LETS’ PLAY “WHO IS THE FASCIST!” ERIC LEVINE

During her recent Town Hall on CNN with Anderson Cooper, Vice President Kamala Harris told her audience that she believes Donald Trump is a fascist.  It would have been interesting to hear her response if she was asked to define what the term “fascist” means.

Clearly, she has no clue.  If she did, she never would have taken the bait and answered the question.  In reality, she and the policies of the Democratic Party have more in common with fascism than MAGA world.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines fascism as:

A populist political philosophy, movement, or regime… that exalts nation and often race above the individual, that is associated with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, and that is characterized by severe economic and social regimentation and by forcible suppression of opposition. At the core of fascism is loyalty to tribe, ethnic identity, religion, tradition, or in a word, nation.

Harris and her fellow Democrats use the terms “fascist” and “patriot” interchangeably to suit their narrative.  Their supporters are “patriots.”  Republicans or Americans who take issue with their policies, are “fascists.”   President Biden highlighted the point when he referred to Republicans and Trump supporters as “semi-fascists.”   Putting aside that the term “semi-fascist” has no knowable definition, the intent of the accusation was clear, accuse Trump and his supporters of being as evil as Hitler.  It was offensive when Biden made the statement.  It is no less offensive now when Harris uses the term so flippantly.

More interesting however, is how Harris and her fellow finger pointers ignore the part of the definition that points out how a fascist “exalts…race above individual …”  Isn’t that what the Social Justice agenda of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is all about?  Everything is viewed through the lens of race, gender, and ethnicity.  The world is divided into oppressors and oppressed.  There are no individual characteristics.  A person is simply defined by their designated category.  For the Social Justice warrior, nothing is more highly exalted than race.

Harris, like Biden, uses the term fascist to conjure up images of Hitler and 1930s Germany.  Nothing is more emblematic of Nazi Germany than the Holocaust: the extermination of the Jewish people.  Yet, the pro-Hamas antisemitic protesters on college campuses and cities across America calling for the destruction of the Jewish State of Israel and the extermination of the Jewish people, are potential Harris voters.  Indeed, rather than condemning them, Harris is working to earn their support.  She has stated repeatedly that she sympathizes with them and refuses to reject the blood libel that Israel is engaged in a “genocide” of the Palestinian people.

These protestors will never vote for Trump because he is too pro-Jewish and pro-Israel.

It was during the Trump Administration that Title VI of the Civil Rights Act was extended to include Jews as a protected class.  Ironically, Title VI is used as a basis for most if not all of the lawsuits brought against colleges and universities for their failure to protect their Jewish students from these pro-Hamas extremists.

Harris is also a proponent of putting distance between America and Israel as it fights for its national existence.  In contrast, Trump moved the Embassy to Jerusalem (Senator Harris opposed it), recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan (Senator Harris opposed it), withdrew from the Iran Nuclear Deal (Senator Harris opposed it), killed Qasim Soleimani (Senator Harris opposed it), and orchestrated the Abraham Accords (Senator Harris did not know what to make of it).

Who should the Jews fear more?

As it relates to the allegation of Trump being a dictator, there is no more important tool in preventing a dictatorship than an independent judiciary.  However, it is Harris who poses a threat to the Supreme Court.

President Biden — with Harris’ support — keeps trying to forgive student loan debt and reinstituted eviction moratoriums for people failing to pay their rents despite Supreme Court decisions declaring those acts unconstitutional.  It is Harris who now wants to “reform” the Supreme Court to ensure it will always rule in a way that she and her Progressive allies believe it should.  For her, the Supreme Court is only independent if it supports her world view.

The truth is, neither Harris nor Trump is a fascist.  There are many unflattering adjectives applicable to either candidate, but “fascist” is not one of them.

The problem for Harris is that adjectives are not going to decide this election.  Policies will determine the outcome.  Trump has a record of policy successes.  That is why voters are willing to look past his personality and unseemly behavior.  The Biden/Harris legacy is one of failure.  Candidate Harris has been unable to articulate a vision for America beyond vague meaningless platitudes.  Therefore, she comes across as vapid and unqualified.

The more Harris depends on branding Trump as a “fascist” as the single most important reason for her candidacy, the more she convinces Americans there is nothing to her campaign.
