Millions in Hundred Dollar Bills Flown to the Taliban for “Humanitarian Aid” Terrorists are being funded in plain sight. by Daniel Greenfield

https://www.frontpagemag.com/millions-in-hundred-dollar-bills-flown-to-the-taliban-for-humanitarian-aid/

As the Taliban were taking over Afghanistan, I predicted that Biden would fund the Taliban using “humanitarian aid” as a pretext. Since then, Biden has provided $1.1 billion in Afghan aid.

Despite assurances that the money would not go to the terrorists, the Biden administration issued global licenses authorizing financial transactions with the Taliban and the Al Qaeda allied Haqqani Network that include the “delivery and provision of humanitarian aid”.

Biden looted $3.5 billion from money awarded to the families of 9/11 victims in a lawsuit against the Taliban and put in a “trust fund” to provide “humanitarian aid”. His DOJ then went to court arguing that the judgment for the victims was too large and that it interfered with the Biden administration’s foreign policy in Afghanistan.

Now an Australian Broadcasting Corporation report has revealed massive stacks of hundred dollar bills sitting on the tarmac at Kabul International Airport. ABC noted that “the picture is just one of several images of United States $100 notes boxed, bagged, or bound in plastic, posted on Twitter by the Taliban-controlled central bank of Afghanistan in recent weeks.”

El Paso Mayor Declares a State of Emergency as Illegal Aliens Literally Flood Up From the Sewers By Rick Moran

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/rick-moran/2022/12/18/el-paso-mayor-declares-a-state-of-emergency-as-illegal-aliens-literally-flood-up-from-the-sewers-n1654526

It’s even worse than predicted.El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser declared a state of emergency after conferring with federal officials about the thousands of illegal aliens who are in El Paso, waiting to be released into the United States.

There is no room for them in the overflowing shelters, so thousands of them are sleeping in the streets. Or, sleeping in the sewers.

“Talking to some of our federal partners they really believe that on Wednesday our numbers will go to 4-, 5- or 6,000, and when I asked them, I said do you believe that you guys can handle it today, the answer was no. And when I heard the answer was no, I knew we had to do something right away,” Leeser said. (emphasis added)

Why can’t they handle it? The Biden administration has known since the summer that Title 42 was going to end. They have known since the beginning of May that they were facing an unprecedented crisis — up to 18,000 illegal aliens a day showing up at the border.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told America back in May, no worries, we’re on it.

“What we do is we prepare and we plan, and we’ve been doing so for months understanding that the Title 42 authority that the CDC holds is not going to be around forever because, quite frankly, we want to conquer the pandemic and put it behind us,” Mayorkas said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

As it turns out, that was a lie.

El Paso represents but one crossing point for illegals in Texas. There are 28 main border crossings in that state alone. And if they’re getting slammed with 6,000 illegals arriving every day in El Paso, 18,000 illegals a day along the entire southern border is an optimistic number.

It’s time to tell the story of Black success, not Black victimhood by Robert Woodson Sr. and John Sibley Butler

EXCERPTS

“Garvey’s vision provided hope for poverty-stricken Black communities all over America — and the world. Hope that they could help themselves, that they could respect themselves. And his hope has been vindicated. It’s time to tell the story of Black victory, not Black victimhood. It’s time to build a future where Black Americans have the independence, optimism and pride Garvey saw for them: A future of thriving Black enterprise.”

….among those who do remember Marcus Garvey, too few know his real legacy. To some, he was a “Black Moses” who tried and ultimately failed to initiate a radical “back-to-Africa” movement that would unite all Black people under one government. To others, he was a prophet who foretold the victory of anti-colonialist movements throughout Africa and the diaspora.

But Garvey’s true significance for America today is as one of the first and most successful champions of Black self-determination, exhorting Black Americans to become agents of their own uplift. He was the first leader to reach and motivate masses of low-income Black men and women with a vision of independence, pride and enterprise.

The story of his rise and ultimate betrayal by the civil rights establishment is one of the greatest and most tragic in our history. Garvey could be biting in his criticism of groups such as the NAACP, which had more political clout but far fewer rank-and-file members than UNIA. In response, leaders including A. Philip Randolph and W.E.B. DuBois denounced Garvey as a demagogue. Their “Garvey Must Go!” movement, along with the efforts of a hostile young Justice Department investigator named J. Edgar Hoover, effectively ended Garvey’s public career. He was convicted on trumped-up mail fraud charges and deported as an undesirable alien.

