President Joe Biden abandoned his reelection campaign on July 21st following weeks of intensive pressure to quit from members of his own party. President Biden promptly endorsed his vice president Kamala Harris to run as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee against former President Donald Trump.
Kamala Harris, who had all along praised Joe Biden’s mental acuity and fitness for office, lauded her boss’s “patriotic” decision to drop out of the race. Was she part of the coverup of President Biden’s cognitive decline, waiting in the wings to take his place at the top of the ticket?
And what happened to the existential importance in this election of saving democracy that President Biden and Vice President Harris have spoken so frequently about? The millions of votes for President Biden in the Democrat primaries and caucuses have been nullified. Kamala Harris is being anointed by the party power elites, even though she showed her weakness as a presidential candidate previously by bowing out during the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination campaign before any votes were counted.
Kamala Harris has also been an utter failure as vice president. She completely flubbed, for example, her only major substantive assignment as the border czar. Now she will have to shoulder full responsibility for the estimated twelve million or more illegal immigrants who entered the country during the Biden-Harris administration’s time in office due to the administration’s open border policies.
Why not simply release Biden’s delegates in an open convention after a series of town halls with the leading Democrat candidates for the top spot, as some Democrat strategists have suggested, rather than hand the nomination over to Ms. Harris?
The answer is that Kamala Harris, a woman of color, embodies the Democratic Party’s ethos of identity politics and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Democracy must give way to DEI. Besides, Ms. Harris can be counted on to continue the disastrous policies of the Biden-Harris administration so admired by the progressive base, but with even more of a left-leaning bent and hostility towards Israel.
Kamala Harris will no doubt play the race and gender cards, along with abortion and the phony ‘Trump is an existential threat to democracy’ mantra, as central themes of her campaign. The campaign will also exploit the January 6th Capitol riot, which Harris will blame on Trump even though he had urged his supporters to protest “peacefully.” She will have to be reminded of her role during the violent and destructive 2020 George Floyd riots in raising money for the purpose of bailing rioters out of jail.
Expect the anointed replacement for Joe Biden to lie as much, if not more, than Biden has done. Just look at her recent campaign rally in North Carolina as a preview of what is to come.
Recalling her days as a former prosecutor, Vice President Kamala Harris proclaimed at her campaign rally on July 18th: “So, I say let’s look at the facts, shall we?”
If Harris had lied to the court as a prosecutor the way she disguised her lies as so-called “facts” at the campaign rally she would have been sanctioned by the presiding judge. In this case, however, it will be up to the voters to decide her fate.
Vice President Harris started lying from the outset of her North Carolina rally. She claimed that Donald Trump supports a nationwide ban on abortion. Not true. Mr. Trump has said repeatedly that government policies concerning abortion should be left to the states. The 2024 Republican Platform reaffirms this position. “Protect and Defend a Vote of the People, from within the States, on the Issue of Life,” it declares.
Vice President Harris claimed that Donald Trump intends to “cut Social Security and Medicare.” Not true. Mr. Trump has vowed over and over again that he intends to preserve as is, not cut, both programs for seniors.
The 2024 Republican Platform pledges: “FIGHT FOR AND PROTECT SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE WITH NO CUTS, INCLUDING NO CHANGES TO THE RETIREMENT AGE.”
Vice President Harris falsely tried to tie the Trump campaign to the contents of the Heritage Foundation think tank’s Project 25 plan to overhaul the federal government. Mr. Trump has not endorsed Project 25 and it is not part of the 2024 Republican Platform, which Mr. Trump had a hand in drafting and signed off on as his agenda that he is running on.
Vice President Harris claimed that the Biden-Harris administration has lowered energy costs, and that the U.S. is now energy independent. Not true.
On January 20, 2021, the average price for a gallon of gasoline nationwide was $2.39. The average per-gallon gasoline price nationwide as of July 19, 2024 was $3.50, despite all the oil that President Biden chose for political reasons to release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
The Biden-Harris administration’s radical Green New Deal energy policies have turned the U.S. from an energy dominant country during the Trump administration into an energy dependent country once again.
Moreover, the Biden-Harris administration’s Green New Deal energy policies include an electrical vehicle mandate that will restrict consumers’ freedom of choice and eliminate thousands of good paying jobs for American autoworkers.
This decimation of jobs in America makes a mockery of Vice President Harris’s claim during her North Carolina rally that with “every decision” President Biden “makes in the Oval Office he thinks about how it will impact working Americans.” Then again, perhaps President Biden did think about how his electric vehicle mandate would impact working Americans and decided that their need for secure good paying jobs was far less important than his Green New Deal agenda.
Vice President Harris claimed that “President Joe Biden and I have created nearly 800,000 new manufacturing jobs,” deceptively leaving out a central fact – the devastating economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The vast bulk of these so-called “nearly 800,000 new manufacturing jobs” were not newly created by the Biden-Harris administration. They were originally lost because of the pandemic and were simply restored as the pandemic came to an end.
As outrageous as Kamala’s lies were, her phony outreach to military service members and their families during her North Carolina rally was even more disgraceful.
“All our service members possess an extraordinary skill, discipline, dedication, and love of country,” Ms. Harris said. “And I know their families serve with equal dedication, and I thank you also.” She added that “We are so proud that the United States military is the greatest fighting force the world has ever seen.” According to what Harris has said in the past, she equates the military’s strength primarily with its diversity.
Thirteen service members were killed by a terrorist suicide bomber during President Biden’s reckless retreat from Afghanistan. He and his vice president have shown shocking indifference to how the grieving families have been faring.
“I’m the only president this century that doesn’t have any — this decade — any troops dying anywhere in the world,” President Biden claimed during the June 27th debate. This disgusting lie dishonored the memories of the thirteen service members slain because of President Biden’s dereliction of duty as commander in chief. Needless to say, their Gold Star families were furious.
President Biden and Vice President Harris have not even bothered to keep in touch with these families or give a shout out to each fallen soldier by name.
Vice President Harris concluded her rally speech by asking, “What kind of country do we want to live in?”
The answer is not a country of the last three and a half years, characterized by divisiveness, chaos at the southern border, corrosive inflation, restrictions on First Amendment freedoms, woke indoctrination in schools, and loss of respect abroad.
A Kamala Harris presidency would be sure to bring us all even more such turbulence and lawlessness.
