J.CHRISTIAN ADAMS: AN INTERVIEW WITH “BLACKLASH” AUTHOR DENEEN BORELLI

PJ Media Interviews Blacklash Author Deneen Borelli About Race, Obama and Hockey

Deneen Borelli is a dangerous woman. Her new book, Blacklash, How Obama and the Left are Driving People to the Government Plantation, provides an unapologetic portrait of how government dependency has destroyed initiative, and the family unit, in much of black America.

Borelli is dangerous in the same way Sarah Palin is dangerous, or any of the other counter-symbols to left-wing orthodoxy. As a black conservative, with a sharp wit and courage to speak out, she is a beacon to others who might otherwise be too timid to break out of the confines of racial expectations.

Blacklash tells the story of how one woman who happened to be black also happened to be conservative. With race playing such a central role in our national discourse, Borelli presents a dangerous symbol to a president who will need extraordinary racial cohesion to win re-election. Beyond the symbolism, her message is even more lethal to the left: being a racial minority does not mean you have to think a certain way.

I had the opportunity to interview Borelli about Blacklash for PJ Media.

Adams: You’re a fan of the New York Rangers and follow the Stanley Cup playoffs. After Joel Ward of the Washington Capitals scored the series winning goal against the defending champs this week, he was subjected to vile online racial taunts. “Gorilla” was one of the more mild slurs Boston Bruins fans used. What does this say about the racial expectations you write about in Blacklash, both in the sense of “keeping people” in familiar places because of their skin color and, perhaps more importantly, that real racism is not confined to red states and the deep south?

Borelli: Yes, I love hockey and for many years my husband and I were season ticket holders for the New York Rangers. There is nothing more exciting than a Stanley Cup playoff game in Madison Square Garden. We have many fantastic memories of exciting games including Wayne Gretzsky’s last game and retirement ceremony. That was an amazing experience!

RONALD CHERRY, M.D.: UNDERSTANDING AND REVERSING AMERICAN MARXISM

http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/understanding-and-reversing-american-marxism

In its essence, Marxism, the core ideology of Socialism, contains an irrational, utopian and coercive perversion of human equality. Marxism seeks equality where equality does not exist, demanding legal enforcement of equal social outcomes, including those related to economics, religion and human sexuality. This ideology even extends to international relationships whereby no nation is allowed to “excessively” prosper or achieve greatness, i.e.: all nations must be “equal.” Never mind that when people are free their human nature leads to natural inequality of outcomes – some are hard-working and some are lazy – some are more intelligent and some are less intelligent – some are stronger and some are weaker – some are tall and some are short. Unequal results occur naturally without force when people possess rightful liberty. Based on their degree of truly free enterprise nations similarly divide themselves into various degrees of prosperity or depravity.

Under the guiding hand of intellectuals and massmedia Marxist ideas are slowly and silently transforming the mental attitudes of Americans. For example, we fail to recognize Marxist Equality at work when elementary schools do not keep score during athletic events – we must not hurt little Johnny’s feelings when another team scores more goals or points – that is inequality. Never mind that athletic competition results in a form of natural and healthy inequality which leads to an appreciation of success and an acknowledgement of failure. Collegiate Title IX rules are a form of Cultural Marxism since equal numbers of men’s and women’s athletic programs are unnaturally enforced instead of a natural program of equal liberty for men and women students to create athletic teams. This form of Marxist thinking is called “gender equity,” but Marxist thinking is dysfunctional in the real world, frustrating the natural liberty and the equal rights of students to pursue athletic recreation. Affirmative Action is also a form of Cultural Marxism since these laws unnaturally force equal ethnic or racial outcomes in graduate school admission instead of a natural enforcement of equal academic standards for all. Under Cultural Marxism the values of American Judeo-Christian Culture must be seen as equal to that of Totalitarian Political Islam, and by unnaturally slicing open the Gordian Knot of human nature, the value of homosexuality must be made equal – by force – to that of heterosexual marriage. Like gods walking the earth, the Marxist “Priests of Power” – in their perverted minds – believe they can “create human nature.”

CLARE LOPEZ: THE U.S. MILITARY BOWS TO ISLAM

http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/us-military-bows-to-islam-again?f=must_reads

The U.S. military is in a full-fledged retreat that is marked by such desperation that it qualifies as a rout. No, not the retreat from Afghanistan, where Afghans in uniform are attacking, killing, and wounding American and other coalition troops with increasing frequency as the grip of Islamic Law tightens like a noose around the country.