We’re living with the results of the “white guilt” model. Black America has gone from the self-determination of the Garvey era to self-extermination of the present; our communities are wracked by senseless violence and deprived of real, community-based solutions in favor of federal-level programs. Black schools, which a century ago were capable of outperforming their white counterparts in major cities such as New York and Washington, now struggle to educate at all. Systemic racism is not the cause of this crisis in low-income, predominantly Black neighborhoods, but rather, systemic betrayal by those governing officials who look like, but don’t look out for, those they serve.

Let’s Talk About Joe Biden’s Millionth Embarrassing Gaffe Sarah Arnold

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/saraharnold/2022/12/18/lets-talk-about-joe-bidens-millionth-embarrassing-gaffe-n2617278

It wouldn’t be a speech without President Joe Biden embarrassing himself and the rest of the Democrat Party. In Biden’s latest dementia-fueled claims, he got several things wrong.

First, he confused First Lady Jill Biden’s father for her grandfather, then he claimed his uncle received the Purple Heart, and then exaggerated trips he took to Afghanistan and Iraq.

On top of all of that, Biden belittled the Irish culture.

During a speech to U.S. veterans in Delaware, Biden 102-year-old World War II veteran Ray Firmani applauded his time serving, to which he thanked the president.

In response, Biden made an off-putting comment saying “thank you. I may be Irish, but I’m not stupid…. I married Dominic Giacoppa’s daughter. So, you know, I got a little Italian in me now, you know?”

However, Giacoppa is not his wife’s father. Donald Carl Jacobs from Hammonton, New Jersey is her father and Giacoppa is her grandfather.

55,000 migrants begin to mass toward the U.S. southern border By Monica Showalter

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2022/12/55000_migrants_begin_to_mass_toward_the_us_southern_border.html

The Biden administration would have you think that the large numbers of migrants crossing into the U.S. illegally is just ‘seasonal,’ the border is “secure,” and every one of these illegal migrants has a ‘right’ to an extended and cost-free asylum hearing process extending for years, not including appeals, with free work permits in the interim.

Incentives put out by the Biden administration to come on over  — shutting down construction of the border wall, ending the Remain in Mexico policy, ending the Trump-era treaties with Central America, halting deportations, extending benefits, free transport, free cell phones, free medical care, free hotels, free vaccines, plus zero jailtime for breaking and entering, would have nothing to do with it.

Well, with word out that Title 42 expulsions on COVID concerns is ending as of December 21, that pretty well puts paid to the nonsense that there’s nothing unusual about the large numbers of foreign nationals making a rush to the U.S. border to get in while the getting’s good.

The migrants have heard the message about the end of Title 42 … and they are coming.

Time For Congress To Solve The Prior Authorization Problem For All Americans Terry Wilcox

https://issuesinsights.com/2022/12/19/time-for-congress-to-solve-the-prior-authorization-problem-for-all-americans/

The unanimous passage of the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act in the U.S. House is an important victory in the ongoing fight to curb insurance company abuses that delay or outright deny medically necessary care for patients in need. The entire patient community is glad to see lawmakers support this much-needed legislation, which will help streamline and simplify the delivery and coordination of care for seniors and persons with disabilities enrolled in Medicare Advantage.

But there’s still work to be done.

The bipartisan Improving Seniors’ Access to Timely Care Act aims to overhaul the prior authorization process – one of insurers’ most widespread and flagrant abuses – and protect Medicare Advantage beneficiaries from having to jump through hoops simply to access the care they need and that their doctor prescribed. The legislation would modernize the outdated process by requiring the use of electronic prior authorization tools, which would speed up approvals. This is crucial since 93% of doctors say prior authorization leads to delays in treatment, and 34% say it has led to a serious adverse event for a patient in their care. By preventing dangerous delays, the legislation – along with a complementary rule recently proposed by the federal government – would help ensure seniors and patients with disabilities can access prescribed treatments and services when they need them.

Should We Mask Kids Under 5 To Contain COVID? — I&I/TIPP Poll Terry Jones

https://issuesinsights.com/2022/12/19/should-we-mask-kids-under-5-to-contain-covid-ii-tipp-poll/

Fearing a huge winter upswing in the number of COVID and flu cases, government officials are once again calling on Americans to don their masks to keep the deadly viruses from spreading. But some take it a step further, suggesting even children 5 and under should put on masks. The latest I&I/TIPP Poll asks: Is that a good idea?

The answer, probably not surprisingly to anyone, appears to depend heavily on a variety of factors, including where you live, your race, your gender and your political leanings. So, at the very least, we’re likely in for another politicized debate over the practice of masking, this time for the youngest among us.

