Poisonous Durban Declaration Gets New Life
The UN “Human Rights” Council has breathed new life into the poisonous anti-Israel Durban Declaration that emanated from the racist ‘ant-racism’ Durban conference back in 2001. Among other things, the resolution just adopted in Geneva:
1. renews the “intergovernmental working group on the effective implementation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action”
2. pushes the wide dissemination of the 2011 General Assembly resolution reaffirming the Durban Declaration
3. demands the “resuscitation” of the “five independent eminent experts” charged back in 2003 with “follow-up on the implementation of the provisions of the Durban Declaration”
4. directs those experts “to convene a special meeting before 31 December 2013 to…present an update report by the 25th session [March 2013]”

The point of all this? Manufacture ever more meetings to press the implementation of the Durban Declaration. Keep the momentum going until a Durban IV conference can one day be convened. Ensure that the UN pathology connecting Zionism with racism continues to infect the organization and its human rights system.

Obama Hails Security Council Syria Resolution That Rejects His Many Demands
On September 27, 2013 the UN Security Council adopted a resolution on Syria. President Obama hailed the agreement as “a major diplomatic breakthrough.” Here’s what he didn’t tell the American people.

• The resolution does not blame Syria for the August chemical weapons attack – ignoring the repeated impassioned pleas of the President and Secretary Kerry on this very subject. On the contrary, the resolution suggests chemical weapons use is equally a problem of the government and the opposition – referring to “any use of chemical weapons by anyone in the Syrian Arab Republic.”

• The resolution does not sanction the use of force for any Syrian non-compliance. On the contrary, any proposed use of force in the future requires a return to the UN Security Council – meaning Obama and any erstwhile allies have tied their hands to Russian-approved enforcement in the future.

• The deal seriously undercuts the Syrian opposition, by stating that the “only solution to the current crisis” is an “inclusive Syrian-led process” and referring to an international conference which is “fully representative of the Syrian people” – that is, inclusive of the regime of President Assad.

• Contrary to President Obama’s previous insistence that “Assad must go,” the resolution ensures that Assad will stay. It depends on Assad to implement it. In its words “…recognizing the primary responsibility of Syrian government to…”

• The deal uses the catchword of “accountability” for the chemical attack while providing no means of getting there. Suggestions to refer the matter to the International Criminal Court were rejected by Russia.

Bashar Assad

USA Fails to Get UN Human Rights Council to Name Syria as Guilty of Chemical Weapons Attack
Despite the fact that President Obama continues to champion the UN “Human Rights” Council, on the final day of its recent session, administration diplomats failed to get agreement on blaming Syria for August’s chemical weapons attack. On Friday, September 27, 2013, the Council adopted a resolution on Syria that omitted any finding that Assad was responsible for the attack which left 1,400 civilians dead. A single Palestinian civilian wouldn’t have been a problem.

BRET STEPHENS: ISRAEL’S FAILING STRATEGY -The Jewish State Cannot Rely on the United States For Its Security see note please

I have only one cavil…the statement :”Here’s a line I never thought I’d write: I wish Ehud Olmert were Israel’s prime minister. Mr. Olmert has many flaws, some of them well known. But he also had a demonstrated capacity to act.” Huh? Olmert does have a capacity to act disreputably and irresponsibly and possibly against the law…. rsk

So Israel’s prime minister is now left to play the part of querulous Uncle Ben, who arrives the day after the funeral convinced his scheming siblings have already absconded with mother’s finest jewelry.

Uncle Ben’s suspicions may well be right. But he largely has himself to blame for not acting in time.

Benjamin Netanyahu visited the White House on Monday and on Tuesday addresses the United Nations. It’s a predictable routine. First he obtains the stylized assurances from President Obama—still exulting from his 15 minute phone call Friday with Iran’s Hasan Rouhani—that Iran will not be allowed to get a bomb and that “all options are on the table.” Then Mr. Netanyahu denounces Iran at the U.N. and issues unspecified, and increasingly noncredible, warnings that Israel may act on its own.

All hat and no cattle, as they say.

MY SAY: WHY IS ANYONE SURPRISED BY MOSLEM TERROR IN KENYA?

Remember August 1988 when President Bill Clinton was preoccupied with the definition of sex?

