Outrageous! The pathetic “academy” has caved to the sandstorms of the left, and reinstated the postule known as Kristofer Petersen-Overton to teach a course on Middle East politics. His peurile mewling against Israel’s “occupation” of Gaza could double as the comic book metaphor for angry youth railing against the establishment. Gag. And, of course, the likes of Stephen Walt and assorted, sordid, colleagues joined in a cosmic screech of “academic freedom” that shattered the will of Brooklyn College.
Is this cretin likely to be a balanced instructor? Decide for yourself. Read what he describes as what may be the basis for his dissertation, “BEYOND THE THRESHOLD OF ATROCITY: NATIONALISM, BIOPOWER & ISRAEL’S OCCUPATION OF GAZA” Here. Just for instance, check out fn # 24: “As a consequence of the economic embargo and Israel’s closure policie, gazan hospitals are drastically undersupplied and thus lack the ability totreat a number of serious illnesses. Since 2007, Israel has greatly reduced travel permission for terminally ill Gazans, causing many to die for lack of treatment.” No citation. In fact, Hamas has criticized Fatah for failing to provide the necessary medicines, and Fatah’s response has been that Hamas fired (Fatah-aligned) experienced health workers for political reasons and there were not qualified providers to administer the medicine.
