Come See The Racism Inherent In The Paint Chip!

https://issuesinsights.com/2023/01/26/come-see-the-racism-inherent-in-the-paint-industry/

It sounds like a bad joke about woke gone amok, but it’s not. Norway’s University of Bergen is sponsoring research into tackling the burning question of whether and how white paint contributes to white supremacy and why Norway should feel guilty about it because of its role in it.

It turns out, you see, that Norwegians were behind the innovation of titanium white paint, which is considered pure white.

The university wants researchers to explore “the cultural and aesthetic changes instigated by titanium white … and how can both the material in itself and these changes be conceptualized and made visible?”

This story quickly made the rounds in conservative circles. But let’s take a closer look. And, holy cow, does racism in the paint industry run deep!

Examine with us, if you will, the color wheel of Sherwin-Williams, the largest paint manufacturer in the country and brags that it covers the earth. There are literally dozens of variations of white, all of them with names such as:

Greek Villa
Pearly White
Extra White
Pure White
Reserved White
Incredible White
Nice White
Windfresh White.

Film Festivals are Terrified of Offending Wokes ‘If just one person objects to your film, I can lose my job.’” by Daniel Greenfield

https://www.frontpagemag.com/film-festivals-are-terrified-of-offending-wokes/

Art, comedy, music and film festivals were the four pillars of the counterculture, always ready for a little round of epater la bourgeoisie. But then art became utterly incomprehensible, music became a series of autotuned copy-and-pasted pop songs by social media influencers and comedy became a struggle session.

Film festivals that once gloried in provocation just feature the same black nationalist celebrations of their racism in their programs. Edginess, once a major staple, has receded in American film festivals. And those European film festivals are dependent on American talent and recognition. The film festivals, like the rest of what’s left of liberal culture, are running scared.

Terracino, a one-name indie director with an A-list festival pedigree, has also been on the wrong side of the simmering culture wars on the circuit. In late 2021, he took a rough cut of his latest narrative feature, “Waking Up Dead,” to some of the major festivals that have shown his work in the past…

“But that’s when the ‘woke’ pushback began,” he says of festival organizer resistance. “My gay lead character [is initially] transphobic, which is something I wanted to explore — transphobia within the gay community — and they had an issue with that. They were scared to show a film with a transphobic lead.” He says he was also asked: “‘Why does your Latino lead have to bond with a white woman?’ I was really taken aback by that one. Here I am, a gay Latino filmmaker, and I have to answer about bullshit racial politics?”

Doesn’t everyone now? Why should a gay Latino director be special?

“If you look at what happened to me, look at ‘UnRedacted,’ ‘woke’ is silencing artists of color and women,” he says. “And it’s interesting to me that you have so many people of color supporting something that is actually silencing people of color. I think this will lead to some very dangerous places and it already has, and I think a lot of artists of color very soon are going to regret this woke ideology.”

West Point Begins Its Erasure of Robert E. Lee Alex Parker

How much has America changed? Well, consider moves being made at West Point.

Over the summer, Washington’s Naming Commission — comprised of four civilians and as many retired military vets — came to final conclusions regarding seven different Department of Defense “assets.” In its report, the group recommended a renaming of sites honoring Confederate General Robert E. Lee, along with Generals P.G.T. Beauregard and William Hardee.

And over the holidays, the United States Military Academy at West Point began the process of purging Lee from its hallowed halls.

As relayed by the Daily News, Superintendent Lieutenant General Steve Gilland released a December 26th statement:

“During the holiday break, we will begin a multi-phased process, in accordance with Department of Defense directives, to remove, rename or modify assets and real property at the United States Military Academy and West Point installation that commemorate or memorialize the Confederacy or those who voluntarily served with the Confederacy.”

“We will conduct these actions with dignity and respect,” he added.

Included in the extraction: a 20-foot portrait of the man who served as superintendent of the United States Military Academy from 1852 to 1855. The 1931 painting of Lee has long towered over cadets in West Point’s Jefferson Hall library.

The Pentagon’s Pronoun Wars Our woke military brass don’t know how to win wars, but know their pronouns. by Daniel Greenfield

https://www.frontpagemag.com/the-pentagons-pronoun-wars/

In 2020, the Air Force conducted a classified war game which showed Communist China launching a biological attack and then invading Taiwan.

And we lost.

“At that point the trend in our war games was not just that we were losing, but we were losing faster,” Air Force Lt. Gen. S. Clinton Hinote stated.

With abysmal readiness rates that have an average of only 7 out of 10 planes operational, and down to 50% for the F-22 stealth fighter, 50% for the CV-22 Osprey and 40% for the B-1 Lancer, the Air Force isn’t even trying to win a possible war, but it’s fighting one for pronouns.

