Environmentalist Warns Flowers are Bad for the Environment By Daniel Greenfield

Do you know what’s really bad for the environment? Environmentalists.
There they are every day spewing more carbon, printing up posters, holding Earth Day rallies that create more trash than a year’s worth of tabloids and generally making a mess. They own giant homes, fly on jets to warn us that the the sky is falling and never stop bleating, crying and whining.
Their latest whinge is Mother’s Day because you’re not an official environmentalist until you ruin something for other people [2].
How’s this as a gesture of love for the woman who bore you? Chop off the reproductive organ of a plant and send it to her in a box tied up with a pretty bow.
… while giving flowers may seem like a good way to show how much you love your mom, it’s a terrible idea if you care about Mother Earth.
That comes from the Washington Post, not your local indie paper, but it’s hard to tell the difference anymore.
Anyway, according to Jennifer Grayson, who is I quote, “an environmental journalist, is writing “Unlatched,” a book about the breastfeeding controversy,” flowers are bad for the environment.
Roses aren’t really organic.
“The truth is that most flowers are organic only in the truest sense of that word: highly perishable and thus susceptible to decay, as well as vermin and disease.”
That’s what organic is.
If it isn’t perishable, susceptible to decay and vermin (such as environmentalists) and disease, it wouldn’t be organic.
It may wildly surprise you to learn that Jennifer Grayson’s scientific background consists of a BA in music and a gig writing environmental blog posts for the Huffington Post which got her invited as an expert on MSNBC because liberals hate science even more than flowers.
