MY SAY :A HOLIDAY GREETING FROM RUTHFULLY YOURS

T’WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS AND ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE.

NOT A DEMOCRAT WAS STIRRING NOT EVEN A LOUSE.

I LIT HANUKA CANDLES WHEN THERE AROSE SUCH A CLATTER

I RUSHED TO THE WINDOW TO SEE WHAT WAS THE MATTER

I PEERED THROUGH THE WINDOW AND PUT ON MY GLASSES

TWAS A BRIGHT RED SLEIGH PULLED BY EIGHT GLOOMY JACKASSES

WITH AN ORANGE HAIRED DRIVER SHOUTING WITH VERVE

“GIDDYAP YOU ALL YOU FORGOT WHOM YOU SERVE!”

“MAXINE, SCHUMER AND CIAMARELLI WHO BLOWS AND WHISTLES!”

“YOUR SLANDER AND BIAS WILL GET BLUNT DISMISSALS!”

“YON NANCY AND NADLER AND SCHIFF THE LIAR!”

“BRENNAN AND COMEY WITH OPINIONS FOR HIRE!”

“TO SUBVERT DEMOCRACY IS WHAT YOU CHOSE!

SO YOU’LL FIND COAL IN YOUR FIREPLACE HOSE!”

“I’VE GOT TO RUN NOW BEFORE I SLEEP

WITH RALLIES AND BILLS AND PROMISES TO KEEP”

IN A GRACIOUS SPIRIT TO DEFUSE THEIR SPAT,

HE GAVE THEM EACH A GIFT WRAPPED MAGA HAT.

HE LEFT THEM TO PONDER THEIR FAILURE TO ADDRESS

PERTINENT ISSUES WHERE THE PRESIDENT HAD SUCCESS.

WITH THE COUNTDOWN LOOMING FOR NOVEMBER THIRD,

THEIR BOGUS TRIALS WILL LEAVE HIM UNDETERRED.

THEY VOWED TO CONTINUE WITH NASTY ALLEGATIONS,

BUT AMERICA’S BODY POLITIC IS WEARY OF ALL INVESTIGATIONS.

AS THE POLLING NOW INCREASINGLY AVERS

IT’S THE ECONOMY THAT MATTERS TO THE HIMS AND HERS.

SO WITH A HANUKA PRAYER FOR PRESIDENT DONALD THE MACCABEE

WHO JOUSTS WITH FALSE PROPHETS, FAKE NEWS AND THE CULTS OF P.C.

I WISH YOU ALL A HAPPY HANUKA, A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A JOYOUS NEW YEAR!

MY SAY: WHAT IS A COLLECTIVE NOUN FOR THE DEMOCRATS?

A gathering of witches is called a “coven.”  A gathering of ravens who often gang up on their prey or animals that enter their space, is actually called a “congress” or an “unkindness”

Barracudas in numbers are called a “battery.” Vultures in a group are called a “wake.”  Rattlesnakes convening are called a “rhumba.”

By Jove! Here is a perfect collective noun for the Democrats in Congress:

A group of hyenas is called a “cackle.”

Perfect!

MY SAY: SOLDIER RODGER YOUNG AND FRANK LOESSER BY RUTH KING

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2019/12/rodger_young_so

In public school in the Bronx, after World War II, we gathered in the schoolyard, recited the “Pledge of Allegiance,” and made way to the auditorium before classes. There we sang the national anthem and other patriotic songs. Among them was one, “The Ballad of  Rodger Young,” whose melody I found myself humming last week after so many decades. Who was Rodger Young and who wrote the stirring music and lyrics?

Young was born on April 28, 1918 in Ohio. Of small and thin stature, only 5 feet 2 inches, he was athletic and competitive and during his first year in high school in a trial game for the football team he sustained an injury which left him unconscious and led to significant deafness and damage to his vision. His disabilities forced him to leave high school during his second year.

In 1938, at the age of 20, Young joined the Ohio National Guard hoping to earn some money, convinced that his disabilities would foreclose the regular army. He was posted to Company “B” of the 148th Infantry regiment with the 37th Infantry Division. He was a disciplined soldier with small arms skill and when his unit was activated for federal service in 1940 he was promoted to sergeant and squad leader.

In 1942 after America entered the war his regiment was deployed to Fiji and then to the Solomon Islands in preparation for combat in New Georgia. He requested a reduction in rank, fearing that his eye and ear deficits would create a potential risk to his squad.

On July 31, 1943, near Munda on New Georgia, Young was part of a 20-man patrol that was sent out to track Japanese ordnance in enemy occupied territory. Returning from this task, his group was ambushed and pinned down by heavy fire from Japanese machine guns. Four soldiers were killed and Young was wounded. The commanding officer ordered withdrawal, but Young crawled towards the Japanese position and despite being wounded again, he attracted enemy fire. He threw hand grenades at the Japanese and was killed by return fire. His valor and determination enabled his platoon to withdraw with no further casualties.

