This is the start of an ongoing series, where we will bring you news of what is happening in relation to Islam, Islamism and political correctness in Europe. In Europe, the indigenous cultures have lost their sense of identity, replacing this with bland leftism and PC dogma. In this weakened state, Europe has allowed the uncompromising ideology of Islamism to take root.

The term Eurabia derives from the title of a book by Bat Ye’or, Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis. In this book, Ye’or described a growing relationship between the progressives and leftists of Europe and intolerant Islamists whose ideologies and funding sources mostly came from the Arab world. Similar demographic and political changes are taking place in Canada and the USA. If we learn from the lessons of Europe, we may be able to stop North America going the same way.

As reported on Thursday in Midi Libre, Chrétienté.info and TF1 News, the congregation of a church in Carcassonne, south central France, was attacked by two youths who threw stones at worshippers. The incident took place in the quarter of the historic town known as Viguier, whose population is predominantly made of migrants from North Africa and their offspring. Translation from Midi Libre:

The faithful who attended the memorial service for the dead late Tuesday afternoon in a church in a sensitive area of Carcassonne, were the victims of two teenagers who, after entering the building threw stones and pine cones at them. One person was hit. In addition, a statue of the Virgin, target of the young desecrators, was damaged.

Two audience members who left the service to eject the two young intruders, gave chase but to no avail. The youths blended into the neighborhood, after copiously insulting their pursuers. The priest, Bruno Garrouste, described the youths throwing projectiles as large as a fist, being 13/14. He complained to the police.

Carcassonne attorney Francis Battut Carcassonne has ordered an investigation to identify the adolescents. “We take this very seriously,” he said. The facts date back Tuesday but the details were not disclosed until Thursday. The motives of these young people are unknown. Abdallah Zekri, regional delegate of the French Muslim Council, condemned an “attitude of thuggery.” The desecration of the church Saint-Jacques and the stoning of the faithful in a packed church – the first instance of its kind in a difficult area – sparked a big stir within the Christian community.

Members of the Muslim population of Viguier believe they are not fairly represented in employment or in the society at large, as they explain in this video (in French).

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu is the Turkish-born secretary general of the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference, and he came out with some bizarre comments, as reported by Agence France-Presse and Press TV via Tehran Times. An extract below from Tehran Times. As long as Iran acts illegally with its production of nuclear weapons, its copyright is not of much value in America:

“I’m afraid that we are going through a process like the beginning of the ’30s of the last century, when an anti-Semitic agenda became politically a big issue (together with) the rise of fascism and Naziism…. I think now we are in the first stages of such a thing,” he said in an interview with AFP.

The Turkish head of the OIC further added that instead of combating this trend politicians are exploiting the issue to gain more popular support.

“What worries me is that political authorities or political parties, instead of stopping this, or fighting this, some of them are using this for their political ends, to gain more popular support in elections,” he said.

Ihsanoglu went on to say that Europe must open its eyes to the reality of Islam.

“Europe has to understand the reality of Islam today, and the reality that Islam is not an alien religion of Europe. Islam is a European religion, and Europe has to come to terms with Islam,” he added.

The OIC head pointed to the protests in the U.S. against the “Ground Zero” Islamic center in New York City, to the anti-burqa movement in Europe, and to physical attacks on Muslims on both sides of the Atlantic.

The fact that Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu is is talking trash is self-explanatory. Islam is not an integral part of Europe, and most of Islam’s political leaders are Islamists who are opposed to the fundamental political aspect of Europe – democracy.

Ihsanoglu complains about religious persecution, when his organization, the OIC, has headquarters in Saudi Arabia, where no religion is allowed to be followed publicly, save Islam. No Jews in 1930s Germany were going around threatening to kill people for insulting their prophets in cartoons, and there were no bombing campaigns or public denouncement of European culture by Jews. This is a lie that Islamists like to use to distract attention from their own intolerance and ideological bigotry. A good critique of the disconnect between the complaining of Islamophobia by Muslim leaders and their own refusal to acknowledge their own failings can be found in the Toronto Sun, in an op-ed article by Salim Mansur:

….Earlier this year the UN human rights council passed a resolution on “combating defamation of religions” with particular reference to Islam.

