Amid 2014 Border Crisis, Biden Blasted ‘Reckless’ Parents . By Philip Wegmann

Joe Biden called it a crisis and worse.

“When children travel hundreds of miles to reach the United States without their families, in the hands of criminals in the 21st century,” he said of unaccompanied minors surging across the nation’s southern border, “that’s a tragedy we all must take responsibility for.”

And, to clarify but not offend, he took care to explain who should take responsibility for that tragedy: “the country from which they come, and the country to which they are headed.”

He was the vice president then — June of 2014 — as he undertook a tour of Central and South America. There was no pandemic at the time. Unlike today, Biden also spoke at length about the illegal immigration challenge. Now, as president, he remains relatively mum, even as the Border Patrol detains a record number of kids and overall detentions in February soared to nearly 100,000 — the most in that month since 2006.

Is there a crisis at the southern border? That’s the question RealClearPolitics put to Biden last week as he walked out of the State Dining Room at the White House. “No,” he replied. “We will be able to handle it, God willing.”

The new president is not the only one who won’t call it a crisis. That same day and subsequently, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has repeatedly described the situation as a challenge. “We’re going to approach this without labeling,” she said. “We’re going to approach this with policy, with humanity and with a focus on what we can do to keep these kids safe.”

No borders, no country by Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA-4)

Before the lockdown, the Left took a wrecking ball to our economy last year, we were enjoying one of the greatest expansions of economic opportunity in our lifetimes. Unemployment was at its lowest rate in 50 years; the poverty rate was at its lowest in 60 years. Wage growth was the strongest in 40 years. The wage gap was narrowing for the first time in many years as blue-collar wages increased dramatically. The unemployment rate for women was the lowest in 70 years. For African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Asian Americans, veterans and disabled Americans, and those without a high school diploma, unemployment was the lowest ever recorded.

The tax and regulatory relief Republicans won in 2017 and 2018 explain much of this success, but something else was going on that caused the extraordinary improvement of wages for unskilled and low-skilled workers. The Trump administration restored control of our borders and stemmed the flood of low-wage labor that had been suppressing American workers’ wages for decades.

Big business and big agriculture hated former President Donald Trump’s immigration policy because it forced them to pay their workers higher wages. But in the growing economy it produced, working Americans who had been left behind for decades finally began to prosper. Did we learn anything from this unprecedented blue-collar boom? Apparently not, judging from the Democrats’ zeal to open our borders to new waves of illegal immigration.

The president’s executive orders have already produced a new migrant crisis on the southern border.

One abandoned the border wall mid-construction. Another undermines the long-standing requirement that immigrants support themselves and not burden American taxpayers. Another ends the remain-in-Mexico policy for those making asylum claims, most of which are false. Yet another effectively releases illegal immigrants accompanied by youths under age 18 directly into the United States. Another grants what amounts to sanctuary status for a wide variety of criminal offenses, including drunk driving and sex offenses. Another restores unrestricted travel from hotbeds of international terrorism.

Biden Broke The Border, Now He Owns The Crisis

https://issuesinsights.com/2021/03/10/biden-broke-the-border-now-he-owns-the-crisis/

Just one week ago, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas flat out denied that there is a crisis at the southern border. “The answer is no,” he said in answer to a reporter’s question. “I think there is a challenge at the border that we are managing.”

The very next day, administration officials informed President Joe Biden that the number of migrant children in the U.S. is on pace to beat the previous record by 45% and that there aren’t enough beds to accommodate them.

Then Monday, Mayorkas started pleading for volunteers to help Border Protection cope with the “overwhelming” surge of illegal border crossers. “Your colleagues need assistance,” he said.

In January alone, Border Patrol agents had 78,323 “encounters” with illegal border crossers – which is higher than any January in a decade. In the three months since Biden won the election, these “encounters” totaled 224,337, which is 87% higher than the same three months a year ago.

According to the New York Times, there were likely 100,000 more “encounters” in February.

Number of Migrant Children in Border Patrol Custody Triples in Two Weeks By Zachary Evans

https://www.nationalreview.com/news/number-of-migrant-children-in-border-patrol-custody-triples-in-two-weeks/

The number of migrant children detained in Border Patrol facilities has tripled over the past two weeks, amid an ongoing surge of migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

Over 3,250 migrant children are currently in Border Patrol custody, according to internal documents obtained by multiple outlets. That figure is triple the amount from two weeks ago and almost double the 1,700 children held in Border Patrol facilities as of last week.

Of those detained, over 1,360 children have been held longer than the maximum 72 hours before being transferred from Border Patrol to shelters run by the Department of Health and Human Services. However, while around 2,600 children are currently waiting for transfer, just 500 beds suitable for children are available in HHS shelters, according to the documents.

The Border Patrol transferred over 7,000 migrant children into HHS shelters last month, the highest ever recorded during the month of February.

The Biden administration moved last week to allow HHS shelters to operate at 100 percent capacity to accommodate an expected influx of migrants, despite the threat of increased coronavirus spread in the shelters. The President reportedly received a briefing warning of record numbers of child migrants at the border in the coming weeks.

Democrats And Corporate Media Are Starting To Admit ‘There’s A Real Big Problem At The Border’ By Jordan Davidson

https://thefederalist.com/2021/03/08/democrats-and-corporate-media-are-starting-to-admit-theres-a-real-big-problem-at-the-border/

While the Biden administration continues to deny that there is a crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, concerns over safety, national security, and even health grow among Democrats and the corrupt corporate media.

One Democratic representative in Texas said it doesn’t matter if the current administration labels it a challenge or a crisis, those in charge of the situation now are responsible for handling the large and unmanageable influx of migrants.

