A Deal Will Not Stop the Mullahs from Going Nuclear by Majid Rafizadeh

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/18799/iran-mullahs-going-nuclear

When the regime’s television host asked him about the video showing concrete being poured into the Arak reactor’s pipes to block them, Ali Akbar Salehi, former head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran responded: “[N]ot the pipes you see here. We had purchased similar pipes, but I couldn’t announce it at that time…. We needed to be smart.” — Iran Focus, August 2, 2022.

In addition, during the deal, several reports, later proven to be accurate, warned that Iran was conducting secret nuclear activities.

Now, thanks to the Biden administration’s focus on reviving the nuclear deal… the Iranian regime bought time by dragging out the negotiations long enough to reach the nuclear threshold.

Regrettably, it looks as though the Biden administration and Europe — through their endless concessions and a staggering lack of deterrence — are still trying to force-feed the world a hostile Iran, armed with nuclear weapons.

One can only assume that the Biden administration is hoping to bribe the mullahs with up to a trillion dollars just not to bomb Israel while he is still president. Meaning that afterwards would be splendid?

Not only are deals such as the Biden or Obama nuclear deal failing to halt the predatory regime of Iran from advancing its nuclear program and possessing nuclear weapons, it actually facilitates Iran’s going nuclear by legitimizing its weapons.

The Biden administration has spent all its political capital to resurrect the nuclear deal — presumably to perpetuate the idea that a nuclear agreement with the Iranian regime will stop Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Unfortunately, believing that the ruling mullahs of Iran will halt their nuclear advancement with a deal is laughable.

Dual system of silence? Garland, Wray clam up on Trump search after blabbing about Jan. 6 probe Republicans see a double standard even in how and when DOJ officials talk about ongoing probes.

By John Solomon and Natalia Mittelstadt

Stoic like a judge delivering a verdict from the bench, Attorney General Merrick Garland declared Thursday he was playing things by the book and wouldn’t talk about the raid and ongoing investigation of former President Donald Trump.

“The Department of Justice will speak through its court filings and its work,” he said, declining to answer any of the multitude of questions Americans have, except that he approved the Monday raid on the 45th president’s home and doesn’t object to releasing the search warrant.

Garland, however, was hardly as tight-lipped about the other major ongoing investigation that has consumed his department: the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

In testimony, speeches and news interviews he has talked expansively about the nature of the probe, the forced collections of evidence and who and how many are being investigated — even as many defendants have not yet had their day in court.

Usually, it is taboo for federal prosecutors to talk about anything related to grand juries. But in his one-year anniversary speech, Garland gave the total number of grand jury subpoenas and search warrants executed, the amount of video footage collected, and the number of electronic devices seized through warrants and subpoenas. It was a rare moment of transparency in an evidence collection process normally shrouded in the same secrecy as the raid on Trump’s home and office.

Justin Trudeau’s Woke Trail Through Canada A disturbing look at what a leftist Prime Minister has done to his country. Thom Nickels

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2022/08/justin-trudeaus-woke-trail-through-canada-thom-nickels/

If you want to understand the appeal and success of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, you first have to get through the “sexy” part.

From Glamour magazine, Vogue, Teen Vogue to Time magazine, for years the headlines have dripped with embarassing sexual dew.

These Photos of Young Justin Trudeau are Breaking Hearts All Over the Internet, Time magazine declared in 2017. Glamour Magazine followed suit with: “Young Justin Trudeau was a Regulation Hottie.” Given this sort of press, it’s no wonder that Trudeau won Vogue Canada’s 2015 “Sexiest Man Alive” contest with his “sleek suits and swagger.”

Even more embarrassing are the innumerable blogs featuring the PM as a teen in an open shirt and what looks like the very beginnings of a umbilical hernia on his torso.

The comments section on these blogs is equally off the charts, starting with Justin’s “spellbinding eyes,” “delicious locks,” and ending with the acte commentaire ultime, “it’s pretty much impossible not to drool over this thirst trap.”

