AG Bill Barr: Media On A “Jihad” To Discredit Trump And Hydroxychloroquine By Ian Schwartz

In an interview with FNC’s Laura Ingraham, Attorney General Bill Barr said when the 30-day quarantine period ends we must “consider alternative ways of protecting people” that will ensure civil liberties are balanced properly. He stated that the coronavirus response is not an excuse for “broad deprivations of liberty.” Barr also spoke about his concern about the Bill Gates Foundation initiative to tag people who have been cleared of the coronavirus.

“I think we have to be very careful to make sure… that the draconian measures that are being adopted are fully justified, and there are not alternative ways of protecting people,” Barr said Wednesday. “And I think, you know, when this – when this period of time is — at the end of April expires, I think we have to allow people to adapt more than we have and not just tell people to go home and hide under the bed, but allow them to use other ways – social distancing and other means – to protect themselves.”

Barr criticized the media for going on a “jihad” against President Trump to discredit the use of hydroxychloroquine.

Dem Governor Who Banned Hydroxychloroquine Gets Caught Hoarding It Ken Webster, Jr.

The Democrat Governor of Nevada has done something incredibly suspicious that may affect the health of millions of people.

If this doesn’t sound suspicious, nothing does. Is this Democrat leader playing partisan politics with people’s lives?

Townhall.com reports:

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, Democrat, had a kneejerk reaction to President Trump’s optimism about a malaria drug that might be an effective treatment for the Wuhan coronavirus. Trump was hopeful about the drug, so anti-Trump Democrats like Sisolak were against it. Gov. Sisolak banned (hydroxy)chloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19, ostensibly over concern of hoarders stockpiling the medicine and causing shortages for patients who use the drug for other ailments like Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis. But while the governor restricted the public from receiving the potentially life-saving drug, Nevada’s Department of Corrections began stockpiling the drug for prisoners.

Despite overwhelming evidence suggesting the use of (hydroxy)chloroquine may be an effective treatment for COVID19 patients, the Nevada governor banned the drug & then started stockpiling it.

DeBLASIO – Ventilator Need ‘Much Less Than Expected’

www.theepochtimes.com/nyc-mayor-ventilator-need-much-less-than-expected_3303696.html

NEW YORK—New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said on April 8 that the city’s need for ventilators is much lower than projected.

“In the last few days, we’ve actually seen fewer ventilators needed than were projected,” de Blasio said. “We expected the number of ventilators being needed being more and more going into this week. We’ve seen actually much fewer needed than we expected.”

Last week, the city’s daily need for ventilators grew by 200 to 300 units as hospitals dealt with a surge of COVID-19 patients. The growth has dropped off dramatically this week, with 100 or fewer ventilators added every day, according to de Blasio.

The mayor, a Democrat, said the city had sufficient ventilators for the week ahead. The city still needs more ventilators, “but much less than expected,” the de Blasio said.

“That’s a good sign. The hospitalizations have stabilized. For a long time that just kept going up and up. We’re now seeing some leveling off,” he added.

How Misinformation About the U.S. Needing ‘1 Million Ventilators’ Spread Even the New England Journal of Medicine was misled. Jeryl Bier

The global COVID-19 crisis seems on track to eclipse 9/11 as the leading defining episode of the 21st century thus far. The dystopian trajectory of the pandemic calls for clear, accurate information to ensure efficient distribution and use of resources. Yet one recent example of misinformation related to the likely total number of necessary ventilators (indispensable devices in treating the most serious cases of COVID-19) not only appeared at major media outlets, but even misled the highly respected New England Journal of Medicine. The error conflates the total number of ventilators required with the number of patients who may need the use of a ventilator over the course of the pandemic. How the error spread is a cautionary if convoluted tale.

On March 25, the New York Times published an article titled “Amid Desperate Need for Ventilators, Calls Grow for Federal Intervention.” That same day, former Timesreporter and author Alex Berenson pointed out a flaw in the article on Twitter.  The article asserted that “[t]he United States currently has between 160,000 and 200,000 ventilators, but could need up to a million machines over the course of the outbreak, according to the Society of Critical Care Medicine.” As Berenson noted, the study in question did not call for 1 million ventilators, but rather that “as many as one million people in the United States [may] need treatment with a ventilator over the course of the pandemic.” [emphasis added]

On the same day the Times posted a correction of that article, the Times published another article that made the same error about the study. The second article, titled “For Dr. Deborah Birx, Urging Calm Has Come With Heavy Criticism,” used the identical inaccurate wording that appeared in the first article: “The United States currently has between 160,000 and 200,000 ventilators but could need up to a million over the course of the outbreak, according to the Society of Critical Care Medicine.” Despite the first correction, the second correction took several days to appear and did not note the Times’s repetition of the error.

The AP begins revising history to attack Trump Carol Brown

The media are not only rude and confrontational at press briefings, but they’re also re-writing history about how and when information on the virus came to light.

Facts don’t matter. There is only one goal: Get Trump.

Toward that end, manipulating timelines has become quite popular as evidenced most recently in this AP report:

As the first alarms sounded in early January that an outbreak of a novel coronavirus in China might ignite a global pandemic, the Trump administration squandered nearly two months that could have been used to bolster the federal stockpile of critically needed medical supplies and equipment.