The I&I/TIPP Poll, taken online from Dec. 7-9, asked 1,351 American adults the following simple question: “Is it a good or bad idea to put masks on children under age 5 to deal with COVID?”

The response to the online poll, which has a margin of error of +/-2.8 percentage points, was split nearly evenly: 39% said it was a good idea, versus 38% who said it was a bad idea. Because of the size of the margin of error, that means it’s basically a tossup.

The same can’t be said when it comes to responses by political party, ideology, gender and race. In each of those, significant difference emerge.

Take political party. A solid majority of Democrats (56%) believe masking children under 5 is a good idea, compared with just 24% of Republicans and 31% of independents. Conversely, only 24% of Democrats said it was a bad idea, versus 58% of Republicans and 38% of independents.

Raphael Warnock, Election Denier Victory hasn’t stopped him from leveling false charges that Georgia is engaged in ‘voter suppression.’ By Brad Raffensperger

https://www.wsj.com/articles/raphael-warnock-election-denier-georgia-senate-runoff-stolen-free-fair-abrams-integrity-jim-crow-turnout-11671353607?mod=opinion_lead_pos5

I have to spend a lot of time shooting down false claims about our elections in Georgia. Usually they come from losers. But sometimes even victorious candidates make false claims about our elections.

After the 2018 and 2020 elections, Georgia had its fill of false claims from losing candidates that our elections aren’t free and fair. For Donald Trump and his supporters, it was tens of thousands of fraudulent ballots that were supposedly cast but somehow never turned up. For Stacey Abrams and hers, it was tens of thousands of voters who were suppressed, not one of whom came forward during her three-year “landmark” lawsuit.

Georgia’s statewide officials—Gov. Brian Kemp, Attorney General Chris Carr and I—stood by Georgia’s elections in 2018 and 2020, defeating the false claims of failed candidates. Last month Georgia returned us to the Gold Dome with commanding margins, whereas statewide Democratic candidates who endorsed or supported Joe Biden’s “Jim Crow 2.0” conspiracy theories came up short in dramatic fashion. Sen. Raphael Warnock made it to a runoff, which he won by the smallest margin of any statewide race.

Goodnight, Poor Harvard! Francis Menton

https://www.manhattancontrarian.com/blog/2022-12-15-goodnight-poor-harvard

Yesterday I got two emails from Harvard University, as I presume all other Harvard alumni also did. There’s big news: the Presidential Search Committee has announced who will become the next President of the University. It’s Claudine Gay, currently Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the largest constituent piece of the institution. She will become President on July 1, 2023, when current President Larry Bacow steps down (after only five years).

Have I heard of this person before? More on that in a bit.

But first some of the gushing praise from the official University publicity:

Claudine is a remarkable leader who is profoundly devoted to sustaining and enhancing Harvard’s academic excellence, to championing both the value and the values of higher education and research, to expanding opportunity, and to strengthening Harvard as a fount of ideas and a force for good in the world. . . . As her many admirers know, Claudine consults widely; she listens attentively; she thinks rigorously and imaginatively; she invites collaboration and resists complacency; and she acts with conviction and purpose. . . . Claudine’s own scholarship and teaching have focused on aspects of democracy—political participation, voting behavior, public opinion, and the interplay of race, ethnicity, and politics in America.

And that’s barely a tenth of it. I’m sorry I can’t give you a link to the whole thing; but then, I certainly would not recommend wasting your time reading it.

But where have I come across this name before? Somehow I remembered seeing it on Instapundit, and with a quick search there I find this brief post from April 17, 2022. The link goes to a Substack article by a guy named Chris Brunet, formerly of the Daily Caller, who has gone out on his own at Substack under the name Karlstack. Brunet apparently makes a specialty of exposing corruption in academia, and he is all over the case of Ms. Gay. His April 17, 2022 post has the title “The Curious Case of Claudine Gay.”

GOOD NEWS FROM AMAZING ISRAEL FROM MICHAEL ORDMAN

Hannukah is the festival of lights.

Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:3

“ You light up my life, You give me hope to carry on. You light up my days and fill my nights with song. American songwriter Joe Brooks 1970.

Israel’s incredible contributions to science, medicine, agriculture and water technology, bring the light of hope to billions of people throughout the world. Here is another dazzling list from Michael Ordman. rsk

ISRAEL’S MEDICAL ACHIEVEMENTS

AI to diagnose cancerous biopsies. Many tumors express the protein PD-L1, which allows them to circumvent the immune system. Scientists at Israel’s Technion Institute have developed neural networks that use “deep learning” AI to recognize PD-L1 in biopsies, alerting oncologists to apply appropriate immunotherapy.
