew hatred is shared?
In 2017 there was a march against Islam in Toronto, Canada.
Within hours all of Toronto was in an uproar.
Then Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne tweeted:
There is no place for Islamophobia in Ontario. Thankful for those who stand with the Islamic community against hate
Then Mayor John Tory tweeted:
Islamophobia has NO place in our city. I’ve visited Masjid Toronto many times & denounce all acts of hate towards our Muslim citizens.
Where are the tweets against the calls to eradicate Israel by those who carry the Palestinian flag? Where is the sturm and drang against the protests blocking streets and stores and interfering with Christmas and New Years?
The connection between Nazism and Islam’s call for the eradication of all Jews, including the Jewish state of Israel, run deep. Nazism and Islam have been best friends forever.
The Yellow Star, forced upon Jews in Nazi controlled areas, came from Islam. Muslim rulers in the 8thC CE were the first to introduce the badge to identify Jews and Christians within the Muslim population.
During WWII:
Hitler said to Himmler and Heydrich in Hitler’s command headquarters October 25, 1941:
“This criminal race has the two million dead of the (First) World War on their conscience, and now hundreds of thousands. Let no one say to me: we cannot send them into the mire. Who concerns themselves about our men? It is good if preceding us is the terror that we are exterminating the Jews. The attempt to found a Jewish state will fail.”
Hitler said to Hajj Amin al-Husseini (the Mufti of Jerusalem)November 28, 1941:
“…The sole German objective in the region will be to liquidate all Jews who live in Arab countries under the patronage of Great Britain.”
Never Forget what Islam says about the Jews.
Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: ‘You (i.e. Muslims) will fight against the Jews and you will gain victory over them. The stones will (betray them) saying: ‘O ‘Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.’
Here are the Nazi roots of the Muslim Brotherhood
The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna. Hamas, al-Qaeda, Islamic Jihad and ISIS, the Muslim Brotherhood base much of their ideology on the teachings of several educators and philosophers who were influenced by Adolf Hitler.
Such was al-Banna’s hero worship of the Nazi leader, he had Hitler’s autobiography and political anthology, Mein Kampf (My Struggle), translated into Arabic, changing the title to My Jihad. Al-Banna was so obsessed with the Nazis, he also had copies of their anti-Semitic newspaper Der Sturmer, Along with the Nazi ideals that al-Banna incorporated into the Muslim Brotherhood, came an intense hatred of Jews, and a plan to eradicate all Jews in the Middle East. During World War II, the Muslim Brotherhood in both Egypt and Palestine strongly supported the Nazis, an association that continued until the fall of the Third Reich. Throughout those years of support, the Muslim Brotherhood’s leadership would organize mass demonstrations, meting out extreme violence against the Jewish community.
Another leading member of the Muslim Brotherhood, who ran its branch in Palestine was Haj Amin al-Husseini. Such was al-Husseinis’ intense hatred for the Jews, with the beginning of Hitler’s Final Solution program coinciding with his arrival, many observers believe he actively participated in the Holocaust
And, today, the roots still run deep.

If the Nazi flag is “verboten” because of its connection to the annihilation of Jews, why is the Palestinian flag free to be flown?
Again I ask, why is the Nazi flag prohibited but not the Palestinian flag?