Young posthumously received the highest military commendation — the the Medal of Honor. CONTINUE AT SITE

MY SAY: NANCY AND TED-HYPOCRISY WRIT LARGE BY RUTH KING

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2019/12/nancy_and_ted__hypocrisy_writ_large.html

Teddy Kennedy of Chappaquiddick infamy made quite a name for himself even after that scandal.

In 1985 Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass) and Sen. Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn) were at a restaurant in Washington D.C., where they both were very drunk. When their dates retired to the ladies’ room, both men summoned a waitress to their private dining room. Kennedy forced the waitress on top of Dodd where they both groped the young woman “sandwiched” between them. Her screams alerted others who separated them.

On March 29, 1991, Senator Kennedy was in a bar carousing with his nephew William Smith, then 30 years old, and his son Patrick. They met two young women whom they invited to their nearby home. Smith and the 29-year-old woman went to the beach, where the woman alleged that he raped her. Although three women were willing to testify that Smith had sexually assaulted them in incidents in the 1980s, their testimony was excluded and Smith was acquitted. Senator Kennedy was upbraided for hosting the seamy event under the influence of alcohol.

And then there is this report:

“1991 Tim Sebastian, a reporter for the London Times, came across an arresting memorandum. Composed in 1983 by Victor Chebrikov, the top man at the KGB, the memorandum was addressed to Yuri Andropov. The subject: Sen. Edward Kennedy.

“On 9-10 May of this year,” the May 14 memorandum explained, “Sen. Edward Kennedy’s close friend and trusted confidant [John] Tunney was in Moscow.” (Tunney was Kennedy’s law school roommate and a former Democratic senator from California.) “The senator charged Tunney to convey the following message, through confidential contacts, to the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Y. Andropov.”

Kennedy’s message was simple. He proposed an unabashed quid pro quo. Kennedy would lend Andropov a hand in dealing with President Reagan. In return, the Soviet leader would lend the Democratic Party a hand in challenging Reagan in the 1984 presidential election. “The only real potential threats to Reagan are problems of war and peace and Soviet-American relations,” the memorandum stated. “These issues, according to the senator, will without a doubt become the most important of the election campaign.”

“Kennedy’s motives? “Like other rational people,” the memorandum explained, “[Kennedy] is very troubled by the current state of Soviet-American relations.” But that high-minded concern represented only one of Kennedy’s motives. Tunney remarked that the senator wants to run for president in 1988…”

Hmmm…..

Here is how Nancy Pelosi eulogized Ted Kennedy when he slipped his mortal coil in 2009

MY SAY: THE GREEK GODDESSES OF THE DEMOCRATS

Anaideia was the Greek Goddess or spirit of ruthlessness, shamelessness and unforgiveness.

Apate was the goddess/personification of fraud, deceit, trickery, deception and guile.

MY SAY: TENURED COWARDS

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2019/12/tenured_cowards.html

I always try to avoid Holocaust metaphor when discussing campus anti-Semitism. But the craven indifference of academic elites to the anti-Semitism that threatens Jewish students on their respective campuses is reminiscent of the purges of Jewish professors and students in the darkening days following Kristallnacht in November of 1938.

When I was a young girl, my parents, emigres from Poland via Bolivia, entertained colleagues and friends who had escaped from the corners of hell in Europe.  In prewar Germany intellectuals and academic professionals were the elite — even their wives were called “Frau Professor” or “Frau Doktor.”  One of my parents’ friends was a physician who had been a well-known medical school professor and pioneer radiologist following in the steps of Wilhelm Röntgen who won  the first Nobel prize in physics in 1901. This particular gentleman was bald and had on his cheek the fencing scar “Renommierschmiss,” a mark of honor sported by many German and Austrian veterans, doctors, lawyers and professors to signify valor and social rank.

On November 10th in 1938, the day after Kristallnacht, Herr Doktor reassured his Frau Doctor Ilse that this was a passing event. He told her that decent, cultured, and educated German intellectuals would be appalled by the violence against Jews.  After all, even as the Nazis were implementing their Nuremberg Laws in 1935 he and “Frau Doktor” were on the “A” list of soirees, salons, dances, dinners, musicales, in which the intellectuals expounded on the joys of reading Goethe or Schiller, avoided politics and listened to the music of great German composers. It was Kultur and class.

But when he went to his medical school his formerly obsequious students who customarily leapt up to help him don his teaching robe, his colleagues and friends, all turned their backs on him.  He was summarily fired.  Other Jewish professors were similarly dismissed and all Jewish professionals lost their licenses. And, with rare exceptions, their former friends and colleagues joined the shunning. Kultur had its limits.

But back to the present — and future. Where is a democracy, a model democracy, routinely slandered with Holocaust and apartheid metaphors?  Where are the jihad-driven efforts to destroy her ignored? Where is the moral world tergiversated so that the real evildoers, Israel’s would-be destroyers, are painted as victims? And where has this morphed into violence and threats to Jews?