Well that’s an interesting tale. Here are a few pesky details that were overlooked.

On January 14th, the corrupt World Health Organization (WHO) claimed there was no human to human transmission of the coronavirus.

Adam Schiff’s Dereliction of Duty Regarding Communist China

www.theepochtimes.com/adam-schiffs-dereliction-of-duty-regarding-communist-china_3299388.html

If ever there were a textbook case in Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), it is Rep. Adam Schiff of California. Since the start of Trump’s presidency he has been at the forefront of investigating the administration and the president with an avidity that approaches, even surpasses, if that is possible, monomania.

In doing so he has been a font of disinformation that might make the KGB blush. First was the bogus Russia probe and the lies surrounding the FISA court, then the endless impeachment over an ambiguous phone call and, as of last week, his proposal for a “9-11” style commission to study the U.S. response to the virus, no doubt with the president in the crosshairs.

But, as usual, Schiff is barking up the wrong TDS tree, this time to the extent of dereliction of his duty as chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI).

The investigation by his committee that should be undertaken is the role of China—specifically the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because this was not the work or fault of the Chinese people—in deliberately deceiving the world about the provenance and extent of the novel coronavirus.

If that is not the mission of the HPSCI, what is?

John Durham investigation intensifies focus on John Brennan by Jerry Dunleavy

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/john-durham-investigation-intensifies-focus-on-john-brennan

U.S. Attorney John Durham’s review of the Russia investigation is putting increased scrutiny on former CIA Director John Brennan, searching for any undue influence he may have had during 2017’s intelligence community assessment of Russian interference.

Durham, selected by Attorney General William Barr last year to lead this inquiry, drove to Washington, D.C., in March to ensure the investigation stayed on track during the coronavirus outbreak. The top Connecticut federal prosecutor is looking into highly sensitive issues, including whether Brennan took politicized actions to pressure the rest of the intelligence community to match his conclusions about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s motivations, according to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal.

Officials said Durham has been interviewing CIA officials this year, zeroing in on those at the National Intelligence Council, a center within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence which oversaw the collaboration between the CIA, FBI, and National Security Agency in putting together the 2017 assessment, and looking at how the work product was finalized.

Former Obama adviser Plouffe predicts ‘historical level’ of turnout by Trump supporters BY JOE CONCHA

https://thehill.com/homenews/media/490810-former-obama-adviser-plouffe-predicts-

Former Obama campaign manager David Plouffe on Thursday predicted that supporters of President Trump will turn out “at a historical level” on Election Day, creating a “very dangerous” scenario for former Vice President Joe Biden.

Plouffe, speaking on the “Fox News Rundown” podcast shortly after record-high jobless claims were announced, said Trump voters will head to the polls to cast their ballots for the president despite the coronavirus pandemic and economic fallout.

“You look at the economic situation and say, ‘How can an incumbent win in that?’ But, you know, no one’s blaming Trump for the damage,” Plouffe said. “I think if you can lay his crisis response at his feet and connect that to the economy, I do think that’s some headwind he’s got to run into.”

Plouffe, who was considered the architect of former President Obama’s successful 2008 White House bid, said Trump is still well positioned for repeat victories in Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin “because his base is so solid.”

The epidemic of non-compliance James Comey left behind still ails the FBI ‘A careless and negligent culture’ was allowed to fester under Comey’s leadership, former top FBI official says.By John Solomon

https://justthenews.com/accountability/political-ethics/epidemic-non-compliance-james-comey-left-behind-still-ails-fbi

Often one to claim the high ground, ex-FBI Director James Comey lectured lawmakers in the aftermath of the bungled Russia collusion investigation, assuring them that the bureau’s procedures for securing a warrant to spy on Americans were top-notch and conscientiously followed.

The FBI’s Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act compliance is a “labor-intensive” and “top-tier” program that protects Americans civil liberties by ensuring evidence is “very, very carefully scrubbed” for accuracy, Comey told House members in a closed-door deposition back in December 2018.

Fifteen month later, the Justice Department’s inspector general blew a hole in Comey’s representation. His review of warrant applications in more than two dozen FISA cases over the last five years that found that every one of them failed to meet the requirements of the Woods Procedures, which mandate the compilation of documentary evidence in support of each fact in a warrant application.

Fauci offers more conservative death rate in academic article than in public virus briefings By Sharyl Attkisson

http://stupidfrogs.org/articles/fauci_offers_more_conservative_death_rate_in_academic_article_thatn_in_public_briefings.html

You’ve probably heard that COVID-19 is far deadlier than the flu. But it could turn out to be more akin to a severe flu season. Surprisingly, both of those assessments come from the same authority at the same time: Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s chief infectious disease specialist.

Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has repeatedly cited more jarring figures in public. For instance, Fauci declared in March 11 congressional testimony that the current coronavirus “is 10 times more lethal than the seasonal flu,” which would be about 1 percent. His testimony generated news headlines that blared across the internet and television news, and it remains frequently cited today.

But among his learned colleagues in academia, he has provided the more conservative analysis.

“[T]he case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%,” Fauci wrote in an article published in the New England Journal of Medicine on March 26. “This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of COVID-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.”
