Mrs. Zelenskyy Welcomes Vogue to the War Zone By Stacey Lennox

https://pjmedia.com/columns/stacey-lennox/2022/07/27/mrs-zelenskyy-welcomes-vogue-to-the-war-zone-n1615998

Call it the war with the best production value. A propaganda war is being fought between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin. From the slick production of videos about a fighter pilot that never existed to the tall tale about the brave soldiers at Snake Island who all perished, it is easy to see why so many in the West have a Ukrainian flag somewhere in their social media profile.

But it was all garbage wrapped around a sliver of truth at best. Then there was the parade of global dignitaries visiting the war zone, seemingly carefree. First Lady Jill Biden went instead of her husband. Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson went. So did U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.  Even Senators Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Ct.) made a bipartisan trip to get their pictures taken with Zelenskyy. The photo ops that say you were there. Of course, Graham and Blumenthal left with plaques after making profoundly concerning statements about an ongoing conflict:

Today we were treated to a glowing photo spread of Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Volodymyrivna Zelenska in Vogue. This spread follows glowing profiles in some lesser publications such as Today, People, and Parade.  These outlets compiled their pieces from Zelenska’s public statements and career profile. Vogue sent an interview crew into a war zone.

Fauci Torments A Nation

https://issuesinsights.com/2022/07/28/fauci-torments-a-nation/

It will take years if not decades for researchers to document the totality of the cruel harms of the pandemic lock-downs. Whatever the damage, it could have been much worse. With the hindsight of a blind man, and the depravity of a despot, Anthony Fauci said this week the restrictions should have been more draconian than they were. He’s a national headache that just won’t go away.

“If I knew in 2020 what I know now, we would do a lot differently,” Fauci said Monday in an interview on The Hill TV.

“The insidious nature of spread in the community would have been much more of an alarm, and there would have been much, much more stringent restrictions in the sense of very, very heavy encouragement of people to wear masks, physical distancing, what have you.”

Fauci didn’t reference lockdowns by name, but “what have you” is the same as “all of the above,” so don’t think he didn’t have tougher lockdown rules in mind. What else could “much more stringent restrictions” mean? Double-masking and triple-physical distancing? Fauci’s claim that he was nothing more than a bystander who “didn’t recommend locking anything down,” is a “blatant attempt to revise history,” said Jay Bhattacharya, a professor at the Stanford School of Medicine, whose focuses include infectious disease epidemiology.

“Dr. Lockdown owns the school closures and their attendant collateral harms.”

Inflation destroys the small town soul of America It affects main street far more than big corporations. Teresa Mull

https://spectatorworld.com/topic/inflation-destroys-the-small-town-soul-of-america/

My friend Dave Sr. owns the diner up the road and runs it with his son, Dave Jr. The family business is coming up on its fortieth anniversary, and Dave Sr., who’s eighty now — though you’d never guess it — reflected to me recently on the mom ‘n pop shops that have disappeared over the last fifty years or so. He and another local old-timer counted dozens that used to dot the two-lane road between our town and the next town over.

“Now, I don’t think you can count more than five or six [small businesses]!” Dave Sr. said. “And they all made a living out of these places. Between government intervention and red tape and so forth, people are afraid to get into small business.”

Running a small business is the epitome of the American Dream. By working hard and being resourceful, Americans have — historically, at least — been able to support their towns and families, take pride in what they do, and achieve self-reliance. These are all things big government hates. So it’s no wonder inflation, which hurts small towns the most, is skyrocketing out of control, while the Biden administration dismisses it as a “high class problem.”

Dave Sr., Dave Jr., and millions of other rural Americans know the true costs of inflation better than anyone. Dave Jr. told me he’s had to raise the prices of menu items three times already this summer. The price of eggs has risen by more than 60 percent. When the cost of inflation is passed onto the consumer, they cut back on excessive expenditures. That means an elderly widower’s twice-weekly trip to the diner — where he catches up with old friends, makes new ones, finds someone to help him mow his lawn, and enjoys social interactions that extend his life — comes to an end. The ten-year-old girl who bonds with her grandmother over pancakes every Saturday morning stays at home now, because there’s not enough money for gas and food. It’s not long before the diner disappears and there’s nowhere left for people to meet and mingle.

Jan. 6 Committee Hiding Evidence That Absolves Trump by Matt Margolis

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2022/07/26/jan-6-committee-hiding-evidence-that-absolves-trump-n1615808

The key narrative of the Jan. 6 Committee is that Donald Trump wanted to incite the violence that took place that day.

