One might have hoped that the German Right would learn a few lessons from the Merkel disaster. It has not.

The European People’s Party (EPP), the largest political group in the European Parliament — in which the CDU is a member party — appointed Ursula von der Leyen as head of the European Commission. Under her leadership of the European Union, the economy is collapsing, industry is disappearing and Islamism is proliferating. Supposedly, all of that does not matter because Europeans have the Holy Grail: the “energy transition” to a “zero-carbon” Europe, and more regulations than all the other civilizations combined.

Unfortunately, that policy is an absolute myth. “Zero-carbon Europe”, a physical impossibility, will never happen. Even if it did, it would make no difference to the global explosion in CO2 emissions. Europe accounts for just 8% of global CO2 emissions. Even if Europe ceased to exist, it would make little difference to global CO2 emissions. They would continue to grow on all five continents.

To get Germany and Europe out of this rut, would it not be more constructive for the CDU to consider governing with the AfD?

Today, Germany embraces the ideologies of “green energy” and a zero-carbon society — a society that no longer emits CO2. Germans seem serious about ideology; they seem serious about everything. Once they buy into an ideology, it might be hard to change their mind.

This is how Chancellor Angela Merkel came to power (2005-2021). Many forget that she did not emerge from the extreme green left, although judging by her record, one might think so. She came, in fact, from the CDU/CSU, Germany’s “center-right” party.

It seems everyone but the Democrats have had a bit of fun with President Joe Biden’s insulting characterization of former President Donald Trump’s supporters as “garbage” (and, yes, he did mean Trump’s supporters, not Trump himself). Not so funny is what it shows about the Democrats, who seem to loathe any American who doesn’t support them.

It started with a bad joke told by a comedian, one of 30 warmup speakers at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally, who referred to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.” Trump didn’t make the remark, nor did he approve of it.

“This joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign,” Trump campaign senior adviser Danielle Alvarez said.

But in a phone call with an Hispanic voter group, Biden unleashed a tirade: “The only garbage I see floating out there is his (Trump’s) supporters,” he said. “His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it is un-American.”

In fact, Trump demonized no one. But Biden did, namely the 74 million-plus people who voted for Trump in the last election, and the millions more who will vote for him this time around.

If Turkey has the right to respond to a terrorist attack by bombing dozens of targets belonging to Kurdish militants in Iraq and Syria, why is Israel being condemned for responding to the October 7 Hamas-led atrocities against its own citizens? Just because of the “two-state solution”: Michigan and Minnesota?

Not only is Erdogan lying when he accuses Israel of “genocide,” but he is also proving that he is a big hypocrite. If he is really worried about the safety of the Muslims in the Gaza Strip, why does he continue to support Hamas, while denying Israel the right to defend itself against Islamist terrorism? If he believes that he has the right to bomb Kurdish militants in Syria and Iraq, why is he denouncing Israel for taking the same action against Palestinian Islamist terrorists?

The complicit silence of the anti-Israel groups on US university campuses towards Turkey’s crimes is simply evidence of a staggering racism and hypocrisy.

Earlier this month, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel of committing “genocide” in the Gaza Strip in its counterterrorism operation against the Iran-backed Hamas terrorist group. Hamas had launched the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, murdering 1,200 Israelis, wounding thousands, and kidnapping more than 240 hostages. Erdogan, whose country has been hosting and supporting some of the leaders of Hamas, threatened that Israel will “eventually pay the price for this genocide.” He added: “There will be no peace in the world without accountability for the genocide in Gaza.”

Erdogan is currently facing the same charges he has leveled against Israel. The only difference is that many in the world are silent when Turkey targets the Kurds in Syria and Iraq, but continue to protest against Israel for defending itself against Hamas murderers and rapists responsible for the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.

The U.S. Department of State is charged with advancing American interests abroad through complex and delicate diplomatic missions, as well as maintaining the safety of those missions and the Americans serving them.

The institution’s lodestar should be the national interest, but under President Joe Biden, the State Department has demoted that critical objective in favor of a new global agenda: to spread radical gender theory to foreign nations.

The shift began at the top. President Biden and, in turn, the apparatus beneath him led America’s leftward charge on the world stage. Upon taking office in 2021, the administration used the previous year’s racial unrest as a pretext to issue a slew of executive orders and memoranda entrenching left-wing ideologies in all levels of the federal government, under the guise of “diversity, equity, and inclusion,” or DEI.

As part of this initiative, the White House required each federal agency to submit detailed DEI progress reports regularly, appoint a chief diversity officer, and create “Agency Equity Teams,” whose leaders were tasked with “delivering equitable outcomes.” These requirements contributed to what the president called “an ambitious whole-of-government equity agenda.”

