New Study Argues COVID Herd Immunity May Have Already Been Reached in Some Regions of US By Jack Davis

https://www.westernjournal.com/new-study-argues-covid-herd-immunity-may-alread

A new study that pushes back against some accepted notions of how the coronavirus is transmitted argues that herd immunity might already have been reached in some parts of the nation.

The study, “Persistent heterogeneity not short-term overdispersion determines herd immunity to COVID-19,” was published Aug. 10 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

It pointed out that current infection models assume there are so-called “super-spreaders,” which are a small number of individuals who, because of their social activity, pass the virus along to large numbers of other people.

In this model, everyone everywhere has an equal chance of infection.

Writing at Reason, Ronald Bailey offered an interpretation of what the study thinks is happening instead.

Bailey wrote that the researchers define a concept they call heterogeneity “as the biological and social susceptibility of individual members of the population to COVID-19 viral infection.”

The study relies on what is called “biological heterogeneity,” which includes “the strength of immune responses, genetics, age, and comorbidities,” and social heterogeneity, which measures close contacts among individuals, according to Reason.

“Taking the effects of biological and social heterogeneity on COVID-19 transmissibility, the researchers calculate that the herd immunity threshold is likely somewhere between 20 and 30 percent of the population,” Bailey wrote.

The researchers then conducted a modeling exercise of what might happen this fall, which has been cited as a time when a feared second wave of coronavirus infections might take place.

Hydroxychloroquine Follies How a corrupt elite disregards Americans’ health for political and financial advantage. Joseph Hippolito

Andrew Wilkow, a host on Sirius XM’s “Patriot” channel, routinely makes a perceptive observation about the conflict between President Donald Trump and the Democratic Party.

Trump could cure cancer, Wilkow said, and the Democrats would defend the rights of tumors.

Wilkow’s observation is not so absurd when applied to the Covid-19 pandemic.

A coalition of “progressives,” the Democratic Party, government bureaucrats and media refuses to promote or make an effective, inexpensive treatment available. Why? So they can politically exploit the pandemic for as long as possible and get the Presidential ticket of former Vice President Joe Biden and California Sen. Kamala Harris elected.

New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman inadvertently revealed that strategy when CNN’s Wolf Blitzer interviewed him Aug. 3. Blitzer began by expressing hopelessness about the pandemic.

“I mean, it’s a sad situation what’s going on right now, and I don’t see any end in sight,” Blitzer said. “Hopefully there will be a therapeutic that comes out that can prevent people from getting really sick and dying. Hopefully, there will be a vaccine at some point that will ease this. But right now, it doesn’t seem to have any end in sight. Do you see an end in sight right now?”

Friedman issued a surprising response.

“Oh, I do see an end in sight,” Friedman said. “It’s in November, Wolf. And let me be very clear about this. Wolf, I will walk, I will crawl, I will slither, I will bike, I will hike, but I will be going to the polls to vote for Joe Biden. Because until and unless we replace this president and this administration, we’re going to be having this same conversation every day, all right?”

A previous entry in this space, written after an active-duty Army sergeant moonlighting as an Uber driver in Austin shot and killed a “mostly peaceful” anti-police protester who pointed his rifle at the driver at close range, talked about the make-believe revolution that has been taking place on the streets of America’s worst-run cities this summer:

Was this a sad occurrence? Sure. It’s never a happy thing that a 28-year-old is gunned down on a city street in America.

Yet what happened to Garrett Foster was bound to happen to someone, because too many Americans, particularly among the participants in the make-believe revolution, haven’t learned a real lesson yet.

Which is that people get killed in a revolution.

Point a gun at the driver of a car you’re blocking in on a city street, after footage of drivers being pulled out of cars and beaten in similar circumstances is everywhere on the internet, and you will be one of the lives claimed in that revolution.

Stupid lives don’t matter. Not when those lives are risked so irresponsibly.

