http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/4139/european-jihadists-syria European security officials say that in recent weeks they have noticed an “alarming acceleration” in the number of European jihadists traveling to Syria to obtain combat experience with Islamist groups linked to al-Qaeda. “France, Germany and the U.K. may have the largest foreign fighter contingents in Syria, but Denmark, Norway, Belgium and Austria have […]

Though chutzpah has successfully migrated into the English language intact, saichel, the Yiddish word for innate common sense has not fared as well. You can be an educated person, but without saichel, you’re bound to mess up. We need it badly – both the word and its extended connotations. Considers today’s story about the Hasidic storekeepers who were issued a fine for putting up notices regarding the dress code in their shops: “No shorts, no barefoot, no sleeveless, no low-cut neckline allowed.” Apparently, the NYC Human Rights Commissioner, a woman with not enough real violations to occupy her attention, considered this discriminatory against women and non-Jewish men. Though Williamsburg has become the newest neighborhood for trendy millenials, the stores involved in this sweep were a kosher butcher, grocer, baker and purveyor of clothes for Hasidic men. Despite the zero likelihood that these signs would offend any of their target demographic, the storekeepers were fined and predictably, they objected. The matter was scheduled for trial until a judge wisely settled it by eliminating the fines but insisting that the Hasidim add a postscript to their signs, reassuring the public that their dress code was not intended to be discriminatory. The Hasidic customers will undoubtedly be oblivious to seeing this spelled out in English and New Yorkers can scratch their heads as they ask how else the city can waste taxpayers’ money.
They won’t have to wonder for long because our mayor remains insistent that the only way to pay for pre-K education is not by a budget allotment as the governor has generously offered, but by taxing New Yorkers who earn a minimum of $500,000 annually. We know that his newly appointed chief of staff for his wife’s fiefdom will be earning a salary of $175,000 for a job whose specifications haven’t yet been spelled out. If she has a spouse or partner with a job equal to or better than hers, she might be in that 1% category, along with Carmen Farina, the new school chancellor who is currently double-dipping, getting paid both her salary and her pension simultaneously, coming to over $412,000 just for her. If Mr. Farina earns only $88,000 more, they’d be among the wealthy families that de Blasio is out to get. One out of five on the mayor’s staff earns more than $100,000 a year and these are civil servants who also get health benefits, pensions and other perks that haven’t been factored in to the real value of their annual income. New Yorkers reputedly get more govt aid per capita than residents of any other state; in 2010, NY spent close to $3,000/pp on Medicaid compared with Nevada which spent a frugal $666/pp. Current estimates claim that more than half of all Americans get govt assistance – has the mayor stopped to consider how much worse off the city will be when working families who pay their taxes head for NJ and Connecticut when they’re slapped with another punishing tax hike?

It was the fall of ’38 and the motion was submitted to approve “the policy of His Majesty’s Government by which war was averted in the recent crisis and supports their efforts to secure a lasting peace.”
The policy being referred to was the Munich Agreement which carved up Czechoslovakia and the war being averted was World War II which would come shortly anyway. Of the hope that war would be averted through appeasement, Winston Churchill said, “Britain and France had to choose between war and dishonour. They chose dishonour. They will have war.”
Echoing that old Munich motion, the pro-Iran left is calling the nuclear deal that lets Iran keep its nukes and its targets their Geiger counters, Obama’s “achievement”. Any Democrat who challenges it is accused of obstructing the only foreign affairs achievement their figurehead can claim.
“Cory Booker wants to torpedo a major Obama achievement,” the New Republic shrieked. On MSNBC, Chris Hayes accused sixteen Democratic senators who wanted tougher measures on Iran of seeking a war to sabotage “Obama’s greatest foreign policy achievement” out of “fear” of the Israeli lobby.

WOULD JEWISH PARLIAMENTARIANS HECKLE AND WALK OUT OF A SPEECH IN JORDAN, SAUDI ARABIA, YEMEN, IRAQ, EGYPT….ETC. WELL NO BECAUSE THERE IS NOT A SINGLE JEWISH PARLIAMENTARIAN IN ANY MOSLEM/ARAB STATE…..RSK
In the first-ever address by a Canadian leader to the Israeli Knesset Monday, Prime Minister Stephen Harper was heckled by two Arabic-speaking Israeli politicians.
The hecklers were Ahmad Tibi and Talab Abu Arar, members of the the Ra’am-Ta’al-Mada, a small coalition party in Israel. Yelling in Arabic, Tibi and Arar also interrupted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Speaker of the Knesset Yuli-Yoel Edlstein and Opposition Leader Isaac Herzog during their introductory speeches for Harper at Israel’s national legislature Monday.
While it is unclear what Tibi and Arar yelled at their fellow Knesset members, the pair started up again during Harper’s address to the legislature. Their anger appeared to be frustrated by Harper’s criticism of anti-Semitic attitudes towards Israel.
“Most disgracefully of all, some openly call Israel an apartheid state. Think about that. Think about the twisted logic and outright malice behind that,” said Harper.
Harper’s comments triggered Tibi and Arar, who sat beside each other during the speech. The pair started yelling and waving their hands at the Canadian prime minister from their seats. Television cameras then cut to a shot of a clearly-annoyed Netanyahu. Harper continued with his speech, as people in the legislature hushed Tibi and Arar, who then stormed out of the Knesset together.
http://www.jpost.com/Opinion/Columnists/PA-incitement-is-entrenched-and-getting-worse-338823 That incitement is rampant throughout PA media is nothing new; it has been there from the very beginning of what is called “Palestinian nationalism,” indoctrinating generation after generation in Jew-hatred. The Palestinian Authority’s campaign of Jew-hatred and anti-Israel venom is getting worse. A powerful presentation by Israel’s Office of Strategic Affairs, led by Minister […]