The gender component of this agenda spread to the State Department through the president’s “Memorandum on Advancing the Human Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Persons Around the World.” Published in February 2021, this memorandum directed State and other agencies to monitor closely and report on the “LGBTQI+” policies of our allies, to “broaden the number of countries willing to support and defend” the radical Left’s understanding of gender—for example, by funding pro-transgender “civil society advocates” in order to shift public opinion in those countries—and to tie in the principles of gender theory to America’s foreign-aid programs.

If necessary, the memo maintained, agencies should use “the full range of diplomatic and assistance tools” to ensure foreign governments’ compliance with this agenda, including “financial sanctions, visa restrictions, and other actions.”

The National Institutes of Health, which provides funding for breakthroughs in medical science, has long enjoyed a trustworthy reputation. But, in keeping with the Biden administration’s “whole-of-government equity agenda,” the NIH has shifted its priorities away from science and toward “the science of scientific workforce diversity,” subordinating medicine to the latest ideological fad: diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI.

With the help of Open the Books, a nonprofit research organization, we have obtained documents detailing the NIH’s descent into left-wing racialism. The agency, which is supposed to prioritize hard science, has made DEI a top priority, shelling out millions on “diversity” initiatives that do nothing to advance medical research.

At the beginning of his term, President Biden signed an executive order implementing DEI throughout the federal bureaucracy and Congress directed the NIH to develop “a strategic plan with long-term and short-term goals to address the racial, ethnic, and gender disparities at NIH.” In short: less focus on curing cancer, and more attention to making sure no one cures cancer without acknowledging his “responsibility to correct systemic racism and inequities.”

The NIH immediately got to work implementing the executive order across the mammoth agency. The plan, which applied to fiscal years 2023 through 2027, required “the participation of all 27 Institutes and Centers (ICs); Offices within the Office of the Director (OD); and working groups, staff committees, advisory groups, and employee groups across NIH.” Altogether, the agency reported, it had “identified a community of almost 100 offices, committees, and groups working within the NIH-wide DEIA ecosystem.”

Overseeing this bureaucracy is the NIH’s Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, which has more than 50 employees. The office’s mission: to “identify and eliminate discrimination from the agency’s personnel policies, practices, and working conditions.” As part of its efforts, it has created digital information hubs on “Understanding Systemic Racism” and “Racism in Health,” and planned an “Anti-Bullying Training” session for employees—all methods to advance racialist ideology, rather than the department’s scientific mission.

Last April, the Republican-led House Committee on Homeland Security caught the Harris-Biden administration spending your taxpayer dollars to fly military-age Hattian men into America. Charter flights would land in the middle of the night and discharge tens of thousands of illegals. Once caught, it stopped for a while. Now, Mumbles and Giggles have resumed the program in a way that costs you more, and all the illegal passengers are approved by the gangs running Haiti.

The overnight flights of the “slip them in at 2:00 AM when no one is watching” program were easy to track. Websites such as Flight Aware allowed anyone to follow the planes all the way to their landings at more than 50 U.S. airports. Knowing they were busted, Biden-Harris changed their M.O. They stopped the charters on the Fly by Night Airlines. They now pay traditional U.S. airlines to slip them in with their regular passengers.

At the microscale, the process is a bit complicated for young Hattian men. First, they must get to the airport in Port-au-Prince. In the aftermath of hurricanes and an earthquake, it isn’t easy to get there from remote villages. Despite billions of dollars funneled through the Clinton-Bush Initiative, many rural roads are still impassable. What else would you expect when the donated dollars went to a country rated by Transparency International as one of the most corrupt in the world? But no roads – no problem. Since the roads don’t work, U.S. taxpayer-paid helicopters fly the young men to Toussaint Louverture International Airport. With its 9900-foot runways, Toussaint can accommodate even the biggest airliners.

One might think U.S. airlines would stop service to a country where the terms “government” and “gangs” are synonymous. But there is money to be made flying the illegals into the U.S., so three of our airlines still serve the Haitian capital.

In the last two weeks, Kamala Harris has been trying to revive her stagnant campaign by smearing Trump as being Hitlerian and a fascist. She claims Trump is planning to put his enemies in encampments.

Yet in the modern era, it was not Trump who put large numbers of U.S. residents and citizens into “relocation camps,” but liberal Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt who sent Japanese-American citizens and residents into them.

If Harris refers to Trump’s supposed fascist policies during his prior four-year tenure, there is no such evidence.

Nonetheless, the once “joyful” Harris is ending her campaign by trafficking in lies and smears reminiscent of the Joe McCarthy era.