Not the one in Iraq, either, where an Iranian puppet regime now seems powerless to stop the wave of al-Qa’eda suicide bombings and sits waiting for the next civil war to explode anew. No, the most ignominious retreat that the U.S. military currently is involved in is the one which has top Pentagon officials ordering Defense Department schools to purge all training content that would actually inform military students about the enemy threat doctrine of Islamic jihad and its shariah origins. The stated objective of the dhimmified behavior is to ensure that American warriors never get the idea that the U.S. is at war with Islam-or apparently any realization that Islam is at war with the U.S. either.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin E. Dempsey, has ordered all Department of Defense (DoD) curricula to be reviewed for anything “disrespectful of the Islamic religion.” Pentagon spokesman Captain John Kirby added helpfully (if not especially grammatically) that the U.S. is “at war with terrorism, specifically with Al Qaeda, who has a warped view of the Islamic faith.”

The surrender statements followed complaints about “anti-Islam” themes which allegedly had been presented in a class called “Perspectives on Islam and Islamic Radicalism,” taught at the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, VA.

HOW TO KEEP THE POOR POORER: STAR PARKER

http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/how-to-keep-the-poor-poor

Media personality Tavis Smiley and Princeton philosophy professor Cornell West have just published their latest contribution to American poverty propaganda, “The Rich and the Rest of Us: A Poverty Manifesto.”The book should have a second subtitle: “How to keep the poor poor and blacks enslaved to government.” To the extent this book is taken seriously by anyone, the result can only be more, entrenched poverty.

Smiley and West’s message is simple. America today consists of a few powerful, rapacious rich people and a lot of unfortunate, exploited poor people. The rich are rich because they are lucky. The poor are poor because they are unlucky. And the only way to solve the problem is activist government to manage the American economy and redistribute wealth.

It’s as if the wealthy belong to a different species of life with no common thread of humanity linking who they are to those who have less. The idea that “haves” once might have been “have nots” — or that that they did something to become “haves” that today’s “have nots” might consider doing — never enters the equation.

Even if Smiley and West conceded that there might be some element of personal responsibility in how one’s life turns out, their portrait is of an America now so unfair, that personal responsibility is irrelevant. There is no hope for anyone to rise, according to this book, without government boosting them using other people’s money.

A good candidate for one of the more outrageous distortions, in a book filled with them, is No. 1 on their list of “Lies about poverty that America can no longer afford.”

AZAWAD THE NEW NATION? GERALD HONIGMAN

Azawad: Why Is It That…
by Gerald A. Honigman

In the Middle East and its environs, for most of the world, if you’re a native but non-Arab people who actually pre-date the Arab imperialist conquest and colonization of your land by millennia, you deserve not only no political rights but no basic human ones as well? And while your cause is routinely ignored by the “progressive,” self-proclaimed enlightened powers that be, that of your Arab oppressors is unabashedly proclaimed loud and clear in academia, the mainstream media, halls of government, and so forth?

The newest, non-perfect nation struggling to be born is in North Africa…even newer than the still fragile Republic of South Sudan in the same general vicinity. In the latter, black Africans were slaughtered, enslaved, and so forth by the millions by the Arab and Arabized north and at long last gained a tenuous freedom in July 2011. The blood keeps spilling, however…not to mention Sudan’s other genocidal problems with Darfur and the Nuba.

On April 6th of this year, a coalition dominated by the Touareg (the people–not the Volkswagon SUV named for their strength and adaptability), a so-called “Berber” people of North Africa–took control of Timbuktu and other major towns and declared independence for Azawad in the northern part of Mali, a huge area double the size of California. Oh yes, like South Sudan’s Abyei border area, it too has oil….

SRDJA TRIFKOVIC: OBAMA IN AFGHANISTAN

http://www.chroniclesmagazine.org/2012/05/02/obama-in-afghanistan

Addressing the nation on Tuesday from Bagram Air Base, President Barack Obama declared the advent of a new, post-war era in the relationship between the United States and Afghanistan. During his six-hour unannounced visit Obama signed an agreement with President Hamid Karzai that is supposed to define the role of the U.S. after the scheduled departure of American troops in 2014. The TV address—filled with contradictions, omissions, and half-truths—indicates that Obama is prepared to misrepresent the failed U.S. mission in Afghanistan as a success in order to help his reelection. An ad-hoc analysis follows, with the President’s words in italics.

“Today, I signed an historic agreement between the United States and Afghanistan that defines a new kind of relationship between our countries—a future in which Afghans are responsible for the security of their nation, and we build an equal partnership between two sovereign states; a future in which the war ends, and a new chapter begins.”

Hundreds of agreements signed by U.S. presidents over the decades have been called “historic,” including several high-profile ones from the Cold War era—agreements involving serious partners in charge of serious countries—yet they are mostly long forgotten.