To do this, they’ve hidden and manipulated evidence. As we’ve previously reported, they presented a doctored video of Trump’s speech, interwoven with violent images and audio, while not including the portion of President Trump’s speech in which he told his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically” make their voices heard. Not once did he call for any violence or for them to break into the building.

But the committee has done even more to undermine the truth. Prior to his rally, Trump informed various military leaders that the event would draw a “large number of protestors,” and instructed his then-acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller and Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to ensure it was “safe” by having troops available.

This evidence, not presented (nor denied) by the Jan. 6 Committee, is found in a Pentagon Inspector General report.

“Mr. Miller and GEN Milley met with the President at the White House at 5:30 p.m.,” the report reads. “The primary topic they discussed was unrelated to the scheduled rally. GEN Milley told us that at the end of the meeting, the President told Mr. Miller that there would be a large number of protestors on January 6, 2021, and Mr. Miller should ensure sufficient National Guard or Soldiers would be there to make sure it was a safe event. Gen Milley told us that Mr. Miller responded, ‘We’ve got a plan and we’ve got it covered.’”

FBI whistleblowers claim the agency lied about Hunter Biden’s laptop By Andrea Widburg

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2022/07/fbi_whistleblowers_claim_the_agency_lied_about_hunter_bidens_laptop.html

“We will know that the rule of law exists in this country if these men (and women?) are brought to trial and, if found guilty, thrown into prison for a very long time. So far, the Durham investigation has been a sham, and the pattern is clear: Democrats who engage in illegal activity to advance Democrat party political goals get a pass. Always.”

In late summer 2020, the mother of all October surprises emerged: An abandoned Hunter Biden laptop filled to the brim with information about Hunter’s drug and sex addictions (scurrilous but arguably irrelevant to Joe) plus massive amounts of information about Hunter’s shady business deals with America’s geopolitical enemies, all of which he obtained thanks to the Biden family business (aka Joe Biden using his office to sell out America). The tech companies immediately censored the story but, even more tellingly, the FBI claimed that the manifestly real material was, in fact, “disinformation.” Now, though, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) says that FBI whistleblowers have emerged to say that the FBI lied. Suh-prise, suh-prise, suh-prise, as Gomer Pyle would have said.

Video: How Soros Spent $18B to Control the Media, Defund the Police, and Elect Leftist Prosecutors Author Matt Palumbo exposes the financier’s networks and agenda.

In an in-depth interview with Matt Palumbo, author of The Man Behind the Curtain: Inside the Secret Network of George Soros, at the link below, Palumbo discusses the origins of left-wing billionaire financier Soros and his rise to power as the shadowy figure seemingly pulling the strings behind the scenes in American politics. Palumbo describes the purpose of his book as an opportunity to demystify Soros through extensive documentation of his financial sway across multiple spheres of influence in western society.

Palumbo also touches on the inner workings of Soros’s “Open Society Foundation,” the interconnected web of foundations and charitable organizations from which most of his philanthropic endeavors are launched. Palumbo provides a few examples from the hundreds of organizations George Soros has contributed to that are listed in his book (Black Lives Matter, Acorn, Defund the Police) as well as a detailed list of media publications that are heavily subsidized by Soros funds.

The conversation turns towards Soros’s recent push to promote radically liberal district attorneys and its ramifications on law and order in America, Soros’s role in the 2020 presidential election, along with his efforts to fund liberal colleges and universities throughout the country.

Defund the FBI The Bureau has become irremediably politicized and inveterately corrupt. Robert Spencer

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2022/07/defund-fbi-robert-spencer/

Was anyone really surprised when Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) announced that “highly credible” whistleblowers had given him information about FBI efforts to make the Hunter Biden scandal go away? Grassley wrote to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland Monday that “the information provided to my office involves concerns about the FBI’s receipt and use of derogatory information relating to Hunter Biden, and the FBI’s false portrayal of acquired evidence as disinformation. The volume and consistency of these allegations substantiate their credibility and necessitate this letter.” Will anyone hail me as a prognosticator of extraordinary powers when I predict, correctly, that in response to this letter, Wray and Garland will do absolutely nothing, except possibly to cover their tracks more effectively? No, because anyone who has been paying attention can see that.

The FBI has become a cancer on the American body politic. The FBI must go.