Trump Lit Up the Skies (And the Right) While the Streets Raged — And Remade Conventions Forever Christopher Bedford

The most impressive political fireworks display most will recall ever seeing on their TV sets finished President Donald Trump’s address at the close of the four-day Republican National Convention (RNC) Thursday evening, wrapping up the party’s rallies, energizing the president’s supporters, and changing the convention genre forever.

Just one week after a physically isolated, professionally awkward, and visually timid Democratic National Convention (DNC) finale featured Joe and Jill Biden walking down an empty hallway to a cute fireworks display while socially distanced cars honked their horns in a Delaware parking lot, the Washington sky was alight and a live concert played while hundreds of attendees applauded on the White House’s South Lawn.

The president’s speech began and finished with American history, distilling the platform he ran on and the accomplishments of his administration into an hour-long address focused on “Promises Made, Promises Kept.” Its themes included industry and fairer trade deals versus outsourcing and China; law and order and police versus lawlessness, murder, and defund movements; and late-term abortion versus the innocent unborn and a moral America.

Grenell Torches ‘Unlimited Globalization’ that ‘Hollowed Out’ U.S. John Binder

Richard Grenell, the former Acting Director of National Intelligence and former United States Ambassador to Germany, torched “unlimited globalization” and it’s devastating impact on America’s working and middle class during his speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC).

“No candidate [in the Republican presidential primary in 2015] could bring themselves to admit that something had gone badly wrong with American foreign policy. That the American voter, the American soldier, and the American taxpayer had all been let down,” Grenell said. “Except for one – Donald Trump.” Grenell went on to say:

After the end of the Cold War, Democrats and Republicans in Washington bought into the illusion that the whole world would start to resemble America. And so they started to pursue unlimited globalization. They welcomed China into the World Trade Organization … but they didn’t ground any of it in the interests of the average American.

Grenell added:

So for decades, while Washington politicians built a global system, American wages stagnated. Our great cities and industries were hollowed out. Entire communities were devasted, and our manufacturing plants were shipped off to China. That’s what happened when Washington stopped being the capital of the United States, and started being the capital of the world.

Enemies of the State: Biden, Harris, Pelosi, and Schumer By Mark Alexander

Anytime Democrats invoke their oath “to support and defend” our Constitution, it should evoke herniating laughter!

“Our country is in danger, but not to be despaired of. Our enemies are numerous and powerful; but we have many friends, determining to be free, and heaven and earth will aid the resolution. On you depend the fortunes of America. You are to decide the important question, on which rest the happiness and liberty of millions yet unborn. Act worthy of yourselves.” —Joseph Warren (1775)

Each week, I typically have to choose from among 10 or more active and carryover topics to write about. Choosing just one can be a challenge.

I’ve been holding a topic — “Enemies of the People” — for six weeks, waiting on Joe Biden to announce Kamala Harris as his 2020 running mate.

The “enemies” topic was high on my list this week, and then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi opened her pie hole, making it the indisputable frontrunner.

EXPOSÉ: Biden/Obama gave Iran $150 billion – $300 million for each US soldier they killed

EXPOSÉ: Biden/Obama gave Iran $150 billion – $300 million for each US soldier they killed

In a recent TV campaign ad, Democrat Nominee for US President, Joseph Biden, accused President Trump of ‘betrayal’ for allegedly ignoring intelligence that Russia put a bounty on heads of American soldiers in Afghanistan.

Once again, it’s another “Samestream” Media fake news story, and Pres. Trump’s National Security Advisor O’Brien cateforically stated

“The president’s career CIA briefer decided not to brief him because it was unverified intelligence.”
Despite this contextual clarification, Biden in his ad goes on to fulminate that “This is beyond the pale. It’s a betrayal of the most sacred duty we bear as a nation–protect & equip our troops when we go into harm’s way.”
Since Biden has raised the issue, let’s look at how Vice President Biden betrayed his “most sacred duty” by ignoring the murder of US troops in Iraq at the hands of Iranians. In fact, despite the fact that VP Biden knew that the Defense Department had already conclusively found by July 9, 2015 that Iran had directly murdered a minimum 500 US soldiers with Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) in Iraq over the past seven years, a mere five days later, on July 14, 2015, VP Biden cheer-led the Iran Nuclear deal that handed Iran $150 Billion dollars.

