Everybody rightly cheered when Congresswoman Gaby Giffords returned to vote. Hers is an amazing story of rescue and recovery and resolve.
Who saved her life through proper and timely assessment of the damage, proper and timely intervention, amazing technology and its amazing use, and skilled surgery and patient and involved care?
Yup! The doctors and nurses….those very folks that Obamacare threatens. The medical profession….doctors, nurses, hospitals, research and development of technology and pharmaceuticals are facing devastating cuts.
Prosperous Americans deserve a share of blame also. The go into orbit when confronted with means testing in Medicare or accepting higher deductibles and more out of pocket medical expenses.
One day at a spa costs more than an annual check up….but priorities are so skewed.
