Save the children…except if they’re Israeli.
I was back at Parliament last night for the launch of a joint report by Save The Children and Medical Aid for Palestinians called Falling Behind – The Effect Of The Blockade On Child Health in Gaza.
The same day a report was released called Children in Military Custody. This may explain why there were only 20 people at my meeting.
It must have been a good day to release bad news about Israel. With politicians, NGOs and charities totally impotent to stop massacres in Syria and starvation and disease in Africa they got back to doing what they do best; delegitimising Israel.
I haven’t had a chance to read Children in Military Custody except to notice that it starts off by stating:
“We have no reason to differ from the view of Her Majesty’s Government and the international community that these settlements are illegal.”
This despite Article 6 of the British Mandate which called for
“close settlement by Jews on the land”. So when did those “settlements” suddenly become “illegal”?

The bone takes a few months to grow inside a unique bioreactor.
Make no bones about this technology: Bonus Biogroup, a regenerative medicine company in Israel, has found a way to grow human bone from a patient’s own fat, culled during liposuction.
Following successful pre-clinical testing, clinical trials will begin within the next year in Europe or in Israel on applications ranging from growing bones for dental surgery to replacing bone tissue lost through trauma or illness.
“The standard of care today is autologous bone grafting — taking bone from other parts of the body, breaking it and putting it in where needed,” Bonus founder and CEO Shai Meretzki tells ISRAEL21c. “Two operations are needed for the treatment of harvesting bone from another part of the body,” he says. Bipartisan Healthcare Reforms
What the US needs is bipartisan health care reforms, not the partisan ram-down that we’ve experienced with Obamacare. Everyone has a prediction for tomorrow’s Supreme Court decisions on Obamacare, and no one has a clue, including President Obama who has three different speeches prepared for different decisions. Regardless of the decisions, all except those addicted to government-run and single-payer medical care recognize that either Obamacare will need serious revisions or that we will need to start from scratch.
Below is an op-ed that I had in the San Diego Union-Tribune with proposals based on my decades of experience and credentials in health insurance. Republicans and Democrats should be able to agree.

President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats swung their 2008 majority stick, poked the health care hornets nest and are being chased by a popular uprising saying “no to Washington.” Obama now says he is willing to listen to Republican proposals for improving health care. Republicans believe that just passing an ObamaCare-lite will still move us toward government control, toward larger deficits and higher taxes.
Instead, improvements should be separate and incremental to improve health care without financial excesses or intrusion into personal lives. Here are 10 proposals that would work, cumulatively helping the poor and middle class, be affordable, enlarge care without taking away deserved care, and be supported across party lines.

The Shiite jihadist organization that serves as Iran’s forward militia, issued a statement congratulating the Egyptian people and their new Islamic supremacist president, Mohammed Morsi, on their “historical achievement,” adding, “The movement [i.e., Hezbollah] praises this unprecedented step and hopes that Egypt’s first presidential polls will pave the way towards achieving the demands of the January 25 revolution.”
Meantime … the U.S. State Department wants you to understand that when, following President Obama’s congratulations to the Muslim Brotherhood’s victorious candidate, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton demanded that the Egyptian military hand over power to Morsi, that was in no way intended as an endorsement of Morsi and the Brotherhood.

One should always hesitate before jumping to the conclusion that the something that just happened is the worst thing that has ever happened — history usually has many worse “worsts” ready to hand. Still, if there has been a more breathtakingly arrogant performance by an administration official in the modern history of the United States than the one Jen Rubin reports on at the Washington Posttoday, I can’t think of it.
The Obama administration recently issued a visa to an Egyptian named Hani Nour Eldin, an operative of a foreign terrorist organization — formally designated as such under U.S. law — so that the administration could consult with the jihadist about Egypt’s future under the governance of Eldin’s pals at the Muslim Brotherhood. This is not speculation: Eldin brags about being a member of the organization and the administration concedes the visa was issued and the meeting happened.
Outrageous as this sounds, it does not do the outrage justice. The terrorist organization in question, the Islamic Group (Gama’at al Islamia), is the group led by Omar Abdel Rahman, the notorious “Blind Sheikh” currently serving a life sentence in U.S. federal prison for his foundational role in forming the jihadist cell that carried out the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and was later thwarted while attempting simultaneously to bomb several other New York City landmarks. (I handled the case for the United States, back when its government thought jihadists should be prosecuted rather than cultivated.) The Blind Sheikh’s cell, essentially, was a U.S. branch of the Islamic Group (IG).
