http://frontpagemag.com/2012/fjordman/islamic-terrorism-caused-by-poverty/ The prominent journalist Sven Egil Omdal, a former leader of the Norwegian Union of Journalists, has warned in the regional daily Stavanger Aftenblad against my dangerous critical views on Islam. At the same time, he thinks we should look into economic factors and social exclusion of Muslim immigrants in order to explain radicalization in […]

As I observed the words and demeanor of Vice President Joe Biden all throughout last night’s debate a line from Hamlet kept running through my mind.
“That one may smile, and smile, and be a villain,” William Shakespeare wrote. How better to sum up the most unctuous, disingenuous vice president in this writer’s lifetime?
The radical left-wing Delawarean showed the same loathsome traits that he displayed during his debate with Sarah Palin four years ago. But this time, because he wasn’t facing a woman he wasn’t walking on eggshells, terrified of offending female voters. This allowed his worst characteristics to rise to the surface, unburdened by natural inhibitions.
While his opponent, Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), was relatively relaxed, Biden was everyone’s obnoxious, overbearing, opinionated relative who makes up for the weakness of his arguments by making them loudly. As conservative comedian Brian Sack tweeted, the debate was “Too Chill Boy vs. Obnoxious Grandaddy.”
Throughout the debate Biden made no attempt to conceal his contempt for Ryan. It is hard to say if Biden showed greater disdain for his adversary than President Obama showed for Mitt Romney in the Colorado conversation last week.
Some observers, buoyed by impossibly high expectations, were destined to be disappointed unless Ryan landed a devastating knockout. Ryan did well but such a punch never came. A knockout always seemed unlikely because Biden is so well known for exaggerating, telling tall tales, and saying downright absurd things.
“The vice president knows sometimes the words don’t come out of your mouth the right way,” Ryan said.
Even though Ryan clearly seemed to be feeling the pressure, he wasn’t cowed by Biden. He taunted the vice president, noting that Biden is “under a lot of duress to make up for lost ground” after Romney pulverized Obama during the debate last week.
Ryan lamented that “hope and change” had been replaced by “attack, blame, and defame.”
“President Obama had his chance,” Ryan said. “He made his choices.”
Ryan rejected the fundamental transformation of America sought by Obama. “We will not try to replace our founding principles,” Ryan said. “We will reapply our founding principles.” Although much younger than Biden, Ryan was the only adult sitting at the table.

While discussion of Obama’s connections to his Muslim family in Kenya is an acceptable topic for discussion in the Arab world, it is viewed as a great taboo in the United States. But why is that so? This taboo should be considered unfair at best, purely prejudiced at worst. Is it fair, after all, that we censor such discussions just because Obama’s relatives are Muslim?
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) should condemn the media for keeping a tight lid on the subject, and it’s high time to go beyond what is disclosed by President Obama in his book, Dreams From My Father, or Wikipedia’s limited information, which includes the only photo released by the Obama family:
For the purposes of this article, we will cover only three of the closest Kenyan relatives to president Obama:
1. Sarah, Barack’s beloved and benevolent grandmother.
2. Sayid Obama, his closest favorite uncle.
3. Musa Ismail Obama, his first cousin and Sayid’s main sidekick.
After President Obama was inaugurated, the Muslim side of the Obama family in Kenya boomed, and it went from rags to riches overnight. They became one of the most influential families in western Kenya and even extended their sphere of influence to Saudi Arabia. When Sarah, president Obama’s grandmother, decided to go to the Hajj, an obligatory pilgrimage to Mecca with Musa, president Obama’s first cousin, they were welcomed with open arms and were provided a special escort with full security detail and first-class treatment at the Saudi royal court:
His Royal Highness Prince Mamdouh bin Abdul Aziz accompanied the family of U.S. President Barack Obama in his palace in Jeddah after the performance of the Hajj this year. The event was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Thamer bin Abdul Aziz, and His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Mamdouh Bin Abdul Aziz, and his HRH Prince Abdullah bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, and a number of other princes and officials.
The reason for such treatment, as explained in an exclusive interview with Musa Ismail Obama on Al-Jazeera, is that a close relationship was built between the Saudi royals, and like president Obama’s call for education in the United States, the Kenyan Obamas embarked on a similar project.
http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/330090/obama-s-birdbrained-attack-rich-lowry President Barack Obama can’t even get his snark straight. In an attempt at the cutting cleverness that escaped him during his debate with Mitt Romney, his campaign aired a TV ad hitting the Republican for his alleged hostility to Big Bird. “Mitt Romney knows it’s not Wall Street you have to worry about,” the […]

