Ex-Uber Driver Who Murdered Eight People in NYC Was in the U.S. on a Diversity Visa By Robert Spencer

After he was admitted to the United States on a diversity visa, Sayfullo Saipov demonstrated his gratitude to the land that had welcomed him by murdering eight people in New York City on Halloween night in 2017 by driving a truck along a bike path. Now, all these years later, he is finally on trial. On Monday, he showed that he was not in the least repentant. As far as he is concerned, he has no reason to be. He sees himself as a soldier in a war that only one side admits is being waged. The lessons here are right on the surface for anyone who wants to learn them, but whether or not anyone in this administration has any interest in doing so remains doubtful.

Saipov’s attorney David Patton said, “And as we sit here today, he still believes that, he still believes the ISIS messaging and he still believes it was God’s will that he do what he did.” This was in line with what Saipov said at a pre-trial hearing back in 2018: “The judgments that are made here are not important for me. They are not Allah’s judgments. The Islamic State, in order to impose sharia (Islamic law) on Earth, is leading a war.” He explained that this war was not being waged to gain territory or economic power, but in order to “impose Sharia on earth.”

Patton admitted that Saipov carried out the attack and said his act was “senseless.” He added, “There is no excuse for what he did and we will not offer one to you.” Nevertheless, CNN reports that Saipov “has pleaded not guilty in federal court to 28 counts, including eight counts of murder, 18 counts of attempted murder and other terrorism charges in connection with the deadliest terror attack in New York since 9/11.”

Biden Released More Illegals in 3 Months Than Population of Montana Even blue cities have been overloaded by Daniel Greenfield

https://www.frontpagemag.com/biden-released-more-illegals-in-3-months-than-population-of-montana/

Biden made his ritual visit to an El Paso scrubbed of illegal aliens and a detention center scrubbed of detainees. The entire Potemkin village setup was meant to kick off Biden’s plan to get rid of Title 42 and ram open the border all the way to flood the nation with illegal aliens even more than it already is.

How bad is it now?

“Using even a very conservative estimate of unknown got aways, Biden has released or allowed more illegals into the United States in the last 100 days than the whole population of Montana. An entire storied American state now exceeded by just 3+ months of foreign lawbreakers,” Stephen Miller tweeted.

That’s the massive rate of demographic change underway. And it’s entirely intentional.

Even blue cities have been overloaded and are begging for help. But the bigger plan is to eliminate red states entirely.

The Biden regime claims that they can’t do anything about it. Sure, they can’t.

Biden’s visit was scheduled at a time when border crossings had already dropped drastically in El Paso.

They control the trafficking and they control the border.

Biden’s New Border Strategy: Blame Republicans First

https://issuesinsights.com/2023/01/09/bidens-new-border-strategy-blame-republicans-first/

At a briefing last week, a daring reporter asked President Joe Biden why he decided to visit the border now, after Republicans have been calling for him to do so for nearly two years – during which time an unprecedented 4.4 million people crossed the border illegally.

Biden’s answer: “Because the Republicans haven’t been serious about this at all. Come on. They haven’t been serious about this at all.”

That answer makes no sense. If Republicans haven’t been serious – which is a bald-faced lie – then wouldn’t that be more of an incentive for Biden to take the reins?

But nothing Biden is saying lately about the border makes sense. It didn’t when he was denying the problem existed. It doesn’t now that he’s trying to shift blame to the GOP.

Remember that from day one, Biden insisted that the border was secure. At least, that’s what he’s had his Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas tell Congress repeatedly. Mayorkas did so as recently as November, a month when border patrol agents “encountered” more than 233,000 – which was 33% more than the previous November, 224% more than November 2021, and 448% higher than November 2020.

For the most part, Biden simply ignored the issue, and with Democrats in charge of Congress, he knew there’d be no accountability. Plus, he could count on the media to ignore the issue.

But now with Republicans in control of the House, suddenly ignoring the border isn’t an option. The GOP won’t let the issue slide.

So, what’s Biden’s recourse? Simple. Blame Republicans.

The New House Majority Must Impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas By: Jonathan S. Tobin

https://thefederalist.com/2023/01/03/the-new-house-majority-must-impeach-dhs-secretary-alejandro-mayorkas/

Impeaching Mayorkas is the only option for those who understand that playing by the conventional rules of Washington simply isn’t good enough.

As the new House Republican majority gets sworn in this week, they have no choice but to use the only mechanism at their disposal to highlight the emergency unfolding at the border: impeaching Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. His acts of nonfeasance include acting on the president’s orders and presiding over a situation in which the border is, for all intents and purposes, being erased.

GOP moderates — many of whom are members in good standing of the Washington uniparty — think they are obligated to pursue “governance.” This sets up a conflict in which anything the new majority does that is aimed more at exposing the administration’s catastrophic policies will be skewered as mere obstructionism and proof that Republicans are incapable of governing.

