BRIGITTE GABRIEL MAKES THE CASE FOR ISRAEL

An author, Arab-Christian, and national defense advocate is outraged that a group of Catholic bishops recently called on Israel to surrender its covenant land to its Islamic enemies. Israel soundly rejected the conclusions reached in the recent meeting of Middle East bishops who largely blamed the Jewish state for conflict in the region.
In a communiqué at the end of their two-week meeting at the Vatican, the bishops demanded that Israel accept U.N. resolutions calling for an end to its so-called “occupation” of Arab lands. They also decided Israel should not use the Bible to justify “injustices” against the Palestinians. (See earlier story)
The bishops listed the occupation of Palestinian lands, Israel’s security barrier with the West Bank, its military checkpoints, political prisoners, demolition of homes, and disturbance of Palestinians’ socio-economic lives as factors that have made life increasingly difficult for Palestinians.
“I’m Catholic, and it is disgusting for somebody like me to hear about what’s coming out of the Vatican and what these bishops — supposedly who are speaking on behalf of the Catholic Church — are saying, not against the Muslims who are committing the crimes against the Christians in the Middle East, but against the Jews,” contends Brigitte Gabriel, founder and president of ACT! for America and author of They Must Be Stopped: Why We Must Defeat Radical Islam and How We Can Do It.
According to Associated Press, Israel’s deputy foreign minister feels the bishops’ meeting became “a forum for political attacks on Israel.”