MY HUSBAND’S TWO BROTHERS WERE KILLED IN THE NORMANDY INVASION AND I READ THE LETTERS WHICH PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT SENT TO THE FAMILIES…THEY WERE ABOUT GRATITUDE, CONDOLENCE AND PRIDE THAT AMERICANS GAVE THEIR LIVES TO CONFRONT THE GREAT EVIL….BY CONTRAST, OBAMA’S LEETERS MAY AS WELL SAY….”TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN”…..RSK
Honor: President Obama has been sending identically worded, typewritten form letters to the parents of soldiers, Marines and Navy SEALs killed in action. Is “No Drama Obama” cool or ice-hearted?
For years now, the commander in chief has sent to families of fallen troops form letters that he’s done little more than sign his name to. Is it a gaffe? A symptom of heartlessness? A refrigerator has more warmth. Latent anti-military sentiment? If this is the explanation, it would have to border on contempt for those who wear the uniform.
In contrast, according to Ricochet.com’s Diane Ellis, Obama’s predecessor “wrote personal letters to the families of every single one of the more than 4,000 troops who died in the service of their country under his watch. He also met in person with more than 500 of these families, and with nearly a thousand wounded vets.”

Martha Raddatz used the last minutes of the debate with a soupy question to Biden and Ryan on abortion…smugly reminding them how important this issue is to women. Say what? I personally would not legislate against abortion…but on the list of priorities it is about 2….from the bottom. Womens’ issues are very important to me…..the problem of fourth generation teenagers having babies without the father, or the means, or the education to bring them up….paving the way for another generation of illegitimacy is a colossal problem which national “leaders” and the feminists avoid. So are honor killings and suppression of women throughout the Arab/Moslem world….gee does that trouble Ms. Raddatz? Do Sharia laws being forced into our own legal system which shield brutal perpetrators who commit brutality against women even enter her mind? Puleez!

This is what counts as a “win” for the Obama campaign at this stage in the 2012 campaign. The judgment of the late-night […]
http://www.dianawest.net/Home/tabid/36/EntryId/2265/Benghazi-Burns-and-Petraeus-Goes-to-Princeton.aspx Two weeks ago, I wondered whether CIA Director Petraeus was politicizing the intelligence after a source told Fox News on September 27 that three days after the Benghazi assault, Petraeus briefed the House Intelligence Committee that “Benghazi was an out-of-control demonstration prompted by the YouTube video. According to the source, this was `shocking’ to […]

So now we know what Team Obama’s comeback plan was following last week’s defeat in the Presidential debate. You have to hand it to Barack Obama — no matter what your other opinions of him. It is a downright marvel how he has managed to cram his hundredweight of hubris into the little two-ounce drawstring snuff pouch which is his otherwise unremarkable mind. How else to explain the stunning subterfuge he tried to pull on us — and on the whole world — in the last few weeks? Blaming American laws and freedoms for permitting a citizen nobody to make a movie which Obama falsely maintained stampeded an Arab-mob-that-wasn’t, to cover for his failure to protect his own envoy and three other good men from sanguinary and unspeakable torture-mutilation-murder by a pack of assassin rape-butchers? Thence flying off the next day in splendor to Oz, to blithely extort mountains more lucre from his cultic worshippers?
Richard III had nothing on this moral cripple.
A man willing to do and say these things will do and say anything at all. How likely does it now seem that the bin Laden saga happened as he told it?
Granted, there is nothing unique about the rise of rapacious misfits who gravitate to government, slavering for ever more power. They’ve appeared throughout history, often getting very far before they’re stopped. Yet even the dour and humorless defenders of the honor of the prophet were not roused to mass “demonstrations” by the farcically inept “movie” of which Obama and his harridan secretary made so much. But it gives daunting pause to think that the American people should be complacent any longer about this recrudescence in its midst. Perhaps our historical moment of character and courage is sadly past. We’ll know very soon. The choice is between decency and depravity. This election is about nothing less.