But they can — and must — ignore those criticisms given the almost complete breakdown of efforts to prevent illegal immigration in the last two years.

GOP moderates may be inclined to ignore the security dilemma and simply move to grant a path to citizenship to people who were brought into the country illegally as children — the so-called “Dreamers.” But the vast majority of conservatives as well as independents and many border state Democrats understand that anything, however well-meaning, that is done to encourage further illegal immigration, as almost certainly would be the case for action on the Dreamers, is unacceptable. The Democrats’ effort to secure a new, broader amnesty is at the heart of the current crisis.

Mayorkas will not be thrown out of office since the Democratic Senate will never convict him even if the GOP’s narrow House majority impeaches him, and it will be labeled as grandstanding and a colossal waste of time. But stunts like that and the hearings in which they can finally bring the various elements of this catastrophe before the public in a way that has not been done before. It is the only option available to those who understand that the consequences of what is happening at the border are so serious that business as usual or playing by the conventional rules of Washington politics simply isn’t good enough.

Deterring More Illegal Immigration What the House Republican Majority must do. by Joseph Klein

https://www.frontpagemag.com/deterring-more-illegal-immigration/

Millions of illegal immigrants have poured into the United States and have been promptly released under President Biden’s catch-and-release policy. The use of Title 42’s health emergency authority to immediately expel illegal immigrants without any hearing on their asylum claims is on its last legs. But President Biden could not be bothered. He refused to even visit the border when he was in Arizona for a photo-op recently, claiming that he had more important things to do.

Congressional Republicans need to show some backbone fast during the new session of Congress to push back hard against the Biden administration’s open border policies. The alternative is a continuation of the catastrophic invasion of illegal immigrants and deadly fentanyl smuggled into the United States by the Mexican cartels.

Unfortunately, the new House Republican majority was dealt a bad hand by 18 cowardly Senate Republicans at the end of the last session of Congress that concluded its business just before Christmas. These renegades, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, voted with the Democrats to approve a reckless $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill that funds the federal government through September 2023. By allowing this spending monstrosity to pass, they took away appropriations leverage that the incoming House Republican majority would have had in the new Congress to move real border security measures over the finish line.

The omnibus spending bill, which President Biden signed into law as the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023, designates only $60 million to hire 125 Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers. But it lavishes $410 million towards border security for Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Oman. And it appropriates enough money to hire or contract for 87,000 new IRS agents!

Yet 18 Republican senators voted in favor of these twisted priorities.

Biden blamed by own ex-border chief for soaring asylum cases, record immigration court backlog The surge in pending asylum applications to enter the U.S. comes after an all-time high number of illegal border crossings this year:By Aaron Kliegman

The Biden administration is to blame for soaring asylum cases that have created a record years-long backlog in U.S. immigration courts, according to President Joe Biden’s own former Border Patrol chief.

“Several factors have contributed to this backlog, but the massive increase that we’re seeing today can be directly attributed to the Biden administration’s border and immigration policies,” said Rodney Scott, who headed the Border Patrol in both the Trump and Biden administrations.

“When the Biden administration went against the recommendations of experienced career border security professionals, terminated the Migrant Protection Protocols, canceled the Asylum Cooperative Agreements, and lowered the bar for credible fear determinations,” Scott continued, “they sent a message worldwide and opened the flood gates for anyone that could make up a sad story or recite the one that was provided to them by the cartel and so-called migrant aid organizations operating in Mexico.”

The Trump administration implemented both the Migrant Protection Protocols and the Asylum Cooperative Agreements. The former, commonly called the Remain in Mexico policy, requires some migrants seeking asylum to stay in Mexico as they await their immigration court date rather than be detained or released in the U.S. The latter are a series of agreements negotiated with Central American countries to curtail asylum fraud and limit asylum access to the U.S.

The Biden administration halted the agreements and has been trying to end the protocols. Earlier this month, however, a federal judge put a hold on the administration’s ongoing legal efforts to terminate Remain in Mexico.

The current years-long asylum backlog comes as illegal attempts to cross the southern border continue to reach all-time highs and critics blast the Biden administration for not doing enough to deter illegal immigration.

“While Congress owns the blame for leaving known loopholes in our immigration and asylum laws unaddressed, the massive increase in illegal border crossings and associated asylum claims falls squarely on the Biden administration and is a direct result of their failed policies,” Scott said.

Surprise! Rasmussen Says Voters Want a Secure Border By Lincoln Brown

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/lincolnbrown/2022/12/27/surprise-rasmussen-says-voters-want-a-secure-border-n1656638

A recent Rasmussen poll of 1,200 registered voters showed that a majority of those surveyed favor legal immigration. But the same number of people disagree, and many also support an increased presence of law enforcement and the military at the nation’s borders.

According to a piece in Just the News, 74% agree that legal immigration is a positive thing, while the same percentage of respondents said that illegal immigration is a negative one. The article said that 61% of those polled believe that Title 42 should be used to keep illegals out of the U.S. to limit the spread of COVID-19. One in five of those polled believed that the border is secure, while most said it is not, by a difference of 21% to 54% Most respondents (52%) said that Democrats are not serious about the issue.

