The Commander in Chief of the USA has been dithering and having endless fun on the golf course while a Sunni horde of jihadists and savages in the Middle East has been allowed to swell its numbers to 35,000.
At the same time, and in direct consequence to the deeply suspicious procrastination of President Obama, the Muslim head choppers who comprise the so-called Islamic State (IS) have seized a massive 144,000 square kilometers of Middle Eastern land from Raqqa in the north of Syria as far as north west of Baghdad in Iraq.
Who, then, is leading the world into the greatest danger it has faced since the German Nazi juggernaut brought death and destruction upon it some 70 plus years ago because small men in high places did not stop the genocidal and territorial ambitions of Adolf Hitler?
Is it Abu Bakr al-Baghadi, the self-declared leader of Islamic State? Or might it well be the man in charge of the still most powerful nation in the world, Barak Hussein Obama?
Because President Obama delayed and delayed any necessary and forceful action against the horrors IS were perpetrating, the Islamo-Nazis were able to capture all the U.S. supplied military hardware and weapons the fleeing Iraqi army left behind. Now it has become a formidable force, slaughtering everyone and anyone who stands in its path.
A global Islamic Caliphate is its declared intention and the USA and the West are clearly in its sights as has been demonstrated by the public beheadings of American journalists James Foley, Steven Sotloff and British aid worker David Haines along with the slaughter of thousands of Christians, Yazidis, and fellow Muslims.
But let us not forget the earlier beheadings by Muslim fanatics of Americans, Nick Berg and Daniel Pearl, which should have been a wake up call.
Meanwhile, another presidential failure of epic proportions, (and President Bush must share in the blame) has been the southern border of the U.S. which remains as porous as Turkey’s is with Syria. Who knows how many jihadists have already infiltrated into towns and cities throughout America. And still President Obama refuses to seal it.
Any president worth his or her salt should have long ago deployed troops and finally secured our southern border. At the same time, a presidential decision should have been made to provide urgent military assistance to the beleaguered Kurds who are fighting bravely with outdated weapons against the advancing IS jihadists.
Indeed, it is the Kurds and the Israelis who are on our front line of defense against this latest Islamic threat of world conquest.
The Kurds, for example, number only 20,000 fighting men and women and, like the Israelis, are the last frontier of civilization in the tumultuous Middle East. If they fall, Islamic State will be free to advance into Europe and to our own shores here in America.
Remember, Europe already contains some 35 million Muslim immigrants who are unwilling to assimilate and who constitute a veritable fifth column.
But fear not. Obama has cobbled together what he terms is “a coalition of the willing,” but with an assurance of “No boots on the ground.” What they are willing to do remains unclear. Will there be boots on the ground or not? Does Obama have a strategy or not? Its loony tunes time folks and would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic.
In fact Germany and Britain have backed off from full support while Turkey, once a cornerstone of NATO and now ruled by a radical Islamist, Tayip Recip Erdogan, has not only refused to join us but has also indicated it will refuse us the use of what used to be our massive airbase at Incirlik.
At the same time, Turkey has flatly refused to close its porous border with Syria through which thousands of European born Muslims are streaming into what was Syria and Iraq to join up with Islamic State. When they return to Europe, they will constitute a terrifying enemy within.
Meanwhile, Obama still prefers to ally with Turkey, Iran and Qatar – the very financiers and enablers of the jihadists and of worldwide terrorism.
Arab nations distrust Obama is why the most they will do is permit us to use bases in their nations. Predictably, they won’t send one soldier to fight with us.
Is it not justified, therefore, to expect the Arab states who fear IS and Iran (and there are many) to pay for any and all future military campaigns? Why must the American taxpayer always fund military interventions that help keep Saudi Arabia and the fabulously rich Arab oil states safe from destruction?
Meanwhile, our ally Israel is potentially faced with its biggest threat from the north, be it IS, or the Iranian proxy, Hezbollah, which occupies what is left of the once mostly Christian land of Lebanon.
Hezbollah’s colossal stash of missiles (some 100,000 sited in private homes and in schools), that the UN predictably failed to prevent the Shiite terrorists from amassing, is enough to confront Israel with the biggest threat it may face since its defensive War of Independence against seven Arab armies in 1948.
Egypt is so desperate to have Israel free to fight the IS threat that it offered the Palestinians land in the Egyptian Sinai; five times the size of Gaza if they will renounce their aggression against Israel.
However, Mahmoud Abbas, the putative leader of the Arabs who call themselves Palestinians, has rejected this offer as he and his predecessor, the late arch-terrorist, Yasser Arafat, have done so many times before.
Neither Abbas nor the Hamas terrorist leadership in Gaza are interested in a peace with Israel but, instead, plot genocide and a Middle East without Israel.
No wonder that the entire Middle East remains to commentators, scholars, and all who try to make sense of it a conundrum, as unreal as the many mirages that appear in its shifting desert sands.
