‘Radicals’ Are Racist Criminals Driving America towards the abyss. David Horowitz

https://www.dailywire.com/

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2022/06/radicals-are-racist-criminals-david-horowitz/

The crisis currently facing our nation is a crisis of faith – faith in the Constitution that has shaped our destiny, faith in the rule of law, and faith in the principle of equality before the law. The root cause of the lawlessness that is consuming our country is the monopoly of the executive power in Washington by a political party that has fallen under the control of the radical Left. This Left describes itself as “progressive,” but is focused on the goal of “re-imagining” American institutions and principles, in other words of dismantling the constitutional order that created the prosperity and freedoms that have shaped this country since its beginnings.

Having been born into this political Left and then rejected it, I have acquired an intimate perspective on its nature, and the threat it poses to the American future, which is grave. I was raised by Communists who always referred to themselves as “progressives,” and were sworn enemies of America and its institutions, as was I. We saw ourselves as warriors for social justice, acting on the “right side” of history.

We could not have been more mistaken. The “moral arc” of history is not “bent towards justice,” as progressives like to say. If it were, the 20th Century would be the most enlightened instead of the scene of the greatest atrocities and oppressions on human record. Worse yet, for this progressive myth, these atrocities and oppressions were perpetrated by progressives in the name of “social justice.”

The practical achievement of the revolutionaries was the dismantling of whole societies, and their reconstruction as national prisons, and slave labor camps. Supported by progressives everywhere, Communists bankrupted whole continents while killing more than 100 million people – in peacetime – in order to realize their radical schemes. Their atrocities and failures continued until the day they saw their progressive future collapse under its own weight. This failure was entirely predictable because as every similar attempt to “re-imagine society” and change it by force has shown, it is simply beyond the power of human beings to create a “just” world.

Forty years ago, a series of tragic events that I have described in my autobiography, “Radical Son,” stopped me in my tracks, and caused me to re-evaluate what I had believed until then. These second thoughts turned me against the cause to which I had been devoted since my youth, and which I now saw as a threat to everything human beings hold dear. Most of my generation of radicals, however, chose to continue on their destructive course. Over the next decades I watched the radical movement I was born into infiltrate and then take control of the Democratic Party and the nation’s cultural institutions, until one of its own, Barack Obama, became President of the United States.

How’s That January 6 ‘Blockbuster’ Working Out for Dems?By Kyle Smith

https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/hows-that-january-6-blockbuster-working-out-for-dems/?utm_

Across all networks, something like 20 million people tuned in to the opening night of the January 6 hearings in Congress. That supposed “blockbuster” video was going to Change Everything. I guessed at the time that only a handful of political obsessives were paying attention. Now, we’ve got several days of polling data and . . . if the needle has moved, these eyes can’t detect it.

In three polls listed on RealClearPolitics quizzing voters starting last Friday, the generic congressional ballot has been Democrats plus two, Republicans plus four, Republicans plus three. Democrats have had an outright lead in this poll dozens of times this year (albeit only one time this month), so not much has changed there. Democrats typically need a large lead in the generic ballot to win Congress; if it’s close, Republicans take the House.

As for President Biden’s job approval rating, his RCP average in polls is at 39.6. In polls that started since last Friday, his approval rating has notched a 40, 44, 40, 39, and 43. So Biden is one tenth of a point above his all-time low, which he hit last Thursday. Do you see a January 6 bounce? I don’t. The Democrats have been trying to make hay of it all year, and the voters don’t seem to be paying it much mind.

The Democrats’ Plot to Subvert the Supreme Court on Abortion By Dan McLaughlin

https://www.nationalreview.com/2022/06/the-democrats-plot-to-subvert-the-supreme-court-on-abortion/

The Biden administration is considering unilateral executive actions that would federalize abortion law, undermining democracy in the states.