On the other hand, 43% said that Republicans were trying to solve the problem. Seventy-three percent agreed that problems like national security issues, drugs, and human trafficking are attributable to illegals who evade capture by CBP officers. Seventy-five of those who responded said that the cartels deserve the designation of terrorist organizations.

Notably, the poll asserted that around 75,000 people enter the U.S. every month and avoid apprehension. There was no attribution for that statement, but with that in mind, 68% of respondents said that it was time to deploy law enforcement and military personnel to the border.

Supreme Court Keeps Immigration Rule Title 42 in Place Indefinitely

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/rick-moran/2022/12/27/breaking-supreme-court-keeps-immigration-rule-title-42-in-place-indefinitely-n1656723

The Supreme Court stayed a trial judge’s ruling that would have ended Title 42 and has, for the time being, allowed the rule to remain in place. The court issued an unsigned 5-4 opinion that was a victory for the 19 states that had sued the federal government to keep Title 42 in place.

Title 42 is a 1940s-era rule that limits immigration and asylum seekers during a national health crisis. It was originally put in place by Donald Trump in March 2020 and severely restricted the number of people seeking asylum by expelling all but a fraction of those who showed up at the border.

Joe Biden eased the restrictions, but about 65% of all asylum seekers who showed up at the border were still expelled.

The stay says nothing about the lawsuit by GOP states seeking to keep Title 42 in place.

New York Times:

The court said that it would hear arguments in the case in February and that the stay would remain in place until it issued its ruling. The justices said they would only address the question of whether the 19 mainly Republican-led states that had sought the stay could pursue their challenge to the measure.

Most Americans Don’t Know How Bad the Border Crisis Is Now we see what happens when the media ignore a story. by Byron York

https://www.frontpagemag.com/most-americans-dont-know-how-bad-the-border-crisis-is/

This week could mark the most consequential development on the U.S.-Mexico border since January 2021, when President Joe Biden essentially opened the nation’s doors to millions of illegal border crossers. Depending on how court fights turn out, Title 42, the Trump-era measure that allows the U.S. government to quickly return illegal crossers to Mexico on the grounds of preventing the spread of COVID, will likely soon expire. After that, officials expect a flood of illegal crossers, all coming into the United States confident that they, like hundreds of thousands before them just this year, will be allowed to stay.

The disaster will come on top of the Biden administration’s currently disastrous border policy. In fiscal year 2022, the period from Oct. 1, 2021 to Sept. 30, 2022, Border Patrol agents encountered a record number of migrants crossing illegally into the United States — 2,378,944. Add onto that the estimated 600,000 illegal crossers who got away without any contact with the Border Patrol, and that means close to 3 million border crossers in a single year. The two months since the beginning of the new fiscal year have seen crossings at an even higher rate. And that is before the Title 42 change.

Already, the numbers have risen to unheard-of levels. Recently the Border Patrol reported encountering 16,000 migrants in just 48 hours — 8,000 per day. Compare that to the assessment of Jeh Johnson, President Barack Obama’s head of homeland security, who once said that 1,000 encounters a day constituted a crisis. Now, there are predictions that post-Title 42 encounters might hit as many as 14,000 a day.

Cities and towns along the border have been overwhelmed since the Biden changes took place. Look at these figures from El Paso, Texas, in a story by the Washington Examiner’s Anna Giaritelli: “According to all the data that are publicly available from the city, the 678,000 residents of El Paso have seen 84,082 immigrants released into their town between August 22 and December 11.” That’s an extraordinary influx in the last few months, repeated in other U.S. communities along the border.

Biden Screamed and Dropped F-Bombs As Border Crisis Ravaged Sarah Arnold

The southern border is in shambles. It has been overrun by illegal migrants and drug cartels who are bringing dangerous substances and people into the U.S., yet America’s president believes that there are “more important” things to worry about.

However, it turns out that President Joe Biden was and is fully aware of the havoc he has caused on the border.

According to a new book titled, “The Fight of His Life: Inside Joe Biden’s White House,” author Chris Whipple said that Biden screamed and cursed as the crisis at the border escalated.

Whipple, who spent the first two years shadowing the Biden Administration, recalled the moment the president learned that thousands of illegal migrants were storming the southern border.

“Meanwhile, illegal immigrants kept arriving. And Biden was furious,” Whipple wrote, adding “aides had rarely seen him so angry. From all over the West Wing, you could hear the president cursing, dropping f-bombs.”

Despite Biden never visiting the border or addressing the problem at all, he reportedly had a “short fuse” when it came to the matter.

“Next to vaccine disinformation, this was the thing that made Biden’s blood boil,” the book reads.

A senior official reportedly told Whipple that Biden was frustrated with the “lack of solutions” his team brought to him as the country began to become more aware of the problem.