“Look, we can play with words, is it a challenge or is it a crisis,” Rep. Henry Cuellar said. “Let’s look at the numbers. Since August of last year, the numbers have been increasing. And especially October, November, and December we were hitting 70,000. In January we had 78,000. And this is, again, under the Trump administration, now moving into the Biden administration.”

He also suggested that the administration is purposefully hiding how many people, potentially infected with COVID-19, are being released from holding centers into the U.S.

“I don’t care what we call it, but I can tell you this — those numbers of people being released, they’re purposefully withholding that information. They’ve been told not to withhold that information. I now know that they’re bringing people from McAllen over to Laredo, processing them in Laredo, and they’re going to release them in my community,” Cuellar said.

Outrage: Biden’s Border Patrol Is Not COVID Testing Immigrants Swarming and Overwhelming the Border By Victoria Taft

When Joe Biden signaled his open borders plan, it triggered human traffickers south of the border to start teeing up swarms of people to storm the U.S. border and flood the already COVID pandemic-slammed U.S. labor market. But now we learn that the Biden administration has not been COVID testing the illegal immigrants swarming the border before they’re released into the interior of the US.

Joe Biden knew this before he opened the borders, gobsmackingly asserted that the US “didn’t have a COVID vaccine,” and claimed the pandemic was so severe he had to spend nearly $2 trillion to fight it.

The Washington Examiner reports that the Border Patrol and the Department of Homeland Security are not COVID testing the illegal aliens and their children. Why? Even if they did test positive, “they cannot return children and some families.” Adults can be deported, but not people with children.

The Border Patrol is not allowed to quarantine illegal aliens with the virus. The Examiner reports that they’re urged to turn them over to “local health systems.”

Border crisis creates new risks for Biden By Brett Samuels and Jonathan Easley

President Biden is facing a growing dilemma at the southern border that shows few signs of abating: the number of unaccompanied minors crossing into the United States steadily increasing in recent weeks.

Thousands of migrants have crossed the border in Biden’s first six weeks in office, many of them unaccompanied minors. The influx has tested the administration’s resources and ability to quickly implement its own strategy as Republicans sound alarms over what they have deemed a crisis of Biden’s making.

The Biden administration is rapidly adapting its approach to meet the need for space and staffing in a reflection of the seriousness of the situation.

“President Biden has asked senior members of his team to travel to the border region in order to provide a full briefing to him on the government response to the influx of unaccompanied minors and an assessment of additional steps that can be taken to ensure the safety and care of these children,” White House spokesperson Vedant Patel said in a statement.

Officials are reportedly working to get the Federal Emergency Management Agency involved, and The Washington Post reported that the administration is looking to convert family detention centers into processing facilities to more rapidly screen migrant children and their parents.

Biden Admin Will Not Allow Reporters To Tour Child Migrant Detention Facilities, Cite COVID-19 By Emily Zanotti

The Biden administration will not allow reporters to tour juvenile detention facilities now housing unaccompanied minors who came across the United States-Mexico border seeking asylum.

“Reporters will not be allowed inside the Carrizo Springs facility for unaccompanied minors that was recently opened under the Biden administration in Texas, a Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families (ACF) spokesperson” said in response to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request to tour the facility.

“The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is not hosting media tours of unaccompanied children (UC) facilities currently due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” the spokesperson told the media outlet, echoing an answer reportedly given to ABC News when they also requested a tour.

“If media tours resume, we will send a media advisory,” the spokesperson added.

During a press briefing Monday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said he would “look into” the ABC News reporter’s claims, telling the media that the Biden administration was “open” to media scrutiny.

DHS warns Biden of crisis: Record 117,000 unaccompanied children expected at border this year.by Anna Giaritelli

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/dhs-biden-117-000-unaccompanied-migrant-children-border

The Biden administration reportedly expects an unprecedented surge of unaccompanied migrant children showing up on the southern border in hopes of being admitted into the United States during its first year.

Border officials anticipate 117,000 children will arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border without a parent or guardian in 2021, according to a White House domestic policy council document to be shared with President Biden this afternoon, which Axios reported Tuesday. The number is higher than the 68,000 taken into custody during the 2014 surge of solo children and the 80,000 who arrived during the 2019 humanitarian crisis at the border.

“I actually think that’s an undercount,” Victor Manjarrez, Jr., a former senior Border Patrol agent who teaches about law and human behavior at the University of Texas at El Paso, told the Washington Examiner.

Manjarrez pointed to the Biden administration’s decision to discontinue the 10-month practice of returning all unaccompanied children to Mexico rather than bringing them into U.S. custody as a leading factor for smugglers sending 2,000 children over the border each week this month. After taking office in January, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas directed border officials not to send any single child south of the border, choosing instead to stick along the lines of a 2007 trafficking law that protected most single children from being deported.

Biden’s Immigration Bill Would Be an Act of National Suicide Figures don’t lie – but liars can figure. Michael Cutler

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2021/03/bidens-immigration-bill-would-be-act-national-michael-cutler/

On February 28, 2021 the New York Times reported: Biden’s Immigration Plan Would Offer Path to Citizenship For Millions.

In reviewing the Biden administration’s catastrophic immigration proposals, the first question that should come to every American’s mind is, how does this benefit America and struggling Americans?

This is especially true because the Biden immigration bill would likely result in the lawful admission of more than 100 million immigrants!

I wrote about this issue in my article: “What Biden’s Immigration Policies Would Do To America: America’s adversaries can’t wait for this massive betrayal.”

Incredibly this fact has been ignored by the mainstream media, but we will explore the true magnitude of the Biden Amnesty shortly.

News coverage of immigration almost always focuses on the aliens and those who profit from the admission of foreign workers but never on the citizens of our nation.