The comments come mostly from young women but many appear to be considerably older, recalling the dicey, pay-for-play provocations in the 1967 film, The Graduate.

Everyone, it seems, wants “a piece” of Canada’s PM despite some pushback on the PM’s latest haircut in which those “delicious locks” gave way to comparisons of actor Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber.

The PM’s new haircut is definitely a sheltered workshop look or what you get after electroshock therapy.

It’s a hardcore butch look for the PM who was often bullied as a boy, according to his mother, Margaret, the fascinating diva of 1970’s New York City night life, aka Studio 54, who relished being photographed dancing with busboys and a young Mick Jagger.

Democratic Operatives Control Voter Rolls In 31 States, Report Shows By: Victoria Marshall

https://thefederalist.com/2022/08/11/democratic-operatives-control-voter-rolls-in-31-states-report-shows/

Left-wing operatives are working overtime to accomplish their partisan goals and drive Democratic voter turnout.

A prominent voter-roll management system used by 31 states and the District of Columbia has politically compromised ties, according to a new report by independent research group Verity Vote.

The Electronic Registration Information Center, or ERIC, was sold to states as a quick and easy way to update their voter rolls. Started in 2012 by far-left activist David Becker and the left-leaning Pew Charitable Trusts, the program is ostensibly run by the member states themselves. But as public records show, Democratic operatives are working overtime under the cover of ERIC to accomplish their partisan goals and drive Democratic voter turnout.

David Becker, Far-Left Activist

Becker’s left-wing ties have long concerned Republican state officials participating in ERIC. Before he started ERIC, Becker worked as a lobbyist for People for the American Way, a George Soros-funded advocacy group best known for the Right Wing Watch project, a website that catalogs and attacks conservative politicians and movements.

Before that, though, he was a Justice Department attorney whom colleagues remember as a “hard-core leftist” who “couldn’t stand Conservatives.”

While at the DOJ, Becker became the subject of an ethics complaint after he contacted Boston and offered his help in defeating a lawsuit made against the city by his employer for voting infractions. According to Hans von Spakovsky, former counsel to the assistant attorney general for civil rights at the time, Becker “was supposed to be nonpartisan, but his emails uncovered in the Boston investigation revealed nasty, disparaging remarks about Republicans. Very unethical and unprofessional.”

After his stint at the DOJ and People for the American Way, Becker became the director of election initiatives at Pew Charitable Trusts, where he organized the creation of ERIC in 2012. Though Becker officially left ERIC in 2016, public records show he has continued to play a strong role in the organization, coordinating with state officials on ERIC-related activities and even running ERIC meetings. Documentation of that role is provided in Verity’s report. This is in violation of ERIC’s bylaws as Becker is a “non-voting board member” of ERIC and should not have the power to direct projects.

Why Aren’t Our Generals Learning? Winning battles while losing the war has taught them nothing. Daniel Greenfield

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2022/08/why-arent-our-generals-learning-daniel-greenfield/

A third of the way into his article, “Afghanistan Did Not Have to Turn Out This Way”, David Petraeus, former head of Central Command, who led forces in both Afghanistan and Iraq, and then headed the CIA, admits the war was never going to end.

“Some senior officials, including me, had cautioned that we would not be able to do in Afghanistan what we had done in Iraq—that though we might be able to drive violence down, we would not be able to ‘flip’ the country, as we had during the surge in Iraq, and provide it a whole new beginning,” he writes.

“When we recognized that we couldn’t ‘win’ the war, we did not even seriously consider that we might just ‘manage’ it,” Petraeus complains.

Managing the war would mean a permanent military presence in Afghanistan.

There was never any serious plan to withdraw from Afghanistan. Nation building, Petraeus argues, “was not just unavoidable; it was essential”. “How else do you help build the forces and capabilities that allow you to hand off crucial tasks—such as denying sanctuary to terrorists, securing the population and infrastructure, and running the country and its myriad institutions?”