The resolution, pushed by the OIC members, denounced anti-Muslim discrimination in the West following 9/11. It also expressed deep concerns in respect to Islam “frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violation and terrorism.”

The gap between the resolution lobbied for by the OIC and the silence of its members over atrocities committed against non-Muslim minorities inside the House of Islam (Dar al-Islam) illustrate the perversity of Muslim political-religious leaders.

Similar is the perversity of Muslim organizations in Canada and the West remaining silent in the face of outrageous crimes and defamation of religions by jihadis, while condemning Islamophobia where it is more or less non-existent.

The simple truth is Muslims are among the worst perpetrators of crimes against non-Muslims, and penalties based on obsolete jurisprudence of Shariah implemented in Muslim states violate the UN Charter and the Declaration of Human Rights, to which they are signatories.

Berlin : A prominent German Muslim leader expressed serious concern over the growing anti-Islam hysteria in his country, fuelled by right-wing populist politicians and the media.

Meeting with the Berlin-based foreign press Wednesday evening, the chairman of the Central Council of Muslims, Aiman Mazyek [pictured above] said, ‘I am concerned about the situation which we are facing.’

He pointed out the animosity towards Muslims was ‘the fastest growing form of racism’ in Germany.

Mazyek said Islam bashing had become ‘socially acceptable,’ even in German intellectual circles.

He added it was ‘frightening’ to note that most Germans would support restricting the religious freedom of Muslims, according to a recent survey released by the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation, affiliated to the opposition Social Democratic Party (SPD).

Mazyek warned that this hysterical anti-Islam debate would ‘ultimately damage Germany.’

He criticized the nation’s media for not seriously questions some of the baseless assertions made about Islam.

The official emphasized that it was ‘the duty of German society as a whole to confront this form of racism.’

The activist lamented the fact that German Muslims were facing ‘daily discrimination and hostility.’

He referred to examples of an ongoing wave of anti-Muslim violence, including the recent brutal murder of an Iraqi Muslim by two neo-Nazis in the eastern city of Leipzig and the series of ‘almost monthly attacks against mosques’ throughout the country.

Mazyek said he had also received death threats and hate mail from right-wing populists.

He urged the government to address the challenge of Islamophobia before its gets out of control.

German Justice Minister Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger admitted recently that
Islamophobia had in fact become a serious problem in the country as a result of deepening anti-Muslim sentiments within the population.

Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger said there was a growing tendency among the public to view ‘Muslims and their religion as a threat.’

This was the first time that the German government had openly acknowledged the existence of Islamophobia.

German Muslim leaders have repeatedly called on the Merkel government to take the problem of Islamophobia seriously.

On Thursday the Swiss Police arrested three men who intended to burn a Bible and a Koran in front of the Federal Palace in Bern. The Hindus were then interrogated by the police. The men intended to burn the books Friday night.

The police learned about the men’s intentions via the media. At the time of the arrest they had two Korans and two Bibles by them. One of the men, Vinodh Kumar, said that he’s ready to die for the cause.

They men – two Indians (Kumar and Titus Leo Panakal) and one Swiss (Jean-Louis Sterren) – chose the square in front of the Federal Palace in order to attract attention. Panakal told Blick.ch that both books call for pornography and terrorism and are the work of Satan.

The prosecution opened an investigation into the case. Religious discrimination and incitement to violence can face a penalty of up to three years in Switzerland.

A suspicious package has forced police officers to evacuate Muslim worshippers from a mosque in Netherlands, according to officials.

The parcel was found at a mosque located on the Bella Vista street in Almelo town in eastern Netherlands on Wednesday morning.