Grassley summarized how the FBI spiked the Hunter Biden material, stating that “the allegations provided to my office appear to indicate that there was a scheme in place among certain FBI officials to undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation.” He noted that a 2020 FBI intelligence assessment that was “used by an FBI headquarters team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation.” He added: “Based on allegations, verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation.”

Voters Give Biden Team Of Advisers Failing Grades: I&I/TIPP Poll Terry Jones

https://issuesinsights.com/2022/07/27/voters-give-biden-team-of-advisers-failing-grades-ii-tipp-poll/

Presidents matter, but so do the people they surround themselves with. A strong team of experienced advisers can have a major impact on a presidency. President Joe Biden’s advisers are a case in point, and perhaps go a long way toward explaining his current low favorability among American voters.

As part of our July I&I/TIPP Poll, we asked the following question about Biden’s various teams of advisers and Cabinet members: “In general, based on what you read, see, or hear, how would you rate the quality of advice President Biden receives from the following teams of senior policy advisers?”

Respondents to the online national poll of 1,643 adults, taken July 6-9, were asked to assign a grade of A (excellent), B (good), C (average), D (poor) or F (unacceptable). The poll has a margin of error of +/-2.5 percentage points.

If Biden’s advisers were students, they’d all be grounded by their parents for earning failing grades.

Biden’s economic team, for instance, received “A” or “B” grades from 31% of poll respondents, while getting “D” or “F” grades from 42%. 20% handed out “C” grades, barely passing.

But 25% gave Biden’s economic team an “F,” perhaps not surprising given the difficulties arising from the forced national COVID lockdown, including a looming recession, the implosion of the small-business sector, the national supply-chain nightmare, a meltdown of our air-transportation and trucking systems, and current inflation over 9%, the highest in 41 years.

Wokeism Is Collapsing On Itself By: Peter Burfeind

https://thefederalist.com/2022/07/25/wokeism-is-collapsing-on-itself/

The evidence of cognitive dissonance is mounting. The left’s house of cards will inevitably collapse.

If there’s a light at the end of the dark tunnel our nation is in right now, it’s because of Horace’s ancient dictum, “You can chase out nature with a pitchfork, but she will keep running back.” Arguably, wokeism is defined by its gnostic rejection of nature on gender, sexuality, the laws of economics, energy, race, speech, and rationality itself.

Yet, nature has the final say, and we’re seeing it in the slow retreat of leftists from wokeism. Nary a day goes by on which a new Substack writer confesses some variation of, “I’m not a right-winger; I’m a proud progressive, but these new leftists are crazy, and I’m done with the Democrats.” They’ve reached a terminus in their minds where they can no longer bear the cognitive dissonance created by the suspension of reality. They’re done drinking the Kool-Aid.

The Liar’s Paradox

Consider the left’s cognitive dissonance on race. They have a Liar’s Paradox problem. The Liar’s Paradox goes, “A Cretan says all Cretans are liars. Is he to be believed?”

On the Ropes Progressive prosecutors are being ousted, one by one. Thomas Hogan

https://www.city-journal.org/marilyn-mosby-just-the-latest-progressive-prosecutor-to-go

Last week, Baltimore state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby lost in the Democratic primary contest to retain her position. Around the country, other de-prosecuting prosecutors are being removed one by one, as their failing policies and ethical problems culminate in disorder and public distrust. Is the progressive prosecutor movement on the decline?

Mosby’s original campaign platform was to ignore entire categories of crimes and to reduce sentences even for violent criminals. The criminals got the message: Baltimore was a free-fire zone. Homicides exceeded 300 per year in the Charm City every year that Mosby was in office, making Baltimore one of the nation’s most dangerous municipalities. People and businesses fled the city, with over 35,000 residents exiting, even as the rest of Maryland grew in population. Just a few weeks before the primary, a report from the Maryland Public Policy Institute detailed how many of the homicides in Baltimore were committed by criminals who would have been in jail under a normal prosecution regime. Mosby did not help her position by ending up under federal indictment for perjury charges alleging that she made false statements while applying for pandemic-related loans to buy a vacation home in Florida. Mosby’s victorious opponent, Ivan Bates, is something of an unknown quantity, but he campaigned explicitly on a public-safety platform, as his campaign materials make clear: “To build a safer Baltimore, we must have a functional and efficient prosecutor’s office led by a State’s Attorney who prioritizes public safety.”
