There is a world-wide Islamic Jihad. Even the Leftists know this. After a visit by some Liberal relatives and talking to many Liberals on the Internet, some things become very clear.
The Leftists/Liberals are fully aware of the threats of the Jihadis. They know about the rockets on Israel, they know about the Honor killings. They know about the suicide bombers. They know that the Jihadis want the world to become Muslim and anyone who doesn’t convert needs to be a Dhimmi.
The Leftists (more correctly the Appeasers) think that if you get enough other people (mainly Israelis) to make concessions the Jihadis will leave them alone. The Rightists (more correctly the Fighters) think that if you kill enough of them, they will leave you alone.
They are both wrong.
A look back at strategic history of WW-II is illuminating. Forget a comparison of ideologies even though there are some similarities.
After WW-I, the Treaty of Versailles placed military restrictions on Germany:

Part V of the treaty begins with the preamble, “In order to render possible the initiation of a general limitation of the armaments of all nations, Germany undertakes strictly to observe the military, naval and air clauses which follow.”[13]
- German armed forces will number no more than 100,000 troops, and conscription will be abolished.
- Enlisted men will be retained for at least 12 years; officers to be retained for at least 25 years.
- German naval forces will be limited to 15,000 men, six battleships (no more than 10,000 tons displacement each), six cruisers (no more than 6,000 tons displacement each), 12 destroyers (no more than 800 tons displacement each) and 12 torpedo boats (no more than 200 tons displacement each). No submarines are to be included.
- The import and export of weapons is prohibited.
- Poison gas, armed aircraft, tanks and armoured cars are prohibited.
- Blockades on ships are prohibited.
- Restrictions on the manufacture of machine guns (e.g. the Maxim machine gun) and rifles (e.g. Gewehr 98 rifles).
When Germany re-armed, the rest of Europe and the United States did nothing. Germany took part in the Spanish Civil War and nothing was done. The Fighters had no sway. People did not listen to Winston Churchill. Instead, Neville Chamberlain came back from meeting Hitler and proclaimed “Peace in Our Time”. This was guaranteed by giving Germany the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia. How willing the Appeasers were to make someone else sacrifice in the name of peace.
During the negotiations with Chamberlain, the Germans were quiet, not making any more demands, not making threatening moves.
The Battle of Stalingrad destroyed the German Army. About two million people, military and civilian, died int eh seven month battle. It did not make Hitler surrender.
Only the utter destruction of Germany’s fighting capacity stopped the war.
The situation in the Pacific wasn’t much different. Japan lost most of its navy, including four aircraft carriers, at Midway and the Marianas “Turkey Shoot”. That didn’t end the war. Neither did defeats on the Islands like Iwo Jima and Guam. Bombing Japan, destroying cities and inflicting heavy casualties, did not make the Japanese surrender.
What ended the war was the atomic bomb. Even then, it took two “demonstrations” to convince the Japanese that there was no way they could win.
Today, the Appeasers are hold sway. The results will be as disastrous, maybe worse, than WW-II.
When Israel announced that they were leaving Gaza, the Jihadis stopped their attacks. They wanted nothing to interfere with their victory. The day after Israel locked the Gates fo Gaza, the attacks began. Twelve thousand rockets later, Israel responded with force. Who did the Appeasers blame? They blamed Israel, of course despite their earlier approval of the Gaza Evacuation and the promise that if the Arabs attacked, they would side with Israel.
Today, the Palestinian Authority is trying to become a UN-Approved state so they are keeping terrorism to a minimum with the occasional stabbing and murder. Everyone knows that the major assault will occur after the UN vote when Israel doesn’t withdraw to the 1947 UN Partition lines as demanded by the Palestinian Authority.
To further complicate matters, Pakistan has about 90 nuclear weapons and is a completely unstable country. Iran is on the verge of getting their own nukes and has implied that they will nuke Israel.
The Appeasers are willing to sacrifice 100% of Israel (de-legitimize and have a one-state solution or have them nuked by Iran) to have “peace” with the Jihadis. They feel that Iran is not a threat to the rest fo the world, especially if there is no Israel anymore. When it comes to Iranian threats, they just look the other way. When it comes to Iran, George Bush and Barak Obama are appeasers.
The fighters think that a few aerial attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities will stop their march to war.
The Jihadi leadership has to be destroyed and pro-Western governments installed.
The biggest threats are from Pakistan and Iran. Pakistan has about 90 nuclear weapons. There are suspicions that some have found their way to terrorists and some may have gotten into the U.S.
Several years ago, there was a nuclear Alert at the port of Portland, Oregon. It was triggered by radiation readings from two shipping containers from Pakistan. Later it was declared to be a false alert triggered by oily rags shipped from Pakistan. In high school chemistry one learns about spontaneous combustion from oily rags. You do not put them on ships. The government’s description of the event does not ring true.
Then there was the terrorist attempt on the fuel tanks at JFK airport in 2007. The terrorists were supposedly going to set fuel lines on fire and the fire would travel to Brooklyn. Fuel pipelines do not burn – there is no oxygen. See Popular Mechanics on the issue. At the time of the incident there was a web page linking terrorist Adnan Shukrijumah to a claim that he had hidden a nuclear bomb on the north end of Trinidad. That page was taken down a long time ago.
Iran is close to getting nukes and the ability to deliver them by rocket. However, one doesn’t need a rocket. A passenger plane will do. So will a ship. The Appeasers think that Iran only threatens Israel, not the United States, not them personally.
The only solution to these problems is the removal of Pakistan’s nukes and the destruction of Iran’s nuclear facilities. Both countries need western-friendly countries.
The Appeasers willingness to sacrifice others for their goals isn’t limited to Israel. They apply the same belief system to economics with the same disastrous results. They are willing to have other people make sacrifices but don’t want to make any themselves.