Gina Ortiz Jones, a two-time losing congressional candidate who wasted millions before being appointed by Biden as Air Force Undersecretary, declared that adding pronouns to the emails of air force personnel will make them “a more inclusive force”.

”An inclusive force is a mission-ready force,” she contended, all evidence to the contrary.

This proposal was cheered by Lt. Col. Bree (Bryan) Fram, LIT Transgender Policy Team co-lead. He describes himself as a “Rocket Scientist, Author, Advocate, Nerd”. Warrior does not make the list. But he was in attendance when Biden signed the Disrespect for Marriage Act, abolishing religious freedom and marriage.

“The use of correct pronouns is an easy way to show care and respect,” Mr. Fram insisted.

It’s a short hop from pronouns being voluntary to becoming mandatory.

Pacific Air Forces went further by warning its personnel not to use “he/she” pronouns. The Air Force Academy, always in the vanguard of wokeness, told cadets to stop referencing “mom and dad”, and to ask people for their gender identity. This was described as a “warfighting imperative”.

The Navy, like the Army, has jettisoned the use of ‘ma’am’ or ‘sir’ for drill instructors.

Earlier this year, the Navy released a video teaching personnel to use proper gender pronouns. An editorial at the Naval Institute complained about the use of such terms as “manpower, manning, man overboard, man the rails, sideboy, man hours”.

The authors even urged replacing “man overboard” with “shipmate overboard.”

The Marine Corps Goes Woke Sarah Arnold

In a world where everything that was once normal is now woke, it’s no surprise that the Marine Corps has also turned the tide.

A newly released academic report from the University of Pittsburgh recommended that the U.S. Marine Corps drop the words “sir” and “ma’am” used to address senior officers to avoid “misgendering” drill instructors despite there only being 14,000 females in the Marine Corps, which makes up of only 7 percent of the branch.

Instead of using the words “sir” and “ma’am,” recruits in the military services refer to their drill instructors using their ranks or roles followed by their last names.

The 738-page report highlights a $2 million study that was conducted to examine gender-integrated recruit training, which claimed that the change would make both genders feel more comfortable when being addressed by peers.

However, not everyone is on board with the woke change.

According to the Marine Corps Times, Col. Howard Hall, chief of staff for Marine Corps Training and Education Command, expressed several concerns.

“That’s going to take some effort,” Hall said, adding “honestly, that’s not a quick fix. What is inculcating in our young recruits that will or will not be reinforced when they graduate and enter the fleet Marine force? So again, we want to avoid any quick-fix solutions that introduce perturbations down the line.”

Coast Guard Senate Bipartisan Bill Mandates Diversity Training Republicans join with Democrats to push wokeness and undermine the Coast Guard. Daniel Greenfield

https://www.frontpagemag.com/coast-guard-senate-bipartisan-bill-mandates-diversity-training/

The woke war on the military has been overseen by the Biden administration and by disloyal military brass who have sought to advance their careers at the expense of national security.

But the latest attack is coming in the form of a bipartisan Senate bill for the NDAA.

The National Defense Authorization Act is a massive annual omnibus defense spending bill that currently hovers around $850 billion. It’s been the subject of detailed negotiations and the only real win that Republicans have come away with is dumping Biden’s military vaccine mandate, but without actually assuring a return for those servicemembers forced to leave over it.

That one important victory covers any number of NDAA defeats that will undermine our military.

One of these is the military branch that people tend to pay the least attention to. And that may be why the damaging language in the ‘Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2022’ within the NDAA has flown under the radar. Much like the woke attacks on the military in the 2011 NDAA, Republicans will usher in, approve and vote for a defense bill that undermines national security.

And most Americans will never even be aware of it. That’s why we’re directing attention to the betrayal of the Coast Guard’s mission and the undermining of the military meritocracy.

As America’s drug crisis worsens, the Coast Guard’s role in intercepting smugglers is more important than ever. The service captures tons of drugs every year. It intercepts everything from drug smuggling submarines to fishing boats dispatched by enemy cartels to kill Americans.

The Cambridge Dictionary Redefines ‘Man’ and ‘Woman’ By Lincoln Brown

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/lincolnbrown/2022/12/13/the-cambridge-dictionary-redefines-man-and-woman-n1653318

EXCERPT:

Once upon a time, a dictionary could be used to provide you with the correct spelling of a given word, as well as its definition. No political commentary, no “directing” people to an acceptable mindset. Just the information you needed to help you express yourself properly.

Now? Not so much.

The Cambridge Dictionary has changed its definition of “man” to the following:

man

noun (MALE)

an adult male human being:

an adult who lives and identifies as male though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth:

Mark is a trans man (= a man who was said to be female when they were born).
Their doctor encouraged them to live as a man for a while before undergoing surgical transition.

