Don’t Overlook the Iran-Al-Qaeda Connection: by N. M. GUARIGLIA

http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/dont-overlook-the-iran-al-qaeda-connection The alliance between the Islamic Republic of Iran and al-Qaeda is considered taboo in many Western national security circles. Regardless, the connection between our Shi’ite adversaries in Tehran and Sunni enemies in al-Qaeda is long and extensive. As we move forward into 2012, with a potential nuclear crisis on the horizon, it is important […]

No forestry. No Mining. No oil. No gas. No more hydro-electric dams.” That was Canada’s Natural Resources Minister, Joe Oliver, speaking on January 9, 2012 and he might have been saying the […]

ROBERT SPENCER; A LAWSUIT ONLY JIHADISTS COULD LOVE

http://frontpagemag.com/2012/06/08/a-lawsuit-only-jihadists-could-love/ Recently the mainstream media made much of revelations that the New York City Police Department (NYPD) had been conducting surveillance of Muslims in New York and New Jersey, including members of the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Muslim Students Association. After an investigation cleared the NYPD of any wrongdoing and established the complete legality of the program, […]

Citizens United Becomes the Left’s All-Purpose Excuse By Richard A. Baehr

http://www.americanthinker.com/printpage/?url=http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/../2012/06/citizens_united_becomes_the_lefts_all_purpose_excuse.html Tuesday night, watching the election returns from Wisconsin was an object lesson in a few areas. On both CNN and MSNBC, the pundits and hosts proved they cannot divide. Flashed on their screens were comparisons of total spending on the governor’s race that showed $45 million in total for Scott Walker, and but $9 […]

The Slick Genius of Slick Willie Posted By Stephen Green

URL to article: http://pjmedia.com/vodkapundit/2012/06/07/the-slick-genius-of-slick-willie/ “When your enemy is angry, irritate him.” -Sun Tzu There are differing versions, even different attributions, of that dictum, probably because of its timeless truth. An angry enemy makes mistakes. An annoyed and angry enemy will flip out. And nobody was better at annoying the angry than Bill Clinton — even […]

Forty Years Later: Kim Phuc and Her North Vietnamese Enemies: Jean Kaufman

http://pjmedia.com/blog/forty-years-later-kim-phuc-and-her-north-vietnamese-enemies/?print=1

Meet the girl in the picture considered iconic for all the wrong reasons.

“It is wonderful that Kim’s existence has become so much happier. But it is up to us to draw the correct conclusions from her story: what was the real atrocity here, and who were the perpetrators?Kim is glad to be alive now, but she describes her attitude growing up in Communist-dominated Vietnam this way: I got burned by napalm, and I became a victim of war … but growing up then, I became another kind of victim. … I wished I died in that attack with my cousin, with my south Vietnamese soldiers. From her telling phrase “my south Vietnamese soldiers,” it is clear that Kim does not see them as the villains of the piece.”

If you are of a certain age, you almost certainly remember Kim Phuc vividly, even though you may not know her name. She was the nine-year-old South Vietnamese girl who was burned by napalm on June 8, 1972, and whose image in a prize-winning photo taken by South Vietnamese AP photographer Nick Ut [1] became an iconic and influential force that helped end the war.

The picture of Kim running down a road near the village of Trang Bang screaming in agony and terror, her clothes torn off and her body badly burned, shocked and outraged an America that had become profoundly weary of the war and its horrors. The photo was Picasso’s Guernica [2] come to life, even more horrific because it was not just an artist’s imaginative and stylized rendition of the bombing’s effects, but the real thing.

As familiar as the photo has become, the story behind it is less so. For example, if the introductory paragraph of this essay had read: “She was the nine-year-old girl who was burned by napalm dropped by American forces in South Vietnam,” how many readers would have caught the error?

DEROY MURDOCK: GOVERMENT UNIONS LOSE

http://www.nationalreview.com/blogs/print/302117 Wisconsin governor Scott Walker’s 53–46 percent victory over Milwaukee’s Democratic mayor, Tom Barrett, in Tuesday’s recall election is the Proposition 13 of the 21st century. In 1978, California’s famous property-tax-cut referendum ignited the supply-side tax-relief movement. Similarly, Walker’s win will encourage elected officials to demand that taxpayer-funded government employees earn realistic wages and pay […]

ANDREW BOSTOM: MICHIGAN CAIR EXEC ATTACKS JEWS IN TWO SPEECHES….SEE NOTE

CAIR-Michigan Executive Director Attacks Jews in Two Speeches

URL to article: http://pjmedia.com/blog/cair-michigan-executive-director-attacks-jews-in-two-speeches

WHY THE SURPRISE? HE KNOWS HIS KORAN…..RSK

Despite clearly demonstrated, intimate [1] connections to the jihadist and virulently Jew-hating Muslim Brotherhood [2] (via the Brotherhood’s affirmed Palestinian Muslim branch, the Jew-hating, jihad terrorist organization Hamas [3]), the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR [4]) persists in its Orwellian self-characterization [4] as an “anti-discrimination” organization.