Recall that fascists hijack law enforcement and the military to suspend constitutional rights and punish enemies. But Trump did neither.

Instead, in 2016, a corrupt FBI went after Trump himself during the Obama administration with the bogus Steele dossier.

The FBI, which in 2016 had hired the faker Steele, in 2020, fused with social media to suppress accurate news reporting of the embarrassing Hunter Biden laptop scandal.

A number of FBI directors and intelligence officials—John Brennan, James Clapper, James Comey, Andrew McCabe—who openly sought to destroy Trump had a long history of either lying or feigning amnesia under oath.

Fascists try to warp the legal system. But Trump’s own Justice Department selected an independent special counsel to investigate the invented Russian collusion accusations against him.

In vast contrast, the Biden Justice Department coordinated with Georgia prosecutors Fani Willis and Nathan Wade, special counsel Jack Smith, Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg, and New York Attorney General Letitia James to prosecute Trump, bankrupt him, and keep off the campaign trail.

Fascists use their governments to destroy their enemies.

During Trump’s term, for the first time in history, the House of Representatives impeached a first-term president twice. And in another first, the Senate tried Trump as a private citizen.

A self-styled “anonymous” federal official bragged openly of deliberately, and likely unlawfully, leading a bureaucratic cabal to sabotage Trump’s lawful executive orders.

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, in collusion with other bureaucrats, deliberately leaked a classified presidential phone call in an effort to ensure that Trump was impeached.

Fascists seek to change existing laws to destroy opponents and illegally consolidate power.

Ever since FDR accused Wendel Wilkie of using “Hitler tactics” back during the 1940 election, calling your opponent Hitler has been a rite of passage since even before Joe Biden was born.

Goldwater, Reagan and both Bushes, were accused of Hitlerism, Nazism or fascism.

No Democrat was too respectable to get in the game including MLK who claimed, “we see danger signs of Hitlerism in the candidacy of Mr. Goldwater.”

Barry Goldwater was half Jewish, a WWII vet and a lifetime member of the NAACP who helped found the NAACP’s Arizona chapter, and seemingly the worst possible candidate for ‘Hitlerism’.

Except for Trump who has Jewish family members and is performing so well among Jewish, Latino and black voters that his opponent and her media have to compare him to Hitler.

There was a time when comparing your opponent to Hitler was a mostly harmless form of watering down some of the most horrific events of the twentieth century for political gain.

The university has spent more time monitoring, investigating, and punishing one pro-Israel Assistant Professor, Shai Davidai, for daring to deplore the treatment of Jewish students on campus, for trying to interrupt anti-Israel demonstrations, and for suggesting that Cas Holloway, the chief operating officer in Columbia’s administration, has “an antisemitism problem,” than they have spent on all the faculty members who have praised Hamas’ brutal attack on October 7, 2023, such as Joseph Massad, or who have been vocal in their support of anti-Israel students who have been harassing Jewish students as they tried to get to class, while they call loudly for the destruction of the Jewish state.

…Davidai explicitly claimed his ban from campus was the result of retaliation, characterizing the choice as being due to the fact that during and after the October 8 protest, he was “not afraid to stand up to the hateful mob,” assumedly referring to protesters. He also stated that he was the victim of retaliation because he was “not afraid to stand up to [Holloway].” He purported that Holloway “allowed” students to invite Palestinian prisoner support organization Samidoun and one of its organizers, Khaled Barakat, who Davidai referred to as a “terrorist,” to campus last year and did not take action against the students.

Samidoun is an organization that was founded to support Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons. Recently, the US imposed sanctions on the group as Canada classified them as a terrorist entity, alleging that they funded the Popular Liberation Front of Palestine, which has been designated as a terrorist group by the US and Canada. Six students were suspended during the Spring 2024 semester due their involvement with an event titled “Resistance 101” that featured Samidoun organizer Khaled Barakat. The event and the following suspensions stirred controversy due to Columbia’s usage of private investigators to surveil students, leading to disciplinary action against them.

The dig comes one day after Biden slammed Trump voters as “garbage” on a Zoom call hosted by a progressive Latino group.

Campaigning in Green Bay, Wis., Trump donned an orange vest to ride a garbage vehicle with “Make America Great Again 2024” plastered on its side. It was a “big, beautiful MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN Garbage Truck,” Trump said.

“How do you like my garbage truck?” Trump asked reporters. “This truck is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden. . . . Joe Biden should be ashamed of himself, if he knows what he’s even doing, and she should be ashamed.”

Biden referred to Trump voters as “garbage” on Tuesday, when he said, “Just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage. The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.”