Bill Gates-Funded Scientist Claims Candy is Healthier than Meat By Eric Lendrum

https://amgreatness.com/2022/08/11/bill-gates-funded-scientist-claims-candy-is-healthier-than-meat/

A nutrition scientist who will soon be advising a White House conference on nutrition released a study last year claiming that candy such as Reese’s is actually healthier for people to eat than meat such as beef.

As reported by The Daily Caller, Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian is a cardiologist and dean at the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. He has written over 450 publications on the subject and is the co-chair of the “Informing the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health” task force. Mozaffarian had previously demanded that the White House hold another such conference, after the last one was hosted in 1969; the event will take place in September.

Mozaffarian is perhaps most well-known for his own “Food Compass” that he released in 2021, which claims to objectively rate thousands of foods and beverages on a scale from 0 to 100, with higher ratings corresponding to higher nutritional value.

Some have pointed out the numerous clear inconsistencies in the scale, which included giving the candy Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups a score of 30, compared to just 26 for ground beef. The sugary cereal Lucky Charms has a score of 69, while grilled chicken is given a rating of 61. And while school lunch pepperoni pizza is rated with a 48, an egg fried with cooking spray is given only 41.

Also noteworthy is Mozaffarian’s financial connection to billionaire Microsoft founder Bill Gates; the scientist has received over $6 million from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, spanning across four different projects. Noticeably, the Gates’ insistence that everyone eat artificial meat is reflected in Mozaffarian’s Food Compass, with artificial meat consistently given high ratings ranging from 31 to 69.

FBI Won’t Let Facts Get In the Way of a Good Story Either the commissars prevail at great expense to the safety and liberty of the nation or they are defeated. And the closing chapter is being written right now. By Julie Kelly

https://amgreatness.com/2022/08/11/fbi-wont-let-facts-get-in-the-way-of-a-good-story/

“We have a saying in my office. Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story.”

So said FBI supervisory agent Henrik Impola to one of the FBI informants working the FBI-inspired, organized, and executed scheme to “kidnap” and “assassinate” Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

That comment, made in December 2020, just a few months after several men were arrested for their alleged role in the plot, was repeated by a defense attorney during opening statements Wednesday morning in the retrial of two remaining defendants in the federal case.

A Grand Rapids jury in April handed the Justice Department a shocking and rare defeat when jurors failed to return a single guilty verdict in what the government considers one of its biggest domestic terror investigations in decades. Two men were acquitted on every count after lawyers convinced the jury the men had been entrapped by the FBI; jurors couldn’t reach a verdict on alleged ringleader Adam Fox and Barry Croft, Jr. Both men now face a new trial.

Impola’s warning should be the FBI’s new motto; he also could be the poster boy for the modern-day FBI. Not only did he handle the main informant in the Whitmer operation, Impola worked out of the Detroit FBI field office when a man named Steven D’Antuono was in charge. The purpose of the caper, one with D’Antuono’s fingerprints all over it, was to produce negative news coverage for Trump while millions of Americans were voting for president in 2020; the president was accused of inspiring “white supremacist right-wing militias” to take out one of his most loathed political adversaries.

One week after the arrests in the Whitmer plot were announced on October 8, 2020, FBI Director Christopher Wray invited D’Antuono to take over a plum assignment—head of the FBI field office in Washington, D.C. The promotion gave D’Antuono control of the most powerful FBI office in the country several weeks before the events of January 6.

I remember when they called it segregation By Silvio Canto, Jr.

Another day, another story about a college out of control.  Check this one about UC-San Diego:

Families of white students have been prohibited from participating in numerous college welcome programs at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) during the Fall 2022 welcome week, according to a Triton Weeks of Welcome (TWOW) advertisement.

On Sept. 9-11, for example, UCSD is hosting a “Black, Latinx, and Native American Family Orientation.” Later in the week, between Sept. 12-17, the university will have a “Black Surf Week.”