On June 3, the stalwart Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) provided video and audio extracts documenting [5] that CAIR-Michigan Executive Director Dawud Walid invoked Jew-hating motifs in a recent May 25 sermon [6], and in an earlier January speech [7].

As the IPT report notes, Dawud asked, “Who are those who incurred the wrath of Allah?” during his May 25 sermon at the Islamic Organization of North America mosque in Warren, Michigan. Dawud immediately answered [5] his own query in Arabic: “They are the Jews, they are the Jews.”

In the January 2012 speech, Dawud claimed that when Islam’s prophet Muhammad oversaw the mass murder of the vanquished males of the Medinan Jewish tribe Banu Qurayza (accompanied by the enslavement of their women and children), it was both appropriate and not in the least bigoted, i.e., anti-Semitic. Discussing Dawud’s January 2012 Detroit speech [7], the IPT report observes [5]:

“Did Muhammad order the killing of Jews?” Walid asked in a Twitter post promoting the video [of the sermon]. In response, an Islamist follower wrote, “Yes he did and I agree with it … Well isn’t treason a sentence to death.” Rather than oppose a hateful perspective, Walid merely corrected the follower and reinforced the anti-Jewish sentiment. Muhammad “didn’t order it. Sa’ad ibn Mu’aadh [one of his followers] ordered that punishment. It was a correct one.”

CAROLINE GLICK: DEFEATING THE ALINSKYITES…..OURS

http://www.jpost.com/Opinion/Columnists/Article.aspx?id=273110

Saul Alinsky, the godfather of subversive radical political action, had a very clear strategy for undermining and destroying his enemies: Infiltrate, divide and destroy. Since his disciple Barack Obama was elected US president in 2008, Alinsky’s impact on Obama has received a fair amount of attention.

Less noticed has been the adoption of Alinsky’s methods by radical leftist Jews in the US and Israel for the purpose of undermining the American Jewish community on the one hand, and Israel’s nationalist camp on the other. This week we saw the impact of both campaigns. The striking weakness of the American Jewish community was exposed on Tuesday with the Democratic primary defeat of Rep. Steve Rothman in New Jersey. In Israel we saw the impact of the campaign to undermine and destroy the nationalist camp with the defeat of the proposed legislation aimed at saving the doomed Givat Haulpana neighborhood in Bet El.

Ahead of the 2008 US presidential elections, the anti-Israel pressure group J Street made a sudden appearance. Claiming to be pro-Israel, the anti-Israel lobby set about neutralizing the power of the American Jewish community by undermining community solidarity. And it has succeeded brilliantly. Rothman is Jewish and a strong supporter of Israel. His defeat at the polls in New Jersey by Rep. Bill Pascrell owed in large part to openly anti-Semitic activism by Pascrell’s Muslim supporters.

According to an investigative report of the primary campaign by the Washington Free Beacon’s Adam Kredo, in February Pascrell’s Muslim supporters began castigating Rothman and his supporters as disloyal Americans beholden only to Israel. Aref Assaf, president of the New Jersey-based American Arab Forum, published a column in the Newark Star Ledger titled, “Rothman is Israel’s Man in District 9.” He wrote, “As total and blind support becomes the only reason for choosing Rothman, voters who do not view the elections in this prism will need to take notice. Loyalty to a foreign flag is not loyalty to America’s [flag].”

These deeply bigoted allegations against Rothman and his supporters were not challenged by Pascrell. Pascrell also did not challenge Arabic-language campaign posters produced by his supporters enjoining the “Arab diaspora community” to elect Pascrell, “the friend of the Arabs.” The poster touted the race as “the most important election in the history of the [Arab American] community.”

Rather than challenge these anti-Semitic attacks, Pascrell enthusiastically courted the Muslim vote in his district.

Pascrell was a signatory to what became known as the “Gaza-54 letter.” Spearheaded by J Street, the 2010 letter, signed by 54 Democratic congressmen, called on Obama to put pressure on Israel to end its “collective punishment” of residents of Hamas-controlled Gaza.
