The Chinese are pointing advanced weapons at the United States; North Korea’s clownish but deadly tyrant moves apace with nukes that can reach our borders; the Russians provided Iran the wherewithal to have operational nukes; Iran has unveiled a drone with the catchy name “Messenger of Deathâ€; John Bolton, not a man given to wild notions, warns Israel of the rapidly shrinking window of opportunity to disarm Iran’s Busher facilty. But what’s the buzz?
While the president and his telegenic family vacation in Martha’s Vineyard on Cape Cod, the buzz is all about the impending peace processing on September 2.
In spite of Bolton’s and other experts’ ominous assessments U.S. officials have convinced Israel that Iran needs at least a year to develop a nuclear weapon and Hillary Clinton tells Israel that a “peace agreement†must be reached within a year. It’s bound to be the year of living dangerously. Sounds a little fishy doesn’t it?
Oh yes, speaking of fish and Cape Cod, the beaches in Chatham were closed due to sharkophobia…some great whites were spotted nearby nibbling on seals. Sharks occasionally cooperate in a hunt by circling the prey, moving in closer and closer before they attack and devour it.
This evoked an image of Bibi Netanyahu on September 2 in his upcoming “command appeasement performance.â€
Sharks will circle on land: There he will sit with Abbas and Kinglet Abdullard of Jordan and Mubarak of Egypt and Hillary Clinton and George Mitchell and President Obama. They smell weakness.
And what’s the other buzz while our enemies stick their thumbs in our eyes? Well it’s not Russophobia, Kimjong11ophobia, Mullahphobia, Sinophobia or anything like that.
It’s “Islamophobiaâ€â€¦you know, that irrational fear that we have of stonings, mutilation, severing of heads, terrorism, mosques and imams that abet jihad, and imposition of Sharia law. It’s now the national “phobia†so that even declining a scoop of hummus will be suspicious.
While the Ground Zero Mosque Imam Feisal globetrots on a U.S. tax funded Moslem “outreach†for our State Department, his wife Daisy does the heavy lifting with the American media wringing her hands. While her hubby is in Bahrain chumming around with the purveyors of pretty radical Infidelophobia, Daisy was on the tube bemoaning her Islamophobiaphobia to Christiane Amanpour on ABC.
Speaking of Amanpour, now that she’s back from combat zones and has her own show we don’t have to see bullets whizzing by her earrings and hear bombs in the background. Another guest on her show was the uber-arrogant and sartorially splendid Karzai who denounced corruption, by “all sides†and his intention to deport all foreign“security personnel†by the end of the year. Well at least neither one of them blamed Israel and that’s a first when an Arab leader is interviewed by Amanpour.
Last, yesterday’s demonstration against the ground zero mosque was the best.
It started with the thunder of the motorcyclists as they approached the site of the rally, then the speeches, and the crowd which included firefighters, off duty NYPD, and constructions workers as well as 911 families and supporters, it was a smash hit.
