Former United States security advisers and officials are coming out of the woodwork to warn that the president is failing the American people on national security matters.
On Sunday, Richard Clarke, a former adviser to four presidents on national security, and Tom Ridge, the first secretary of Homeland Security, chided the president for not paying enough attention to security matters.
Late last month, a group of prominent American security advisers — including five with ties to the Obama Administration — warned that the Iran nuke deal was failing to provide adequate safeguards.
Clarke said on ABC’s Face the Nation that the Obama administration was guilty of “almost criminal negligence” for allowing China’s massive cyber attack on the U.S. government.
“I don’t blame the Chinese,” Richard Clarke said on ABC’s Face the Nation. “This is what intelligence agencies do. This is what the United States does. We steal this sort of information. I blame the Obama administration for taking this issue not seriously enough. This is almost criminal negligence.”
Ridge said during a radio interview on Sunday that Obama is bungling the fight against ISIS and needs to put his “commander in chief hat” on.

“Mr. President, you need to put your commander in chief hat on,” Ridge said of Obama on “The Cats Roundtable” on AM 970 in New York.
“Press conferences outside the Pentagon don’t cut it,” he told host John Catsimatidis. “I want my president to lead, not just talk about it.”
“It’s about time the president calls it what it is – Islamic terrorism at its worst,” Ridge added of ISIS.
Ridge argued on Sunday that Obama is missing the threat ISIS presents.
“First of all, they’re not JV – they’re pretty significant,” he said.
“They’re a formidable force,” Ridge added. “They’re barbarians and they’re evil.”
Obama, desperate for a legacy deal, is now in the process of finalizing a nuclear deal with Iran that has abandoned every ultimatum his administration had previously declared essential.
A group of former U.S. officials and foreign policy experts said in an open letter last month that an Iran nuclear deal would “fall short of meeting the administration’s own standard of a ‘good’ agreement unless it included a tougher line on United Nations nuclear inspections and conditions for sanctions relief.”

“Most of us would have preferred a stronger agreement,” the letter released by the Washington Institute said. “The agreement will not prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapons capability. It will not require the dismantling of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. It will, however, reduce that infrastructure for the next 10 to 15 years.”
In addition to Ross, the letter was signed by David Petraeus, former CIA director and U.S. commander in Iraq, Robert Einhorn, a former member of the U.S. negotiating team with Iran, retired U.S. General James Cartwright and Gary Samore, an Obama adviser on nuclear policy turned president of the advocacy group United Against Nuclear Iran.
The letter was also signed by Stephen Hadley, a national security adviser to both former President George W. Bush and his brother, Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush.
Some current members of the Obama administration blasted the president on immigration in 2014 when thousands of illegal immigrant minors brought with them over the border serious diseases such as swine flu, dengue fever, and tuberculosis. Last week, Judicial Watch released emails between CDC officials that were exchanged during the influx. One official described Obama as “the worst pres we have ever had…he truly is ‘the amateur’ but a Marxist too.”
Meanwhile, even as violent black crimes continue to skyrocket, the “almost criminally negligent” president is set to visit an Oklahoma prison as part of an HBO show where Americans can expect to see him pontificate on the unfair, disparate impact of U.S. sentencing laws on minority communities.
Obama will speak about reforming sentencing guidelines when he addressed the NAACP’s annual conference in Philadelphia on Tuesday. The President is also widely expected to commute the sentences of dozens of non-violent offenders during the week. He previously commuted the sentences of 22 drug offenders in March.
And if Obama’s “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule” is adopted, those “non-violent offenders” could be moving in next door to you.
Press Secretary Josh Earnest likes to talk about the president’s dedication to keeping “the American people safe and secure.”
From where I’m sitting, it sure doesn’t look that way.