Why, in the universities and colleges, of course, where boycott and divest and assorted hate fests may be manipulated or financed by Arab money, but flourish through the studied and outrageous indifference — and worse — of presidents and faculty.

Where are America’s intellectuals, including above all the academics, today? In fact, where are those of the Western world? Ostensibly, they are in the vanguard of those promoting progressive thought and liberal values, staunch opponents of bigotry and racism, virtually quivering with multi-cultural sensitivity. They are silent when anti-Semitic lecturers spew hateful rhetoric and passive when Jewish speakers and students are harassed and vilified. MY SAY: A SONG ON THANKSGIVING DAY

THE HOUSE I LIVE IN-1943

What is America to me
A name, a map, or a flag I see
A certain word, democracy
What is America to me

The house I live in
A plot of Earth, a street
The grocer and the butcher
And the people that I meet

The children in the playground
The faces that I see
All races and religions
That’s America to me

For the rest of the lyrics go to the internet…..It is an interesting story. The music was written by Earl Robinson and the lyrics by Abel Meeropol,  a communist, who later adopted the sons of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. Happy Thanksgiving!

MY SAY: ROE V AMERICAN WARRIORS

President Trump pardoned soldiers facing prison terms for “war crimes” and flouting the military rules of engagement. How can one apply rote rules to decisions made in the moment of high risk situations?

Lt. Col.David Bolgiano, U.S. Air Force and Author of: Combat Self-Defense: Saving America’s Warriors From Risk-Averse Commanders and Their Lawyers wrote:

https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/haditha/themes/roe.html

Rules of engagement are a device used by a commander to set forth the parameters of when, how, for what duration and magnitude and geographical location, and against what targets our forces can employ force, generally deadly force … in a theater of operations.

The rules of engagement, strictly speaking, as they work in the military, contain a caveat … that nothing in these rules of engagement shall limit the right, inherent right, of self-defense. And what’s left unspoken but is legally significant, is the phrase, when confronted with “an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury.”

Why is there confusion over the right to self-defense? …

The confusion over the inherent right of self-defense doesn’t come from the written word. It doesn’t come from the law.  The confusion over the inherent right of self-defense comes from assessing judgment-based shootings after the fact that, in the clear vision of 20/20 hindsight, may not appear to be reasonable when, in fact, by law and by tactics, they were.

In January 2005, a vehicle approached a hastily constructed traffic control point on the route from downtown Baghdad to Baghdad International Airport. The vehicle approached the checkpoint in speeds close to 60 miles per hour, ignored flares and warning signs to slow down and halt, at which point the soldiers on the traffic control point reasonably perceived a threat, an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury, and engaged the vehicle.

In the clear vision of 20/20 hindsight, we learned that it was an Italian intelligence officer driving the vehicle who was, unfortunately, shot and killed.  But that decision at the time the soldier [pulled] the trigger was, nevertheless, reasonable.

And that’s where a lot of the confusion comes from. It comes from folks that don’t understand the tactical dynamics of an encounter and wish to impose, one, either their Hollywood notion of what’s reasonable, or two, try to judge the person by what is learned in the clear vision of 20/20 hindsight.

MY SAY: THE PROFITS OF DOOM

My mailbox is full of late year requests for donations from organizations, institutions, publications, the arts and politicians.

Warning about the growing epidemic of Anti-Semitism is always good when mining the pockets of donors. Take the Anti Defamation League whose avowed purpose is: : “Fighting Anti-Semitism and Hate-The mission of the ADL is to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.”

So, given this lofty purpose how is it that the ADL, in 2017 published an excellent overview on the outsize antisemitic violence, hatred, sermons and school lectures in Moslem nations, and has now simply air-brushed it?

See and hear Charles Jacobs in this video explain it all.

MY SAY: A WORD TO TRUMP’S CRITICS

I am sick and tired of the summer soldiers who get their knickers in a knot over every single Trump tweet, insult, malapropism, exaggeration, mini-scandal, etc.

We had a recent Republican president who dressed impeccably, did not tweet, was a perfect gentleman with perfect manners, never divorced, never groped or harassed or ogled women, had a lovely patrician wife, and an absolute absence of scandal no matter what the media tried to dig up on him, and perfectly groomed brown hair.

That describes George W. Bush the minor 43rd President of the United States who accomplished very little in his two terms. He made one superb speech after 9/11, declared a war against the Taliban but declared “mission accomplished” leaving the Taliban scattered but hardly defeated. Only months after 9/11 he invited the tyrant/monarch of Saudi Arabia, locus and funder of almost all the 9/11 terrorists, to his ranch in Crawford Texas to craft another “peace plan” for Israel. He blinked on China, Iran, North Korea, immigration, regulations and domestic energy production and the economy tanked. He was a mediocre, low energy, president who ignited no patriotic passion.

Donald Trump has outpaced him on every single policy-foreign and national. So frankly I don’t give a hoot about his style…. And if you want Obama redux go vote for the Democrats. .rsk
