Egyptian Govt: McCain ‘Persona Non Grata, An Unwelcome Person’….See note please

Sending Senators McCain and Graham to Egypt is like sending plumbers to a massive electrical failure, and another sign of Obama’s ineptitude.

The Egyptian Cabinet took offense to comments Senator John McCain (R – AZ) made to the Washington Post about his advice to the new government of Egypt about releasing Muslim Brotherhood prisoners. The cabinet tweeted on Tuesday:

McCain remarks from inside the Egy territory to the W.Post insults the Egy sovereignty.we consider him persona non grata.an unwelcome person
— Egyptian Cabinet (@Cabinet_eg) August 6, 2013

The Egyptian government quickly deleted the tweet.

McCain and Senator Lindsey Graham (R – S.C.) are both in Egypt in an attempt to the push U.S. policy that the current interim leadership should negotiate with supporters of the now ousted president Mohamed Morsi. According to the Washington Post:

RON RADOSH: REVIEW OF DIANA WEST’S BOOK “AMERICAN BETRAYAL”….SEE NOTE PLEASE

http://frontpagemag.com/2013/ronald-radosh/mccarthy-on-steroids/print/

THIS NASTY REVIEW SUPPLANTS A VERY GOOD REVIEW IN THE SAME ONLINE JOURNAL BY MARK TAPSON WHICH IS STILL AVAILABLE ON THIS SITE, ALTHOUGH FRONTPAGE TOOK IT DOWN WITH A RATHER FLIMSY EXPLANATION THAT ANOTHER REVIEWER HAD BEEN ASSIGNED. TAPSON’S REVIEW IS HERE: http://www.ruthfullyyours.com/2013/07/08/mark-tapson-on-diana-wests-american-betrayal/

OF RADOSH I CAN ONLY QUOTE ANN COULTER IN 2007 “Poor Ron Radosh is still hoping liberals will forgive him. He wrote a good book a quarter-century ago with Joyce Milton — “The Rosenberg File” — which was supposed to exonerate Julius Rosenberg, but instead concluded that Rosenberg was guilty of Soviet espionage. Radosh has spent the rest of his life apologizing to liberals for that book. This week, he’s apologizing in the pages of the increasingly irrelevant National Review with a nasty review of the greatest book since the Bible, M. Stanton Evans’ “Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy.” Radosh makes misstatements of fact about the book, misstates facts about the cases and falsely accuses Evans of plagiarism. Other than that, it’s a good review!”

Diana West, American Betrayal: The Secret Assault on Our Nation’s Character, New York: St. Martin’s Press, 403 pages; $26.99.

Many Americans at both ends of the political spectrum view history in conspiratorial terms. The late Senator Joseph McCarthy set the bar very high when he claimed to have uncovered “a conspiracy on a scale so immense as to dwarf any previous such venture in the history of man. A conspiracy of infamy so black that, when it is finally exposed, its principals shall be forever deserving of the maledictions of all honest men.” In that famous speech to the Senate on June 14, 1951, McCarthy condemned former Chief of Staff of the Army and Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense as a traitor who made “common cause with Stalin on the strategy of the war in Europe,” who “took the strategic direction of the war out of Roosevelt’s hands and – who fought the British desire, shared by [General] Mark Clark, to advance from Italy into the eastern plains of Europe ahead of the Russians.”

Diana West, who expands the scope of this conspiracy in American Betrayal, is McCarthy’s heiress. She argues that during the New Deal the United States was an occupied power, its government controlled by Kremlin agents who had infiltrated the Roosevelt administration and subverted it. Like McCarthy, whom West believes got everything correct, she believes a conspiracy was at work that effectively enabled the Soviets to be the sole victors in World War II and shape American policies in the postwar world.

Writing sixty years later, she claims that the evidence that has come to light in the interim not only vindicates McCarthy’s claims but goes well beyond anything he imagined. Throughout American Betrayal, West uses the terms “occupied” and “controlled” to describe the influence the Soviet Union exerted over U.S. policy through its agents and spies. She believes she has exposed “the Communist-agent-occupation of the U.S. government” during the Roosevelt and Truman eras, and that her discoveries add up to a Soviet-controlled American government that conspired to strengthen Russia throughout World War II at the expense of American interests, marginalize anti-Communist Germans, and deliver the crucial material for the Atomic Bomb to Stalin and his henchmen. It also conspired to cover up the betrayal. In West’s summation: “The Roosevelt administration [was] penetrated, fooled, subverted, in effect hijacked by Soviet agents… and engaged in a “‘sell-out’ to Stalin” that “conspirators of silence on the Left…would bury for as long as possible, desperately throwing mud over it and anyone who wanted the sun to shine in.” According to West, it was only because Washington was “Communist-occupied” that the United States aligned itself with the Soviet Union against Nazi Germany.

