Looking For Peace in India
This past week saw a coordinated attack on the Indian financial center of Mumbai. Three blasts rocked the city, killing 17 people and wounding over 130. The Home Minister P. Chidambaram advised a large media gathering that all known militant groups were suspects.
A total of almost 2 kilograms of ammonium nitrate and timer devices were used in all the attacks. Police have also advised that they have a significant amount of CCTV footage. With heavy rain setting in, the gathering of forensic evidence is proving difficult.
No group has claimed responsibility at this time, though there is a similar modus operandi to the bakery bombing in Pune, Germany, where 17 people were killed in February 2010.
Government agencies at the time speculated that the attack could have been part of a project by Pakistan’s Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) to use the Indian Mujahadeen (IM). Lashkar-e-Taiba was responsible for the 2008 Mumbai attacks which resulted in 166 deaths. IM’s stated goal is to rid India of its western shackles and influence and to instill the law of Allah over the land.
The Indian Mujahadeen was responsible for a succession of 21 blasts in Ahmedabad in July 2008 which killed 56 people over a 70 minute time span. Emails were sent to over 20 media groups, including some foreign news organizations. In each of the emails, the group gave special emphasis on being India-based. They had mentioned it over a dozen times in the email, leading investigators to believe that it is done purposefully to protect groups like the LeT.
Here is an excerpt from a 14-page email sent by IM:
“Your oppression will always be revenged Inshallah though after years to come. Never assume that we have forgotten the demolition of Babri Masjid and by Allah we can never forget it! It is that grave mistake of yours which will make you taste humiliation for generations to come.
Babri Masjid was and will remain to be our glorious self esteem and Inshallah; we will prove it to you a hornet’s nest in which you have immersed your bare hand, unaware of the pain to come. If you are prepared to suffer the results of this issue, then by the will of Allah, verily! We will make you face it, and if you feel you are wise enough, then here we announce our ultimatum: Vacate the land of Babri as soon as you can.
The battle has now begun and the dust will never settle down. And All Praise be to Allah, Lord Of the Worlds, and Peace be upon His Messenger Muhammad, and all those who follow the Guidance.”
The Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, built in 1527 on a sacred Hindu site, which was destroyed in 1992.
The jihad by Muslims against the Hindus dates back to 761AD and despite Pakistan achieving its independence from the British Empire and separation from India on 15 August 1947, the violence continues without end.
Belgian author and historian Koenraad Elst states in his book Negationism in India that an estimated 80 million Hindus were killed in the total jihad against India by Muslims since 761. The country of India today is only half the size of ancient India, due to jihad. The mountains near India are called the Hindu Kush, meaning the “funeral pyre of the Hindus.”
Mohammad Ali Jinnah became the first Governor-General of Pakistan and addressed the new nation in the following excerpt:
“It is with feelings of greatest happiness and emotion that I send you my greetings. August 15 is the birthday of the independent and sovereign State of Pakistan. It marks the fulfillment of the destiny of the Muslim nation which made great sacrifices in the past few years to have its homeland.”
Millions of Indian Muslims rushed to the newly created Pakistan to seek a brighter future for the families, away from the evils of British imperialism and influence. To quote NDP, what they did get instead was a “parasitic ruling class, chronic poverty, unemployment, hunger, exploitation, repression, injustice, police brutality, military domination, and the rotten capitalist and feudal system.” Over 60 years on, these are still the daily realities of the Pakistani people.
Another daily reality of Pakistan is violence at the hands of what the west terms ‘religious extremists’. Muslims and non-Muslims alike are senselessly slaughtered, as one ideologue or another ‘martyrs’ themselves in the name of the blood-thirsty Allah.
The Pakistani Government reported that approximately 10,000 people died at the hands of terrorists in 2010. That figure is on par with the world-wide total for deaths from terrorism that year. In the period June 1 – July 12, 2011, 191 people have been killed by terrorists in Pakistan according to news sources quoted by The Religion of Peace.com.
Forced conversions, rape, harassment and subjugation of minorities in Pakistan is also rife. More Christians are being falsely accused of blasphemy. Despite world-wide condemnation and outrage, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said earlier this year that their will be no change to the blasphemy laws and went on to say that Pakistan’s laws will be further tightened to better reflect the Islamic faith of Pakistan.
The 15th of August 1947 is also the day that India achieved its independence from British Rule. On that day, Indian statesman Jawahar Lal Nehru became the countries first and subsequently longest-serving Prime Minister. In his address to the nation he said,
“Today I address you for the first time officially as the First Servant of the Indian people, pledged to their service and their betterment. I am here because you willed it so and I remain here so long as you choose to honor me with your confidence. We are a free and sovereign people today and have rid ourselves of the burden of the past. We look at the world with clear and friendly eyes and at the future with faith and confidence.”
Since that day, more than 2 million Hindus, Christians, Sikhs and others have been killed at the hands of Islamists and the people of India continue to look to the future with faith and confidence.
