Donald Trump boarded a garbage truck on Wednesday evening — one day after President Joe Biden called Trump supporters “garbage” — “in honor of Kamala and Joe,” Trump said.

The dig comes one day after Biden slammed Trump voters as “garbage” on a Zoom call hosted by a progressive Latino group.

Campaigning in Green Bay, Wis., Trump donned an orange vest to ride a garbage vehicle with “Make America Great Again 2024” plastered on its side. It was a “big, beautiful MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN Garbage Truck,” Trump said.

“How do you like my garbage truck?” Trump asked reporters. “This truck is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden. . . . Joe Biden should be ashamed of himself, if he knows what he’s even doing, and she should be ashamed.”

Biden referred to Trump voters as “garbage” on Tuesday, when he said, “Just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage. The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.”

Kamala Harris’s campaign has distanced itself from Biden’s gaffe, with Harris saying on Wednesday, “I strongly disagree with any criticism of people based on who they vote for.”

“You heard my speech last night. I believe the work that I do is about representing all the people, whether they support me or not. I will be a President for all Americans,” she said to reporters from the Joint Base Andrews.

Biden himself tried to ameliorate his comments, saying on X that he “referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump’s supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage,” not Trump’s supporters as garbage.

“Which is the only word I can think of to describe it,” Biden continued. “His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That’s all I meant to say. The comments at that rally don’t reflect who we are as a nation.”

Vivek Ramaswamy arrived to a Trump campaign event on the back of a garbage truck Wednesday, piggybacking off of Biden’s comments.

“America is ready for us to TAKE OUT THE TRASH in this election,” Ramaswamy said on social media. “Proud to be rolling up in a garbage truck to a Trump campaign event in North Carolina shortly. Going to clean up some actual trash on the streets first.”