The definition of “woman” now reads:

woman

noun

an adult who lives and identifies as female though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth:

She was the first trans woman elected to a national office.
mary [sic] is a woman who was assigned male at birth.

Standing Up to Trans Tyrants The choreographer who refused to dance to the transgender beat. by Bruce Bawer

https://www.frontpagemag.com/standing-up-to-trans-tyrants/

Now 46 years old, the British choreographer Rosie Kay founded the Rosie Kay Dance Company in 2004 and, to quote the BBC, “has been making challenging, socially committed and political work for decades.” She’s the kind of artist, in other words, that the left-wing media love to celebrate. In August 2020, for example, when she premiered 5 Soldiers – for which she’d prepared by embedding herself in an infantry battalion – the Guardian reviewer summed up his verdict as follows: “The life of a soldier is already full of choreography, and Kay works with that to make dance that feels rooted in reality.” In May 2021, the Guardian’s critic described her dance piece Adult Female Dancer, about “a woman’s struggle to define herself, inside and out,” as “superb.” And in September 2021, her Romeo + Juliet was praised by not one but two Guardian writers, both of whom used the word “brilliant.”

Then, quite suddenly, Kay’s star fell. On the evening of August 28 of last year, she held a dinner party at her home for the Romeo + Juliet troupe, which skewed very young. It began well enough. The wine, by all accounts, flowed. But when Kay was asked about her next project, an adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s 1928 novel Orlando, the conservation entered what is, in high-culture circles in the year 2022, exceedingly dangerous territory. Since Orlando is about a man who changes sex mysteriously, it was no surprise that mention of it led to a discussion of gender. Two of Kay’s dancers, as it happened, identify as “non-binary.” She asked them about that.

“Initially,” one of the dancers later told the BBC, “I was OK with her asking about why we identify as non-binary. It’s OK to be a bit curious. But her repeated questioning stepped into micro-aggression territory, then into something more potent. If you’ve seen as many YouTube videos by self-identified transgender people as I have, you know that asking questions about their pronouns and the like is more than welcome until, suddenly, it isn’t.

‘Drag Queen Story Hour’ Is Just the Beginning Libraries are the new culture-war battleground as woke politics invade some of America’s most enlightened and democratic institutions. By James Panero

https://www.wsj.com/articles/drag-queen-story-hour-is-just-the-beginning-american-library-association-woke-social-justice-book-banning-white-supremacy-11668193580?mod=opinion_lead_pos8

In 2006 the American Library Association offered its members buttons emblazoned “radical militant librarian.” We should have taken the message at its word. The American library, once a haven of neutral calm, has become a battleground in the culture wars.

In 2018 the ALA dropped the name of Laura Ingalls Wilder from its annual children’s literature award. The reason? The supposed culturally insensitive portrayals in her landmark “Little House on the Prairie” series. Three years later, the organization issued a “Resolution to Condemn White Supremacy and Fascism as Antithetical to Library Work.” It claimed that “libraries have upheld and encouraged white supremacy both actively through discriminatory practices and passively through a misplaced emphasis on neutrality.”

The quiet, neutral library was out. Full-throated progressive politics were in. As Emily Drabinski, who was recently elected president of the ALA, said on her website: “So many of us find ourselves at the ends of our worlds. The consequences of decades of unchecked climate change, class war, white supremacy, and imperialism have led us here.”

The condemnation of the history of the American library, by its own gatekeepers, has done more than bring “Drag Queen Story Hour” to children’s reading rooms. It has also upended the library’s traditional role as an organization primarily dedicated to the acquisition, preservation and circulation of books. This radical overhaul is the work of some of America’s largest cultural philanthropies.

Last month the Mellon Foundation hosted a panel discussion on the American library with Mellon president Elizabeth Alexander, ALA executive director Tracie D. Hall and Los Angeles City Librarian John F. Szabo. “Library workers are on the front lines of some of our most pressing social justice issues,” began the discussion. They are “no longer relegated to the reference desk.”

What does this all mean? For one, that today’s librarians mock “the shushing part” of the traditional library: “I can’t think of too many contemporary library spaces I’ve been in where the librarian is going to be a shusher,” Ms. Hall said. “I probably was the librarian that others might have wanted to shush.” The panel spoke of “fulfilling the promise of what libraries were meant to be in terms of equity” through sewing classes, co-working spaces and “entrepreneurial incubators.”

Candace Video: Able-Bodied Norwegian Man Now Identifies as Disabled Woman No limits to the madness.

A Norwegian man who identifies as a woman has inspired ire on social media for also identifying as disabled and using a wheelchair despite not physically needing one. Candace sheds light on just how surreal the Woke trans agenda is. Don’t miss it!