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper addressed the Knesset on Monday and delivered a speech that should be required reading for all Israelis, particularly those in positions of power.
“Support today for the Jewish state of Israel is more than a moral imperative,” he said. “It is also of strategic importance, also a matter of [Canada’s] own, long-term interests. … Indeed, Israel is the only country in the Middle East which has long anchored itself in the ideals of freedom, democracy and the rule of law.”
Harper then went on to expose the people who threaten the societies that uphold such ideals, as “those who scorn modernity, who loathe the liberty of others, and who hold the differences of peoples and cultures in contempt. Those who often begin by hating the Jews, but, history shows us, end up hating anyone who is not them. Those forces, which have threatened the State of Israel every single day of its existence, and which, today, as 9/11 graphically showed us, threaten us all.”
Arab members of Knesset were not pleased. After heckling their esteemed guest, they stormed out of the hall. As radical Muslims in Western countries always do, these particular parliamentarians manipulate the tools of democracy to undermine it.
Harper, however, was undeterred; he’s used to getting flak for his unflinching support of Israel and tough stance against the enemies of freedom. If anything, the little Arab walk-out served to illustrate his overall argument.

After endorsing the gubernatorial run of conservative California Assemblyman Tim Donnelly, a Tea Party favorite who opposes illegal immigration, actress Maria Conchita Alonso “abruptly” left the cast of a San Francisco play this week.
From the local CBS story:
The actress was to perform next month at the Brava Theater Center in San Francisco’s Mission District in a Spanish-language version of “The Vagina Monologues,” scheduled for a run from February 14th through 17th. The show is being produced by none other than Eliana Lopez, wife of San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi.
“We really cannot have her in the show, unfortunately,” Lopez told KPIX 5. She said Alonso abruptly resigned from the cast on Friday, given the backlash on the immigration issue.
“Of course she has the right to say whatever she wants. But we’re in the middle of the Mission. Doing what she is doing is against what we believe,” Lopez said.
Alonso received an earful from listeners of Spanish-language radio station KIQI 1010 AM in San Francisco on Friday, after she said in an interview that she supported many of Donnelly’s views on illegal immigration. Several listeners took her to task after she used the term “illegal” to describe undocumented immigrants.

In 2012, five Iraqi men in their 20s were arrested on charges in Colorado related to the extremely bloody rape and assault of a woman, who has been variously described as elderly or middle-aged. It was a sex crime so violent law enforcement describe it as “rare” and “horrific” and “one of the worst in Colorado history.”
Finally, the last defendant in the crime now comes to trial. His name is Jasim Ramadon, above in orange. A decade ago, Jasim, known as “Steve-O,” helped US troops i.d. Saddam loyalists, including his father.
As the disturbing realization sinks in — that the smiling boy with the US soldier on the book cover above is the same person in the mug shot — it’s worth taking a moment to consider the crime itself: specifically, how it could possibly be that experienced law enforcement officers in Colorado find themselves encountering rape and assault of “new” horror. Where is such “new” violence coming from? If we permit ourselves to keep thinking, we will remember that in recent years we have all come to know of previously unheard of brutality in crime: murders by actual beheading; murders called “honor” killings; murders of people for their deciding to abandon Islam (“apostasy”). These are not crimes Americans grew up reading about. Only a few years ago, these crimes weren’t happening here. If we are honest — a very big “if” — we will recognize that these crimes, perhaps even this “new” act of violent rape in Colorado, are in fact manifestations mainly of Islam and other more violent cultures (Mexican drug cartels, for example) now in our midst.

DEMOCRAT WENDY IS A STATE REPRESENTATIVE IN TEXAS DISTRICT 10 WHO IS RUNNING FOR GOVERNOR….WHOEVER WINS IN THAT STATE WOULD BE FOLLOWING RICK PERRY (R) ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL GOVERNORS IN AMERICA….SHE IS RUNNING AGAINS THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR GREG ABBOT (R)… http://www.gregabbott.com/ RSK
Now that key details of Wendy Davis’s oft-celebrated “rags-to-riches” story have been exposed as less than accurate, how has the media decided to report on the revelations?
Well, most outlets have treated her admitted fabrications as news, although some have been noticeably generous in their framing of the issue. “Wendy Davis tells a fuller version of her rags-to-riches story,” CBS News tweeted on Monday. CNN observed that Davis’s life story is now “more complicated” than the “compelling narrative” she had originally presented. MSNBC was quick to cast the story from an anti-GOP angle: “Right pounces on news that Wendy Davis embellished life story,” a familiar position from which to launch the inevitable follow-up: “Will Republicans overreach?”
According to MSNBC, the real reason conservatives “pounced” on the story is that they loathe Davis for “making life choices they disagree with — including the decision, as a mother, to prioritize her career.” And adding to the charge of sexism, MSNBC adds, “It’s hard to imagine those choices generating criticism were Wendy Davis a man.” Which raises a number of interesting questions, such as: Would disgraced former MSNBC host Martin Bashir have condoned the defecation into the mouth of a male politician?