If the Supreme Court, as expected, overturns Roe v. Wade later this month, the battle over abortion should return to the states. With Roe’s federal court-imposed national “solution” finally revealed as a fraud and a failure, each state will be free to ban abortion, to enshrine a right to abortion, or to find some middle ground between those two options. Some states already have pro-life or pro-choice amendments in their state constitutions, and some will have them on the ballot this year (or in 2023 or 2024). Others may choose a path on the issue legislatively, or have those choices made for them by state courts.

Or, that’s how it should be, anyway: Senate Democrats and the Biden administration are now openly plotting to undermine those democratic choices if and when the Court overturns Roe.

If the federal government abides by current law, it will have little say in the regulation of abortion in the states. Congress has not passed any law banning or protecting abortion nationwide outside of the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003 (which was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2007). Neither party has anywhere near the votes right now to pass further federal abortion laws. So, even aside from its desirability in the abstract, federal regulation one way or the other should be off the table unless and until there is a congressional majority sufficiently large enough to pass it, and a president willing to sign it.

Existing federally funded programs should likewise play only a minor role in what abortion laws states can enforce. The Hyde amendment bars federal funding of abortions in most federal programs, a prohibition that is incorporated by statute in some of those programs; states wishing to fund abortions have to do so with their own money.

Who’s the Real Threat to Democracy? By Chris Queen

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/chris-queen/2022/06/15/whos-the-real-threat-to-democracy-n1605633

Today’s Democrat Party likes to call everything they don’t like a “threat to democracy.” If someone cuts a Democrat off in traffic, it’s a threat to democracy. And the list of threats grows longer every day.

Who’s the real threat to democracy? Democrats want you to think that the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, was an attempt to topple the framework of American government, that laws securing the votes of citizens are meant to suppress votes for Democrats, and that Republicans push the most extreme candidates into the spotlight.

But it doesn’t take much to figure out that the Democrats are the ones gaming the system with the goal of entrenching their own power. Let’s take a look at how the Democratic party is the threat to the democracy they claim to want to protect.

I’ll start by explaining how the Democrats are propping up Republican candidates whom they think will lose to Democrats in the midterms and beyond. Earlier this week, Josh Kraushaar wrote over at National Journal about this phenomenon.

“Democrats are intervening aggressively in Republican primaries, looking to promote MAGA-aligned candidates that have natural appeal to a right-wing electorate but are likely losers in a general election.” Kraushaar writes. “Their under-the-radar meddling is already paying dividends, potentially taking several big-state governor’s races off the table for Republicans, even given the historically strong political environment for the GOP. The outside engagement is also endangering Republican prospects in a sleeper Senate race.”

A Tyranny Brews In Washington

https://issuesinsights.com/2022/06/17/a-tyranny-brews-in-washington/

One of the hallmarks of authoritarianism is the crushing of free expression. Speaking against the state is not allowed. What, then, to make of the Biden’s administration’s efforts to silence Americans?

We’ve editorialized against the Disinformation Governance Board, which is wounded though not as dead yet as it should be. That’s but one example. Add to that the White House’s campaign to enlist the private sector in muzzling voices that dare oppose the loony green energy policies Democrats have been trying to force on the country for decades. It’s not just the Second Amendment this administration wants to erase, it’s the first one, too.

Many Americans are skeptical of the promises that renewables like wind and solar will not only meet this country’s energy needs but will do it at low cost. We have many times over the years shown why this distrust is warranted. So have our valued contributors, most recently when H. Sterling Burnett of the Heartland Institute wrote that “belief that wind, solar, batteries, and electric vehicles combined can effectively and cheaply power the nation … is foolish and belied by existing evidence.”

I&I has also made the case over and over, as we did last month, that the claims that man is overheating his only planet are, well, overheated themselves. Doing so has probably put us on a White House blacklist of dissenters whose ideas have to be squashed. We think of it as an honor.

What the January 6 Committee Might Have Been A real committee would also investigate the other, far larger and more lethal riots on iconic federal property months earlier. By Victor Davis Hanson

https://amgreatness.com/2022/06/15/what-the-january-6-committee-might-have-been/

Congress should investigate fully the January 6 riot at the Capitol—and similar recent riots at iconic federal sites.