From Wikipedia….

The 1998 United States embassy bombings were a series of attacks that occurred on August 7, 1998, in which hundreds of people were killed in simultaneous truck bomb explosions at the US Embassies in Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya. In Nairobi, approximately 212 people were killed, and an estimated 4,000 wounded; in Dar es Salaam, the attack killed at least 11 and wounded 85

The attacks were linked to local members of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, brought Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri, and their terrorist organization Al Qaeda, to the attention of the American public for the first time, and resulted in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) placing bin Laden on its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. The FBI also connected the attack to Azerbaijan, as 60 calls via satellite phone were placed by bin Laden to associates in Baku regarding the strike. Fazul Abdullah Mohammed was credited for being the mastermind behind the bombings.

According to journalist Lawrence Wright, the Nairobi operation was named after the Holy Kaaba in Mecca; the Dar es Salaam bombing was called Operation al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, but “neither had an obvious connection to the American embassies in Africa.

Also: Remember the hotel in Mombasa that was attacked and the shoulder fired missiles that tried to down an Israeli plane in 2002? That was while President Bush was perserverating on the religion of peace that was hijacked by a bunch of meanies.

The 2002 Mombasa attacks refer to terrorist attacks on an Israeli-owned hotel and a plane belonging to an Israeli airline in Mombasa, Kenya on 28 November 2002. An all-terrain vehicle crashed through a barrier outside the Paradise Hotel and blew up, killing 13 and injuring 80. At the same time two surface-to-air missiles fired at an Israeli charter plane. Paradise Hotel was the only Israeli-owned hotel in the Mombasa area.Almost simultaneously, two shoulder-launched Strela 2 (SA-7) surface-to-air missiles were fired at another chartered Boeing 757 airliner owned by Israel-based Arkia Airlines as it took off from Moi International Airport. The Arkia charter company had a regular weekly service flying tourists between Tel Aviv and Mombasa. Kenyan police discovered a missile launcher and two missile casings in the Changamwe area of Mombasa, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from the airport. The pilots planned on an emergency landing in Nairobi after seeing the two missiles streak past them, but decided to continue to Israel. The airliner landed at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv about five hours later, escorted by Israeli F-15 fighter jets.[4] Following the attack, all flights from Israel to Kenya were cancelled indefinitely.

ALAN CARUBA: A VERY ANGRY AMERICA

http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/a-very-angry-america I have been trying to remember when there was so much anger between the Democrats and Republicans. Or maybe I should say between liberals and conservatives? Or maybe I should say between the Tea Party and the Republican Party? Or maybe I should say those who find the President of the United States a […]

JOHN FUND: ACORN’S CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY

http://www.nationalreview.com/node/359866/print Twenty years ago, the mayoral victory of Rudy Giuliani represented a repudiation of the dysfunctional left-wing machine that had previously run New York City. Taxpayers, parents in failing schools, residents of crime-ridden neighborhoods, and job creators have all benefited from the tough reforms Giuliani implemented — and his successor Michael Bloomberg largely implemented —  in the […]

ELIANA JOHNSON: SEN MIKE LEE’S QUIET CONSERVATIVE LEADERSHIP

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/359865/other-defunder-eliana-johnson Mike Lee looked every bit the sidekick to Ted Cruz during the Texas senator’s epic 21-hour filibuster last week — and, indeed, throughout the effort to strip funding from the president’s health-care bill. At 3:37 p.m. on Wednesday, an hour into Cruz’s marathon diatribe against Obamacare, Lee appeared on the Senate floor to lend […]

MARINE CORPS WHISTLEBLOWER FACES VENGEANCE FROM SUPERIORS: ROWAN SCARBOROUGH….SEE NOTE PLEASE

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/sep/29/marine-corps-whistleblower-faces-vengeance-from-su/

THIS IS ABOUT A DIFFERENT FORM OF “LEAK”…..”Central to the charge of unlawful command influence is the case of Capt. James V. Clement, whose cadre of Marine snipers were accused of urinating on four dead Taliban fighters. They made a video that was uploaded to YouTube in January 2012, sparking White House denunciation and a criminal investigation. The administration sent clear signals that it wanted the Marines punished.”