Al Qaeda Flag Flies High Above Christian Churches by Raymond Ibrahim

http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/3919/al-qaeda-christian-churches This anti-Christian fury has taken on genocidal proportions. “Allah willing, the day is coming when no Copt will ever again tread the ground of Egypt — and no churches. We will no longer allow churches to exist.” Days ago, al-Qaeda’s Egyptian leader, Ayman Zawahiri, portrayed the overthrow of Muhammad Morsi and the Brotherhood as […]

EDWARD CLINE: NUDGING US TO SERFDOM****

http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/nudging-us-to-serfdom

One may say of that human poltergeist, Cass Sunstein, even though he left the Obama administration for the elitist fields of academic Elysium, “He’s back….”
On January 30th, Maxim Lott of Fox News reported:

The federal government is hiring what it calls a “Behavioral Insights Team” that will look for ways to subtly influence people’s behavior, according to a document describing the program obtained by FoxNews.com. Critics warn there could be unintended consequences to such policies, while supporters say the team could make government and society more efficient.

Lost on all these advisors and bureaucrats is the truism that the most “efficient” society is a free one – not what they have in mind at all. An “efficient” society, if the notion has any meaning at all, is one in which the element of initiated force is morally absent from human relationships. Initiated force, whether physical or in terms of fraud or indirect force, in an “efficient” society would be treated as a crime.

“Unintended consequences” can only mean the expansion of government power over everyone’s lives, and in every instance of expansion it has caused deleterious consequences in society itself. Most of these consequences are either intended, viewed as “good,” or remain unacknowledged by our de facto wardens. For example, the 16th Amendment (and its Civil War and Reconstruction Era predecessors), sanctioning a tax on private incomes, has grown from one that was a mere single digit percentage of private income of all kinds, to over 80% of it if one doesn’t have a pricy tax attorney or CPA to juggle the books and take advantage of a mare’s nest of loopholes, exemptions, and special categories. The federal income tax code has swollen from 400 pages to nearly 74,000 pages – and counting.

ALAN CARUBA: A MILITARY IN DECLINE

http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/a-military-in-decline Wars are often unpredictable. The outcome of such conflicts is also unpredictable, but defeat in future conflicts is now being “baked into the cake” and I suspect most Americans are totally unaware of how serious this threat is. You can be sure potential and actual enemies are calculating the odds. A recent USA Today […]

MY SAY: ABOUT THOSE NBC, CNN MOVIES ON HILLARY CLINTON

The networks are shilling for Hillary Clinton for 2016.

Why not a documentary on Condoleeza Rice?- Her biography is surely more inspiring and she did it on her own merits and she was certainly as inept as Secretary of State as Hillary was, without the lies. Will the Hillary flicks show her making that dangerous corkscrew landing in the Balkans which she fabricated during the 2008 campaign? And what will she wear to that famous interview where she said the Monica story was a fabrication of a “right wing conspiracy?”

But never mind that, the real story is that sexy and beautiful Diana Lane will play Hillary Clinton. Who will play Huma Abedin or Monica Lewinsky or Suha Arafat or Paula Jones- all those comely women in Hillary’s bio?

Will George Clooney play Bill Clinton or Vince Foster?

Stay tuned…..

THE RISE OF AL QAEDA AND WHY THE ADMINISTRASTION LIED ABOUT BENGHAZI: ROGER SIMON

http://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/2013/08/04/why-the-administration-lied-about-benghazi/?print=1 For nearly a year, we have had no answer to why the administration lied about Benghazi — why it told the world, not to mention the parents of our murdered SEALs at the funeral of their sons, that the cause of that fatal conflagration was an anti-Islamic video no one saw, when the various […]

VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: OBAMA’S WATERGATES

Almost a year after the attacks on our Benghazi facilities, we are only now learning details of […]

BRET STEPHENS; THE AL QAEDA THAT OBAMA FORGOT

The short distance between the president’s rhetoric on terror and its empirical disproof.

In May, Barack Obama told an audience at the National Defense University that the core of al Qaeda was “on the path to defeat.” The “future of terrorism,” Mr. Obama predicted, would involve “more localized threats,” on the order of “the types of attacks we faced before 9/11,” such as the 1988 Lockerbie bombing or the 1983 attack on the Marine barracks in Beirut. “Dealt with smartly and proportionately,” he added, “these threats need not rise to the level that we saw on the eve of 9/11.” He ended by calling for repeal of the 2001 Authorization to Use Military Force—Congress’s declaration of war on al Qaeda.

On Monday, the front page of The Wall Street Journal ran with this headline: “Regrouped al Qaeda Poses Global Threat.” The second shortest distance in Washington now runs between an Obama speech and its empirical disproof.

The news, of course, is that 19 U.S. embassies and consulates in Africa and the Middle East will be shuttered until Saturday. This is on account of electronic intercepts of terrorist communications, collected by Edward Snowden’s former employers at the National Security Agency and described by Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R., Ga.) as “very reminiscent of what we saw pre-9/11.” Vice President Joe Biden has delivered closed-door briefings to Congress; Rep. Peter King (R., N.Y.) has warned the attacks could come in Europe, the U.S., or as “a series of combined attacks”; Sen. Dick Durbin (D., Ill.) calls the threat “a big deal.”