But unfortunately, it never will. Why not?

The current committee is not bipartisan. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) forbade Republican nominees traditionally selected by the House minority leader to serve on the committee.

No speaker had ever before rejected the minority party’s nominees to a select House committee.

Pelosi’s own cynical criteria for Republican participation were twofold: Any willing minority Republican members had to have voted to impeach Donald Trump while having no realistic chance of being reelected in 2022.

Of some 210 Republican House members, that left just Representatives Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) who were willing and able to fit Pelosi’s profile.

A real investigation would have ignited argumentation, cross-examination, and disagreements— the sort of give-and-take for which congressional committees are famous.

In contrast, the January 6 show trial features no dissenting views. Its subtext was right out of the Soviet minister of Internal Affairs Lavrentiy Pavlovich Beria’s credo: “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime”.

If Donald Trump was not considering a third run for the presidency, would the committee even have existed?

Its slick Hollywood-produced optics demonstrate that the committee has no interest in inconvenient facts. Why did a Capitol officer lethally shoot a petite unarmed woman entering a Capitol window? And why was the officer’s identity and, indeed all information about his record, withheld from the public?

Why did the committee not investigate whether large numbers of FBI agents and informants were ubiquitous among the crowd? After all, progressive New York Times reporter Matthew Rosenberg who was there January 6, claimed, “There were a ton of FBI informants amongst the people who attacked the Capitol.”

‘Open Season’: Pro-Abortion Terrorist Group Vows to Ramp Up Violence against Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers By Caroline Downey

https://www.nationalreview.com/news/open-season-pro-abortion-terrorist-group-vows-to-ramp-up-violence-against-pro-life-pregnancy-centers/

Pro-abortion terrorist group Jane’s Revenge, which has claimed credit for a string of recent attacks on pregnancy centers across the country, on Tuesday declared “open season” on pro-life organizations as the Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health draws closer.

In a statement posted by a radical leftist news website on Tuesday, the organization vowed to attack any pro-life group that “doesn’t close their doors.” Those pro-life organizations that do shut down will be spared, the group said, “but until you do, it’s open season, and we know where your operations are.”

“Through attacking, we find joy, courage, and strip the veneer of impenetrability held by these violent institutions,” the statement said. “Everyone with the urge to paint, to burn, to cut, to jam: now is the time. Go forth and manifest the things you wish to see.”

Jane’s Revenge took responsibility for the last week’s attack on a CompassCare pro-life Christian pregnancy facility in Buffalo, N.Y., in which it firebombed the office, shattering glass and torching the interior. They left the ominous message that’s been spray painted at the scene of other attacks across the country: “If abortions aren’t safe, then you aren’t either.”

The terrorist group also owned up to other recent incidents of intimidation in “Madison WI, Ft. Collins CO, Reisertown MA, Olympia WA, Des Moines IA, Lynwood WA, Washington DC, Ashville NC, Buffalo NY, Hollywood FL, Vancouver WA, Frederick MA, Denton TX, Gresham OR, Eugene OR, Portland OR, among others.”

“We work in countless locations invisibly,” the group said.

The Biden Recession Has Arrived

https://issuesinsights.com/2022/06/16/bidens-recession-from-risk-to-real/

“Joe Biden let it happen by following the awful advice of his White House advisers and the far-left Clown College he calls a Cabinet, possibly the most inept collection of political ideologues in our nation’s history. And that’s saying a lot.”

No doubt about it, the economic news in recent weeks has been relentlessly negative. Indicator after indicator shows activity plunging sharply in key parts of the economy. Now, a widely followed indicator signals economic growth is likely to be zero in the current quarter, after the first quarter’s “unexpected” 1.4% decline.

Buckle up, looks like we’re entering a recession, folks.