The Marine Corps officer who filed a complaint against the commandant for intervening in the Taliban urination cases against eight Marines is now the target of reprisals from superiors, his attorney says.

Retired Marine Col. Jane Siegel, who is representing Maj. James Weirick, said superiors have subjected the major to retaliations since it became known that he filed a whistleblower complaint against Gen. James Amos, the commandant and Joint Chiefs of Staff member.

“Headquarters Marine Corps is undercutting a hero,” Col. Siegel said. “He did the right thing, and they are trying to bury it and him.”

Maj. Weirick, a staff judge advocate at the Combat Development Command at Quantico, Va., accuses Gen. Amos of violating the military edict against unlawful command influence by urging guilty verdicts to the general overseeing the cases.

The major also told the Pentagon’s inspector general that Gen. Amos’ legal advisers unlawfully classified most of the evidence, including potentially embarrassing emails at headquarters, to keep the material away from defense attorneys.

Earlier this month, Maj. Weirick sent an email to a lawyer who had worked on Gen. Amos’ staff, urging him in pointed language to cooperate with investigators.

JUST ANOTHER DAY IN PEACE PROCESSING BY ISRAEL: Fatah’s Peace Talks special: “The blood of Martyrs draws the borders of the homeland”. That is truly helpful, right?

http://www.thecommentator.com/article/4200/why_oh_why_does_this_palestinian_glorification_of_violence_never_stop

Just when you thought it was safe (did you really?) for Israel to go back into talks with the Palestinians on a peace agreement, this emerges courtesy of the invaluable watchdog group Palestinian Media Watch:

“My homeland taught me that it is the blood of Martyrs (Shahids) that draws the borders of the homeland.” That’s the text next to a picture of a man holding what looks like an AK-47. It was posted on “moderate” Fatah’s Facebook page just as everyone was getting excited about peace talks.

Regular readers may turn up their noses. So, what else is new, they may say. Don’t! This matters. People in the West do not understand what Palestinian rejectionism is all about. That in turn determines their perception of Israel as an unreasonable aggressor. Please see PMW’s full story here, and do share widely, especially to those you think need a little education.

Just another day in the Middle East, eh….

A SIX YEAR OLD TRANSGENDER- IS IT VICTORY OR CHILD ABUSE? JAMES HALLING

http://www.thecommentator.com/article/4198/six_year_old_transgender_child_this_isn_t_a_victory_it_s_child_abuse
Six year old transgender child? This isn’t a “victory”, it’s child abuse
Consenting adults can do what they want. Like the Commentator, I am libertarian on such issues. But am I the only one to think that this story is not just weird, it’s sick and twisted too?

To be honest, the Daily Telegraph was guilty of just a bit of sensationalist hype in its headline: “Six year old in Argentina changes gender”. In fact, the six year old in question did not have anything cut off or added on as you might infer; rather s/he has had his/her gender changed on his/her identity documents.

Still, it’s pretty shocking, isn’t it? The child is six. Let me say that again: the child is six! SIX!!

The name is Lulu now that she has been accepted as a girl. She was born a boy called Manuel. It has become a famous case in Argentina after the child’s mother wrote to President Kirchner asking for help with the authorities on the matter.

The Telegraph reported that Homosexual Community Argentina has hailed the move as “historic”. The mother said: “By accepting that my son was not the son I gave birth to, but a girl, I accepted her identity and put myself at her side.” Manuel/Lulu had, the mother said, identified him/herself as a girl as soon as s/he started talking.

Now, we’re absolutely sure about all that are we? In most parents’ experience, when children start talking there’s more than a little confusion around. Though it seems unlikely that the first words out of a two-year old boy’s mouth would be: “Hey mum. I don’t feel comfortable with my gender; can I change it?”, most parents would presumably respond: “Well, you are two, so let’s wait until you’re an adult before doing anything drastic, shall we?” At least that’s how I remember it when I learned to speak.

But to me, this isn’t funny at all. It’s more like child abuse. What is this from the mother: “I accepted her identity and put myself at her side”. Children that age still believe in pixies. The law does not hold them responsible for their actions. Society accepts that they need guidance and support; not that they should have their whole lives sacrificed to some politically correct fad.