On July 26, Christopher Rufo, Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, posted a tweet offering his perspective on “Black Surf Week.”

According to Rufo, these actions are clear violations of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which states, “All persons shall be entitled to the full and equal enjoyment of the goods [and] services… of any place of public accommodation, as defined in this section, without discrimination or segregation on the ground of race…”

The FBI and its media allies scramble to justify the Mar-a-Lago FBI raid By Rajan Laad

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2022/08/the_fbi_and_its_media_allies_scramble_to_justify_the_maralago_fbi_raid.html

After considerable public pressure, missing-in-action U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland finally addressed the media yesterday, saying he “personally approved the decision” for the FBI to execute a search warrant at President Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago. Garland declined to provide details about the investigation, such what the documents retrieved by the FBI were.

Reading from his text Garland piously intoned:

“Faithful adherence to the rule of law is the bedrock principle of the Justice Department and of our democracy. Upholding the rule of law means applying the law evenly without fear or favor. Under my watch, that is precisely what the Justice Department is doing.”

Following claims of honor, morality, and legal egalitarianism, Garland’s FBI then leaked information to the Washington Post, a notorious Democrat mouthpiece, proving in itself that the agency had been politized and compromised, and not for the first time.

The WaPo reported that the FBI was looking for classified documents related to nuclear weapons during their raid. The sources were obviously anonymous. It’s unclear what type of documents the FBI claimed to be seeking or if they pertained to nuclear weapons belonging to the U.S. or other countries.

The FBI also claims that their agents killed a shooter in Ohio on Thursday who allegedly tried to force his way into the bureau’s Cincinnati office.

The WaPo is claiming that the Ohio shooter, a man named Ricky Shiffer, had “possible ties to extremist groups, including the Proud Boys, whose leaders are accused of helping launch the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.” They also claimed Shiffer told his followers on Truth Social that he was “ready for combat” after the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago. They are even claiming the shooter called upon his followers to “kill the F.B.I. on sight.”

The Washington Post however could not confirm whether the account actually belonged to Shiffer.

Garland defended FBI agents as “dedicated, patriotic public servants” and said he would not “stand by silently when their integrity is unfairly attacked….They do so at great personal sacrifice and risk to themselves.”

So clearly, the spin will be two tier.

The first is that Trump stole nuclear weapons-related documents.

The second is Trump supporters are domestic terrorists preventing the FBI from doing its job.

Belgium’s Prisoner Swap Treaty with Iran: “A Deal with the Devil” by Soeren Kern

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/18797/belgium-iran-prisoner-swap

A Belgian court has temporarily prohibited the Belgian government from exchanging an Iranian diplomat convicted of terrorism for a Belgian citizen being held in Iran on dubious charges of espionage.

The court’s ruling represents a potential blow to a controversial new prisoner exchange treaty, which critics say will embolden the Iranian government to step up its practice of taking foreigners hostage to pressure Western countries into making concessions.

The treaty has angered those who argue that it would grant impunity to Iranian agents such as Assadi and have accused the Belgian government of caving in to “odious blackmail.” It has been variously described as: “frightening appeasement,” “a green light to terrorists,” and “very short-sighted,” “dangerous,” “outrageous,” “a sign of weakness,” “a stunning mistake,” and “a deal with the devil.”

“If the Belgian government proceeds with this treaty, Iran’s regime will further turn Europe into a roaming ground for its terrorists, targeting not just Iranian dissidents but others also, as Tehran is essentially being told that it won’t pay a price.” — Ramesh Sepehrrad, Organization of Iranian American Communities, July 5, 2022.

“With the knowledge that prisoner swaps are an easy option, Tehran will now instruct more ‘diplomats’ and other operatives to engage in terrorism…. Europe must recognize that, ultimately, the only sustainable path to having a stable relationship with Iran is to support the Iranian people’s democratic aspirations.” — Cameron Khansarinia and Kaveh Shahrooz, Politico, August 1, 2022.