Let’s review just some of the economic carnage of recent days:

The Fed raised interest rates by 3/4 of a percentage point on Wednesday, the largest hike since 1994, as the central bank desperately tries to rein in our near-9% inflation rate.
Mortgage rates surged above 6%, the highest since 2008, a level that is likely to tank home sales and hit consumers’ pocketbooks hard as adjustable-rate mortgages move upward along with interest rates.
Producer prices soared at a 10.8% rate in May, an ominous sign of higher inflation for consumers down the road. That followed last week’s 8.6% yearly CPI number, the highest since 1981.
Retail sales fell 0.3% in May, but jumped 8.1% from a year earlier. A good sign? Hardly. Adjusted for CPI inflation, growth was minus 0.5%.
Small business optimism is its lowest ever, the National Federation of Independent Business said. This is key because small businesses are the No. 1 employer in America, usually first to hire in good times and first to fire in a slump.
“Meanwhile,” AP reports, “the national average price at the pump reached $5.01 per gallon on Tuesday, up from $4.45 a month ago, and surging more than 60% in one year.”
And before Wednesday, when the stock market rallied in relief that the Fed finally recognized the seriousness of the inflation problem, all of the post-Trump stock market gains had been erased.
The Atlanta Fed’s GDPNow indicator, a kind of running tab of GDP data, fell to zero on Wednesday. A rule of thumb says two or more quarters of zero or negative growth equals a recession. By that standard, the Biden recession is here.

Biden goes into cloud cuckoo land on inflation By Monica Showalter

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2022/06/biden_goes_into_cloud_cuckooland_on_inflation.html

“Biden is still blaming oil companies for the ongoing inflation, as if oil companies themselves were not subject to the higher transport, production, labor, and materials costs of taking oil out of the ground, vowing to punish them with “emergency powers” if they don’t pump more oil to increase supply.  He’s begging the Saudis to produce more oil, despite an amazing array of oil resources available in this country, production of which he has largely shut down, as well as the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada.  He’s also reportedly releasing another round of oil from the Strategic Oil Reserve as if the first huge release had had any effect.  It didn’t.  He’s blaming Russian president Vladimir Putin.  He’s blaming the global economy.  He’s blaming Republicans for not approving his latest spend-a-thons.What he’s not doing is addressing inflation itself and the runaway federal spending that created it.  It’s as if he doesn’t know, or thinks you don’t know.”

Joe Biden either is stupid or thinks you’re stupid.

Because how else does anyone explain a speech like this, to the supposed working stiffs of the AFL-CIO Tuesday?

Biden, visibly angry: “I don’t want to hear anymore of these lies about reckless spending. We’re changing people’s lives!” pic.twitter.com/0I3OgmIJGD

No more lies about reckless spending?  Here’s the whole thing:

There’s plenty to dislike about this, from the 1940s proletarian vernacular to the heaping helping of old hokey Irish Catholic gesturing, as if the abortion president were actually Catholic and not a guy who plays one on TV for political benefit.

Liz Peek: Desperate Biden Goes Begging to Saudi Arabia

https://www.nysun.com/article/desperate-biden-goes-begging-to-saudi-arabia

How humiliating. In mid-July, President Biden will travel to Saudi Arabia to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is that nation’s de facto ruler. That’s the same Mr. Biden who, on the campaign trail in 2020, called the oil superpower a “pariah” state and vowed to make sure “America does not check its values at the door to sell arms or buy oil.”

Unless, apparently, polling suggests he really, really needs the oil. Such are the complications that arise when the president of the United States departs from decades-long relationships rooted in realpolitik and follows a childish urge to abandon every policy of his predecessor, even those that were unquestionably successful.

The lead-up to this planned sit-down has been an embarrassment. In March, MBS, as he is known, and his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, refused to take a phone call from Mr. Biden.

Imagine, the President of the United States sitting by the phone like a pimply teenager pining for that someone special to ring up. (The White House denied this report in the Wall Street Journal, saying that indeed Mr. Biden had spoken by phone with the “king”; that is called a non-denial denial.)

Why would the UAE and Saudi rulers make Mr. Biden beg? Because the President has gone out of his way since his first week in the Oval Office to insult those two countries and let them know that agreements established under President Trump are null and void.
