Investigators will hone in on what transpired under the last four FBI directors: McCabe (lied four times to federal investigators and oversaw fake FISA warrants); Comey (leaked confidential memos of private presidential conversations, feigned amnesia 245 times while under oath before a congressional committee, and used the FBI as an extension of the Clinton campaign’s smear efforts); Mueller (absurdly under oath claimed that he knew nothing of the Steele dossier and Fusion GPS, both synonymous with lying and both jumpstarted his own investigations); and Wray (oversaw the Virginia school board meetings surveillance, the Trump home raid, the leg irons on Peter Navarro, the performance-art nocturnal wake-up of James O’Keefe, and the cell phone grabs of former Trump advisors).
The party that formerly railed about the “military-industrial complex” now finds the Pentagon’s chain of command the most efficient way of mandating woke indoctrination, politicizing the armed forces, and weeding out the politically suspect.
The army may be 50 percent short of its annual recruitment targets (we wonder why?), the public may express historical negative appraisals of Pentagon efficacy (in a recent poll only 45 percent voiced real confidence in the U.S. military), the Pentagon diversity/equity/inclusion czar may spout racist diatribes, the Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs may be hunting the white-rage unicorn while overseeing the worst military disaster of the last 50 years in Afghanistan, the retired 4-star cohort may routinely and with arrogance violate Article 88 of their own Uniform Code of Military Justice, but no matter: we are told it is diverse and uses the right pronouns. That fact is surely worth a $15 billion carrier or two, or deters the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, and leaves the Iranians terrified. The pride flag in Kabul was worth a division?
The now revolutionary party that always preached about the sanctity of the radical, activist Warren Supreme Court, now wages war on individual justices.
The latter justices are swarmed in restaurants, picketed at home, and on one occasion threatened by an assassin in their neighborhood. The court itself is decried as “illegitimate” by the White House and leftwing senators. Both promise to win the Senate and then pack it—ending the 160-year-old nine justice bench.
The former minority leader of the Senate, Chuck Schumer led wild protestors to the very doors of the court to scream, “I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you…” That warning is not seen by the Left as a threat that has had eerie consequences, as much as effective enticements designed to message the justices: “Swing leftwing like Souter, Kennedy, and O’Connor, and all this stuff stops.”
The Party that based the entire Civil Rights movement on “content of our character” integration now pushes segregated dorms, safe spaces, graduations, and reparatory admissions and hiring based on race. As noted, we have reached the point where some of the national top elected officials, from mayors to district officials to Senate candidates, now routinely tweet and revel in abject racism.
The Party that once warned about the extremes of Joe McCarthy now trumps his excesses, as the president libels half the country as dangerous insurrectionists on grounds that they stubbornly fight too effectively his leftist agendas. It is Democrats not right-wing nuts that set up ministry of truths, have the FBI to partner with social media to censure free expression, and put people in solitary confinement without charges by smearing them as “insurrectionists.”
What unites the Covington Kids lie, the Jussie Smollétt hoax, the Duke Lacrosse and Volleyball smears, the Russian collusion fraud, and the Steele dossier concoction is the complete absence of apology and contrition. Indeed, the more bizarre the hoax, the more the hoaxers double-down, as if it is racist to expose a hoax, as if it could be true even though it is not. A Pulitzer Prize for mythologizing the Russian hoax?
To paraphrase the late Sen. Harry Reid, who after falsely smearing Mitt Romney as a tax cheat, preened that such lies worked, didn’t they?