Do the math. That means that in 2015, VP Biden paid Iran $300 million for each US soldier Iran murdered.
VP Biden and President Obama are the greatest betrayers of our soldiers in the history of America.

Trump pops to 52%: ‘Best job approval rating on record,’ up with blacks, even Democrats by Paul Bedard,

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/washington-secrets/trump-pops-to-52-best-job-approval-rating-on-record-up-with-blacks-even-democrats

Buoyed by blacks and independent voters, as well as urban dwellers shocked by the Black Lives Matter protest violence raging in some cities, President Trump’s approval rating has hit a new high, according to a survey heavy with minority voters.

The latest Zogby Analytics poll just shared with Secrets had Trump’s approval at 52%. “The president has recorded his best job approval rating on record,” said pollster Jonathan Zogby.

What’s more, his approval rating among minorities was solid and, in the case of African Americans, shockingly high. Zogby said 36% of blacks approve of the president, as do 37% of Hispanics and 35% of Asians.

Biden Didn’t Give An Acceptance Speech: He Gave A Farewell Address Mychal Massie

https://mychal-massie.com/biden-didnt-give-an-acceptance-speech-he-gave-a-farewell-address/

I don’t believe Joe Biden gave an acceptance speech at the Democrat convention. I believe he gave his farewell address.

It’s beyond rational for Democrats and their media lapdogs to pretend Biden’s fit to be president if he actually had all of his marbles. But he doesn’t and therefore he isn’t; and it’s darned well time this charade ends.

Biden is an Erebusic bifurcation staged as a prolusion for the person who will eventually replace him. For those who struggle with simple English, I’m saying Democrats for reasons known only to them never intended for Biden to be more than a puppet until they install the person they really want.

The Democrat party is a lot of things and everyone those things are bad, but I cannot believe they’re foolish enough to actually think Biden is fit for office, much less fit to be president. How dishonest does one have to be to pretend that a man who doesn’t know what room of the house he is in from hour to hour and who cannot distinguish his wife from his sister, and who creepily sniffs women’s hair in public.

Biden’s use of the phrase: “C’mon man” is identifiable with senile old men found most often residing in monitored care facilities, where their ability to come and go is restricted.

After Trump, a Different GOP Win or lose, the party won’t return to the old orthodoxy. Populist ideas have put down deep roots.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/after-trump-a-different-gop-11598197856

Mr. Jindal was governor of Louisiana, 2008-16, and a candidate for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.

Many Beltway Republicans, not to mention Democrats, are eager to move past the Trump era and return to “regular order.” Democrats are measuring the drapes in the Oval Office, with a confident air reminiscent of Hillary Clinton four years ago. Yet it would be foolish to count President Trump out—or assume that if he loses, he won’t leave a mark on his party. Whether Mr. Trump leaves office next year or in 2025, Republican voters will likely continue their push for populist policies rather than revert to traditional conservative orthodoxy on issues like trade, immigration and foreign policy.

Political figures shouldn’t try to imitate Mr. Trump’s style. He is one of a kind, and his approach is authentic and effective for him. Tweeting like Mr. Trump won’t come off the same way from another politician. Moreover, voters tend to favor candidates whose strengths compensate for the weaknesses of their predecessors. After eight years of the slick Bill Clinton, voters elected the blunt George W. Bush. He in turn gave way to the professorial Barack Obama. Though candidates won’t succeed in trying to be like Mr. Trump, it’s probable many will try and fail.

The president’s core appeal is another matter. The image of an outsider sent to “drain the swamp” will continue to resonate with voters fed up with a permanent ruling political class focused on promoting its own interests. While everyday Republicans are not looking for a mini-Trump, they will back candidates that pledge to continue his fight on behalf of working Americans against elites in both parties. They see a direct correlation between his trade, immigration and corporate policies and their own economic welfare.
